Finally got the 2nd Special Costumes and the Chicago Typewriter. I think that's my favourite weapon. And Ashley running around in the armour! Yep, she's used as bait a fair bit! :trouble:
I had to laugh when I first had to catch her. Poor old Leon drops to one knee when he catches her and holds his hip in pain as he stands up. Nice detail. Great fun sticking dart mines in her whilst surrounded by Ganados!! :)
Now then, on to Pro Level! :scared:
Crap, now why didn't I think to use dart mines to stick her! Damn good idea. But, if you use the enemy tracking darts, do they skip her and find a badie instead?

Remember to use the shoot knee, slice with knife tactic. And, run more often then fight. Remember, in pro level, you gotta start over from scratch with both money and weapons.

Btw, has anyone here played both the gamecube and ps2 versions of this game?
I’ve got them both, though I picked up the PS2 version for Ada’s Separate Ways campaign. As I’ve finished with the extras that feature in the PS2 version, I’ll only be playing the cube version from now on. The cube’s hardware superiority makes it the platform of choice for those who appreciate high quality textures and sharpness. Now where did I put that Red9…

So I just defeated ..Verdugo's mutated form. This game just keeps getting better. All the boss fights so far have been awesome, I think the "Del Lago" (?) was my favorite so far though. :D I've upgraded the Punisher and the TMP a lot , and only upgraded the reload speed for the shotgun/rifle. I think the part that gave me the most trouble was defending that cabin with Luis. :scared: I must've died 3 or 4 times. Ashley hasn't really been a nuisance at all, usually escort missions are a real pain. I can only assume it will get tougher though.

Yes, it is a very good game i highly recommend you get it. It's totally different to all the other resident evils, and it's pretty long too, took me about 17 hours first time. Plus there's loads of replay value too.

well i bought it today. i wasnt too thrilled on the camera view at first but im getting used to it. if it had a view like in MGS it would be perfect. the fact that the people arent really zombies make it less eerie, even though everything about them is zombish like. i enjoyed the part on the bridge when the idiots with dynomite didnt throw it far enough and about 5 of them blew up. i also like the strategics of being able to shoot a person in the leg then running up and kicking their head off. its a good way to save bullets. its alright so far.

i have a question already. do the red jewels and dirty jewery and such play an important role later on in the game or can i just sell them?

hmm if i remember correctly, the red jewels can be inserted to a mask, then gives more value when u sell it. not really important later on, just sell it.

The dirty pearl pendant and pocket watch means you didn't shoot the stick holding open the crap tank. Shoot the sitck making the lid fall shut, then shoot the hanging treasure. Dirty, they are worth 1,000 and clean will get you 10,000.

Sell all the Rubies, Pearl Pendants, Pocket Watches, Amber Rings, Gold Bangles, Mirrors, Purfume Bottles, Elegant Chess Sets, Spinels, Velvet Blues, Elegant Headresses, Illuminados Pendants, Antique Pipes, Hourglasses and the Staff Of Royalty.

Save all Cateyes, Eyes, Gems, Elegant Masks, Crown Jewels, Royal Insignia, Crown, Beer Stein, Butterfly Lamps, Gold Lynx, and all the "The Stone of..."

Cateyes fit into Beer Steins. Eyes fit into Butterfly Lamps. Gems fit into Elegant Masks. Crown Jewels and the Royal Insignia fit into the Crown. The "The Stone Of..." fit into the Gold Lynx.

Note: You can sell all the extra "Eyes" you get past three. There are only two or three Butterly Lamps in the game, and you'll get a lot of Red Eyes and a lot of Green Eyes. But, Blue Eyes are very hard to come by, so NEVER sell them. At the time you come to a giant hive once you open the door with the King and Queen cups, shoot the the hive with a rocket launcher. You'll get a crap-load of Eyes and one might be a much needed Blue Eye.

man they say these people arent zombies, but they have to be. regular half-ass civilized people dont act like that, especially the chick who keeps trying to bite my neck.

I never did find my beerstein. Where do you get it?
There's two in the game. I only know exactly where the first one is.

It's located on the farm area of the Village where you first see the Blue Medallians you need to shoot. Climb into the white barn, and climb up to the hay loft. Go out the first window to the left. Jump down in that small corner that's boxed in by wooden fences, and inside there will be a box. Break it open and there you'll find the beerstein. Push the bookcase to go back into the barn.

this game is actually pretty hard. i just got past that point in chapter 3-1 right after the garrador where you have to kill a hoard of cultists and then protect ashley as she tried to turn a crank. that part seemed really difficult, especially since i never updated my weapons.

I noticed it too, I just played REmake and the zombies and Ganados have similar traits, they shamble toward you and fall down exactly the same, but unlike the zombies the Ganados can wield weapons and run, the only creature in the RE universe that are similar to the Ganados that can run are the... Gasp, Crimson Heads! :scared: My theroy is Capcom used a modified version of the Crimson Head's A.I for the Ganados.

RE4 is a huge improvement on the "ok" Outbreak #2 I enjoyed every minute it had to offer.
The Chicago Typewriter is worth getting.
Even playing through again with the typewriter is well worth it.

Wow just over 3 hours! That's fast.

Not quite sure what you mean there, but i'm guessing you mean are the graphics good on PS2. Well, Yes they are very good as well and the controls are easy also.

Yep. Have also a look at the special runs. Unbelievable! Thanks I meant the controls and how good the graphics are.

Thanks mate!

You're welcome.

I downloaded that one where the guy did it in 1 hour 59 minutes! Damn that's fast.

Also, Resident Evil 4 is coming out on PC soon so i'm going to get that, it will have better graphics and controls probably than PS2 or Gamecube.

I played the Game Cube version of this the other day, it was very impressive - is the PS2 version as good - has anyone played both back-to-back?

Yes but it's a special weapons run. The rocketluncher is nice but too easy fopr some boss fights.

Hmm contemplating if I should buy a cube only for RE4. Don't think so. MGS3 and GT4 are the games I want too. so I'll go for the ps2. Have to work harder.
