Eh, Jordan ought to add a section to the AUP about searching before you post, IMO. Far too many get away with not searching.
 
Matrix, I disagree. Half of GTPlanet would not even look there. I know it. They would be busy spamming post-whoring.Getting banned etc.

I know. But something really needs to be done about it. It probably wouldn't really be enforced.

I don't mind admitting I'm pretty angry at what you all did here. Especially you, Timmotheus, who at least has the potential to know better. It took me 10-15 minutes to delete the pointless posts and I didn't even get all of them. You're not the only one, either.

If you want to be total mindless idiots, go to www.clubsi.com . You'll be welcome there. That's an absolutely perfect example of a great forum that was totally destroyed by lack or enforcement by moderators, and lack of anything worthwhile contributed by the members themselves.

If you're not going to post something worthwhile - at least humorous - then shut it for once in your life. You might find that you can actually think when you're not wasting your time posting pointless idiocy.

Duke, when did you actually start caring? I don't mean that the way it sounds, I mean, when did you start feeling strongly about all of this?
 
I try not to post too much off topic crap in threads, but I have to admit I've done it here and there. Thanks to the mod staff for cleaning up around here and making sure everyone follows the rules 👍. It must be a lot of work, especially that "Drifters Only" forum.

I started caring about a month after I joined GTPlanet; in other words, about a year ago. I cared enough to get invited to join the mod staff. I cared enough to accept the invitation. I've cared enough to try to 1) do my job as a mod, and 2) set a decent example.

I've felt strongly for my whole time. Since I became a mod, I've tried to not be a fascist on a power trip; I've tried to gently lead this place in the right direction. I've administered occasional smackdowns to trolls and troublemakers and disruptive people.

But the Britney thread really tore it for me. I haven't seen such total disregard for decency in a while, and such total disregard for a clear set of rules. I haven't seen such a total lack of respect for self and others as was shown in that thread. This place is capable of so much more than that. So that's what prompted this thread.
 
I have an idea. This is a wild one.

For the forums (drifting corner etc.) That are having problems.. We could hire a bunch of new moderators not Super Moderators, Moderators that can be trusted. That know how to handle this kind of stuff, and have experience. It would take a load of work off of the Super Moderators.

If you're not going to contribute, then at least don't antagonize. But if you keep up this attitude, it will cost me about 3 and a half seconds of second thoughts before I ban you.

That way you'll be relieved of having to analyze your own behaviour and realizing you're wrong.
