RESOLVED- Bonus cars (Stealth & Chromeline) are NOT profile locked!

EDIT in bold and red: Thanks to everyone who confirmed, we now know that bonus cars such as Stealth cars and Chromeline cars are NOT profile locked. You can use them across all your PS3/PSN account profiles, even if they aren't subaccounts of each other. Thanks again!

I'm aware that there is a topic for this already, but the topic name was really poor and did not reflect the nature of the question.

Some of us GTPlaneteers have two PSN IDs for racing. Our personal/main PSN accounts and the GTP_XXX account we use to race online, to promote/give a good name to our GT5 online racing community. I would like to know if these bonus cars will be profile locked, in the event that we need to make sure to carefully choose the account we need our bonus cars in.

TL;DR: Are bonus cars, such as Stealth cars and Chromeline cars profile locked, or will they be able to be used across all PSN users in one's console?

I just received my copy of GT5, the collectors edition. I'm more then happy to find this out for you, if someone could tell me where i can find my bonus cars.

All I have is the box, an apex magazine book, and 5 cards. Given the fact that you get 5 bonus cars, these cards would likely be used in some way or another, i just cant figure out how/where.

If someone can enlighten me on this topic, then I can assist you in finding out the PS-ID thing.

They come with the CE.

I would also assume they are profile locked, but depending on how the trading is set up you might be able to just send them back and forth.

I don't have a clue. I believe these cards should have a code. Do they have it? If so, there's an option in your account management menu, right from the XMB (read: NOT in-game nor from the store). You should input that code there, and your download should pop up. The option is called "Redeem codes" I think.

I dont have my CE copy yet, but gamestop sent me the following email that states the following:

"Instructions for redeeming a Promotion Code on your PS3 System:

1.Open an account on the PlayStation Network (or use an exising account).
2.From the PlayStation Network icon on the Xross Media Bar, select 'Account Management'.
3.Select 'Redeem Codes'.
4.Enter Promotion Code (found below)."
 
No will be able to redeem their codes until tomorrow morning. Because the game is not officially released. So you wont be able to get you chrome line,stealth or pre-order cars.
 
So the Chromeline Cars are pure DLC, so you can start with a Standard copy of the game, then when your CE arrives, get your cars?

I want to head to Wal Mart and get a regular copy but I was a bit nervous about the Chromeline Cars.
 
I have preordered Standard and will be getting Stealth cars and did not think of this at all. I hope you can get them across the two accounts but I doubt it, the two accounts would be completely different saves anyway. I dont believe you can move the save to another account can you?
 
I will have by tomorrow both the CE from Amazon & standard edition from GameStop, I am wondering if I can redeem the codes from both?.
 
It's just PSN download codes so you should be fine regnar. I've bought codes off others who didn't want theirs and it worked for me. As for the lock, it's probably locked to the one person who redeems it. That is unless once the online community is activated, people can trade/gift them as they see fit. As for me, I'm thinking about buying other people's promo codes for other DLC cars.
 
All Chrome Line cars come with the Collectors Edition and Signature Edition only. You get stealth cars and a special car only if you pre-ordered. If you go in a just buy a standard copy you wont receive any codes. That's what I found out earlier this evening.

Right, so tomorrow I pick up my CE get all my download coupons then sell this standard edition I'm playing right now to my buddy for $55 and away we go!

I hope thats how it works out tomorrow. I'm loving the game by the way!
 
on the inside of the GT5 games cover, theres some white/purpleish little flyer from PSN, it has a code written on it somewhere, at least on my collectors edition.

this gives me some chromeline cars (i start with them in GT life!) a lambo, an old shelby mustang, M3, R8 and one other i forgot :P all very cool looking with 2 stripes from front to end :)

also gives a dynamic theme for xmb

on top of that i also got a mclaren F1 stealth black, when i preoredered from gamestop in denmark. (also a similar white/purple piece of cardboard with a code written on it)
 
This topic is relevant to my interests. Amazon e-mailed me this morning to tell me my game had shipped. They also said they'd give me the code for my Stealth SLS "when the game shipped out". But there was no code in the e-mail.

Can anyone tell me what's going on here?

its in the manual in the game box. its on the second page of the psn book
the stealth SLS drives amazing. copped the Signature Edition so i received the whole Stealth collection. they drive really great, light cars with amazing power
 
OK maybe I've missed something but, I've use the code on the the redeemcode menu, I've downloaded the car (about 100kb each). Now I can't see this car nowhere on the game. Not in the garage, not in the car dealer. Can someone help me with that?
Note: I didn't done any race or license on the career.

Need more info - what region disc and what region PSN ID?
 
I have a hunch that they will NOT be profile locked, because it's DLC and it's installed in the game's files.

Why? Well, from the experience I've had with my games with DLC:

1- You have 2 PSN accounts set up on your PS3, and therefore, 2 separate profiles (In my case, my "Coxis" account and my "GTP_Coxis" account).
2- You buy a game that has DLC available with your main account. Let's say Super Stardust HD.
3- You buy DLC content for said game with your main account.
4- You launch the game on your secondary account.
5- You notice that even though that accout did NOT purchase the content, that account has full access to the add-on conent.

We do need clarification that this is how it will go, though. Unfortunately Mexico's release date is November 30th since we are a "low priority" country so I can't check myself. I got this from my local SonyStyle's sales rep.

I'm in canada so the disc should ntsc, but i'm waiting for my CE to come. For now I only got the standard edition, but my Collector edition is coming. i've got one canadian psnID and I've created an european psnID to be able to download the car. I've downloaded them but no trace on them anywhere on both account... :(

on my canadian CE, the redeem code are behind a scratch thingy, wich you must scratch to reveal the code.
2 redeem code, one for CE (Chromeline black R8, blue AC Cobra, red 300SL, blue Lambo and orange M3, wich all have chrome racing strip and a chrome GT logo on both side)
and the second one, pre-order bonus, Gamestop.ca in my case (Stealth black SLS AMG and a Gamestop edition NASCAR #20 Toyota Camry)

same hapened to me, i input the redeem codes in, saved them, installed them.

went onto gt5 and it said i had been gifted 2 cars the mazda and mclaren

but i cant find them anywhere.
 
Would love to know this also before i redeem my chrome and stealth cars, hopefully we can use them on any account on the ps3 where installed! :)

Yep. They don;t even have to be sub accounts of each other. I think they just need to be on the same PS3.
