Finally won the Beat the **** (male chicken :rolleyes: )Triathalon from Santa Maria Beach.

So thats what that is! - I'm savouring GTA SA, taking it nice and slow (a whole 9% complete!) I've just bought the santa maria safe house and using it as a base. I sometimes come across a red mission 'spot' at the far end of the beach, near the lighthouse, when i step into the halo it says something like 'the **** clock isn't ready yet'?!?!? - what do you have to do to compete in this 'Iron-man' race?


Is it just me or does the stupid 'beach-party' mission suck?
 
You may only enter this race on a Saturday or Sunday. To view what day it is, bring up your Stats Display with L1, and look in the Top Right corner of this display. It will give you a day (Mon, Tue, Wed, Thu, Fri, Sat, Sun). The race only runs on a Saturday or Sunday.

does it count towards 100%?

also ive done taxi and valet, was at lvl11 in firefighter when i hit a car and it rolled over right next to the car i was putting out the fire, and well it blew up and caused me to FAIL goddamit. Ive also done courier for San Ferro.

Also there is a chance that you can only enter when you have opened up all the map, i.e got to Las Venturas. The race goes all over San Andreas. I think the one from Santa Maria Beach ends in San Fierro whilst the other is longer and ends in Las Venturas. I could'nt do any of them until most or all of San Andreas was unlocked.

I mean that's the only file that willl be corrupted, I didn't mean that it wasn't a bad thing that happened.

Get in the habit of rotating your saves among 2 or 3 slots--might save you some headaches--- I've never had a problem with a save but have done this on all my GTA's--just in case.
 
94% done, 94 hours played. I collected all of the oysters, robbed a few houses, and looked for a cheetah for an eternity and a half. Damn you cheetah! Damn you!
 
I went to save my file and halfway through saving it told me to insert my memory card and that the saved file was corrupted. Turns out the memory card wasn't inserted tightly and it couldn't write to it properly.

When I went to save again, listed in the game save slot was just "Corrupt save game" instead of the last mission name. I wouldn't be a happy camper if that error caused the PS2 to crash and leave me with a corrupt save game. Thankfully, I've been rotating 3 spots every save so I was able to just reload the last game in case saving my current game wasn't possible and would just save another corrupt file.

Well im going on a breif holiday thingy until friday (its tuesday atm) but i am taking ps2 so when i come back i will have 100% for sure
im at around 97.6% with 74 or so hours

and thats it, ive also dated all girlfreinds so i can benifit from getting wasted and busted with out losing weapons :).
 
Is that the one where you chase down OG loc? I rememeber trying to pass him but the game wouldn't allow it. He would just boost up ahead 10 yards or so.
 
Yeah. He slows down a little, but then speeds right up. You can't pass him. It's almost impossible. It's a very easy mission though, all you do is follow him, and it's not hard. In fact, I had no difficulty keeping him in my site.

Theres one outside a house in Prickle pine, across the road from the street that your safe house is in, its in the driveway.

Yeah. He slows down a little, but then speeds right up. You can't pass him. It's almost impossible. It's a very easy mission though, all you do is follow him, and it's not hard. In fact, I had no difficulty keeping him in my site.

Reloaded last night and all was OK... Phew!! No time to play though so no increase in progress!!

I'm pretty sure none of those houses in Prickle Pine have permanently parked cars. I might be mistaken, but I'm pretty sure on this.

I just completed everything up to the final mission. I got killed on the last mission coming back out. I was on the final floor exiting the building! :grumpy:

Not in my game-- I followed blakes advice and started searching in Prickle pine-- none of the cars I needed for inport/export second list were parked there and I searched the whole area (I needed stafford, cheetah, and comet)--- but I did eventually find all 3 in Prickle pine--I was going back and forth dating Millie up to 100% and I was riding an NRG when I found the cheetah driving by. The Comet I found pretty early while driving a banshee. The stafford was parked at the Golf course there but it was not there in the several times I pulled in there to check--- the cars there were pretty random which is why I kept checking back there-- I forget what I was drving when I found the Stafford.

I'm telling what I was driving when I found them since alot of times the car you drive affects the cars that spawn.

I don't want to. Even though I know it's not, to me it's sort of cheating. Also, I intend on using that Save Game after finishing this Final Mission as my Storyline Save Game, and I don't want to be Fireproof for this. I never had any trouble with the fire. I just got shot to death just before I exited the building.
 
I'm 99.47% done now. I can confirm that the Burglar missions aren't needed for 100%. I completed it (what a hassle) and it didn't raise my percent at all. I thought it was the last thing I needed to do so now I'm kind of irritated because I don't know what I have left to do.

After I finally found a Cheetah (thanks to whoever mentioned going to prickle pine) I breezed through the last export list because I had nearly every car in my garages. The only one I really had to go look for was a Mesa. I also did all of the stadium events and shooting range which were the only things I thought I had left. I'm not sure what would add just .53% but I'm assuming I might have a street race not done.

Edit: Arg! all street races are done. :indiff:

Its pretty hard to die in that building-- the leave health and armor everywhere-- are you sure the fire didn't get you a little???
 
I just realized I might not have done those missions when Caesar calls in SF. I think I did one of them once. Please don't tell me those are needed for 100%.
 
The Courier Missions are not needed. Just browse through the 100% List and make sure you have done everything. That would also be good as we still might need to add things to it.

It was the Timer. I took too much time, and ended up rushing. I died near the exit at about 6 seconds. :lol: I would have made it if not for 2 guys that ambushed me with bullets.
 
Upto 60% with 37 hours played now...

Got 19 out of 30 import/export... Did some street races and just completed the Abbatoir mission where the wheelchair guy has a heartattack!!

Anyone know a good place to find a Tanker?

Cheetah I found in Pickle Pine and parked... but literaly as I drove upto it a woman parked it on her drive. Stafford I found once as I loaded up at Wuzi's Casino... I had to run after it for ages... til another one came the other way!! Comet was just cruising around the strip!

Do Tankers even drive around? I haven't noticed.

I haven't done them myself, but they could be in the Trucker Missions. Check there.
 
Tankers are all over the place in the countyside, but it's easy to mistake them for linerunners. I had the same problem with the Import/Export as you, but when I found out what a tanker actually was I had no problem finding one.
