I am not surprised it lost. He bogged down off the start and it was clear the driver in the SLR timed his shifts better. The SV also has that massive wing so its acceleration at high speed was also at a disadvantage. The SLR 722 is very fast but I think with the right run the SV would be quicker. The SV is more of a track car then a bahn burner.
As a side note that was one of the best episodes of Top Gear I have ever seen. No other show can be as hilarious and epic as Top Gear.
