I'm now in the possession of a friends' PS2, and I got to thinking about the game of my childhood: GT4. First video game I ever spent serious time on. So here's another thread on my driver's quest to 100%....

With a twist.

I had hit 100% only once before, my crowning GT achievement. But that was that. I still remember the days, when I still wrote my Time Trials Reports, the Nurburgring blasts. It was a lot of deja vu, again. And again.

I started out going license hunting. Got up to IA-L, and I've even gotten up a good start in 2 days. I've won the:

Sunday Cup
Turbo Sports Cup
Isuzu Sports Classics
Renault-Alpine Cup
Costa di Amalfi- Easy, Normal
George V Paris- Easy
Tsukuba Wet- Easy, Normal
Driving Missions 1-10

In my garage is a:

2004 HKS GENKI HYPER SILVIA RS2 (D1GP)
2001 Nissan GT-R Concept (TokyoShow)
2002 Acura DN-X
2002 Pontiac Sunfire GXP Concept

And I have $226,487 currently. Anyone got tips or a comment, feel free, because I'm going for 100%. All. Over. Again.

Buy a subaru, so you can do race of pleiades, boxer and special conditions.

Peace

I'm on the same boat as you, completing GT4, again. To start off, do as much special conditions and driving missions to 25%.

Endurance racers are now unlocked. Finish El Capitan 200 miles, and the Toyota Minolta is yours.

Add a stage 4 turbo to your Toyota RSC Rally Car, and finish Cathedral Rocks Trail I, Hard. The Suzuki Escudo Trial car is now yours.

Now, you have two cars to conquer both off-road and tarmac.

I think I should leave you to it. :)

If you got serious free time, try joining the 100000 Club, its not as hard as it first seems, if you finish all the missions, and with the RAM all the special condition events, you will have a lot of a-spec points and cars to start your hunt for 100000 points.
Go to the threads and good luck!

He, not a bad idea, I just can't stand 24hr races!

Starting up the game now.

I also beat the slipstream battles,so I know have a 1070hp Pagani Zonda LM in my garage. Top speed around 27m/h.

I meant 270, sorry for the typo.Currently rallying! I aquired a Cadillac Cien, Lancia Delta HF Integrale Rally Car, money's around $455,000 right now. Off to Chamonix.

This would mean that you had to beat mission #23.

I still maintain that this mission is impossible, even though many, many people have done it and I never have :dunce:

Sorry, it just ruined my life for a while...it won the battle, but not the war. One day...

Yeah, it is hard but you have to play with either AT/MT, car to draft from, when to get to the front car, lot of stuff working against you.

You don't need a lot of endurance races for 100000 points, I did only up to 9 hour endurance race.

Running a 24 HR race at Nurburgring in B-Spec in a Toyota 88C-V. About 14 hours into it, up by 9 laps on a Chaparral 2D. Yeah, I'm a B-Spec loser.

As long as you don't overuse one car, then your ok.

I suggest leaving the 24hr Le Mans (unchicaned layout) until you reach 8000+ b-spec points. Bob gets tired down the 5km Mulsanne straight, and he can smash into the wall, losing 12 seconds.

The chicaned layout is pretty easy, though. I've finished that race with under 3k points, and Bob rarely touched the wall.

I noticed that you have the Nissan GTR Tokoyshow.

Sorry to hijack, but just a quick question. How did you get it?

Yeah, it is hard but you have to play with either AT/MT, car to draft from, when to get to the front car, lot of stuff working against you.

Actually, there is a simple method of using the slingshot with the 3rd place car and continuously draft/pass him until you pass the lead car, after which for some reason, the other cars fall back.

Get the minolta with el captain 200. I used a Ford GT.
In one make races, put on weight loss kits.
For japanese compact, the mx-5 will beat the competition. mine was a 1800 rs with a bit of weight loss.
for japanese 70s, use a 240ZG.
Do not put on a stage 4 turbo kit for the gt world championship. The medium and hard tires will wear too quickly, so your only option is pit stops or R1s, both of which SUCK.
Reserve R1s for super speedway 150.

Buy an SLR, put on weight loss kits, win Legend of the Silver Arrow, and win the touring car race with the CLK touring car prize car.

^^^ Overkill much?

Well I don't overuse Bob that much, I did before when I last played the game. Working on the GT World Championship in my Blue/White Formula Gran Turismo '04, won first 2 races without having to pit, although I'm not fond of this 18 lapper. Also won the truck races, more rallies, Scwarzwald Liga B, Boxer Spirit, a lot. I'm somewhere around 40%.

Winning the 1 Series Trophy got me a shiny new Jaguar XJR9 Race Car. That I sold. :D Also bought a Toyota Sera that I tuned up. Just some general news and other info.

/\ Big mistake...you can only win the XJR-9 Race Car once, which you get for reaching 50% completion.

It's also available for purchase, I'm not worried and I didn't need it that bad.

On The El-Capitan endurance race I used the Amuse R1 for 200 spec points. When I ran it just to run it and win the car I used the 350Z LMRC
Also used the Amuse R1 on the 4hr and 24 hr ring races as well as Tokyo Grandvalley and Suzuka endurance races 200 on all of them though the 4 hr nurburg race was tough. had to start it with N1 tires to get 200 points

I used the Pagani Zonda LM for El Capitan and Nurburgring 24gr, GVS I used the FGT, and the Zonda LM for the other Nurburgring endurance. (4hr.)

That Zonda LM would make for a boring race as it totally outclasses the cars you are racing against on El Capitan and the 4hr ring race.

I remember the first time I ran the Laguna Seca race I used the Amuse for 200 spec points and fell just short of the win due to a miss calculation of pit stops. I finished second by about 100 feet. That was a blast racing flatout for all those laps and barely missing. I turned around and raced it again with proper pit strategy and won by 1 lap. Both races were very enteraining.

Well you can call me one who is determined to win- I do overkill sometimes. I also use B-Spec, because I have no patience for Endurance, which is a personal decision if you ask me.

I use over powered cars for the B-Spec races too and sometimes just to see how many times I can lap them. The real fun is in the tight races though.

Hahaha, i'm with you there. Back when I played the game heaps I didn't even have the patience to do a single GT Championship race... Except now that im a bit older I would love to give it another shot... Just need to find those AV Cables.. :ouch:

Today, working on more tunes, beat all the other missions. (meaning I sold the Tank Car) Just testing cars AND working on a personal Arcade Mode report, although you guys probably won't get to see it.

Great suprise for me, just went to check the old car lots and found the black beauties. Bought the R92CP. (either that or the 787B) And beat the PD Cup.
