Return of the Murcielago SV (Promo. Vid Post 133)

I would be thinking that this SV would meet your final criteria there. Well, in general, I think all of the Murcs fit that bill. I would not be confident driving a car that size through most city streets. Its hard enough to drive a Town Car through Miami Beach, I can't believe how difficult it would be in a Murc.

And I think Porsche should stop making Cayennes, Ford should stop making Mustang model after model, & Aston Martin should put a bullet in the new Lagonda.

The fact is, what we think should be is not what the manufacturer wants. I'm only bringing up the history of the SV name because you seem to think the SV logo meant it was a RWD car when SV had nothing to do with the drivetrain.

Within the automotive circles that I frequent, SV is a symbol of RWD simplicity due to the Diablo SV and its near god-like status amongst Lamborghini fans and owners. Even current Diablo owners within that group are suprised that Lamborghini put the SV badge on a AWD car!

Write out the history if you like, I was just letting you know that if you are typing it out for me i'm not learning anything new!

Although I do say that I (and I'm sure many others of us) would really like to see a Lamborghini that was less of a glorified boulevard cruiser with excellent track abilities and more or a track monster that is going to be impossible to drive on the roads like the Countach was.

Even though these cars probably are easier to drive than the ones from some 20 years ago, they are probably still not easy. I would love to have the chance of driving one of these 'glorified boulevard cruisers'. I'm pretty sure it's still pretty raw :)

911 Carrera is different, that's just because I often see suitmen driving them. What I'm saying, I think you should be careful of calling them boulevard cruisers. I mean, with these modern cars being hard enough to drive as they are with less than perfect visibility etc, I think driving any 'supercar' would be a good challenge :)

If you're looking for that, this as Brad said, should fit your bill. That or a Superleggera, or hell, even the LP560-4 which can allow for both cruising & tracking without any issues. :)

That may be so, but at the end of the day mate, the SV symbol has nothing to do with the drivetrain. :)
 
And really guys, how many people are spending $400,000 on these "hardcore" models just because they have 20hp and are down a couple hundred pounds? Those people will buy race cars.

I'd definitely believe that this car will be no Aston Martin. Although race car? Maybe. I think I'd have to hear more about it first.

Those would be great cars if I wanted to stay in the brand, but if I was looking for a race car type thing, I'd probably get a Zonda.

But then again, I'd probably chose a Spyker over a Gallardo so it's all pretty subjective.

I'm just giving my opinion, which just so happens to be the opinion of many. I don't think I even know one person who is 100% happy that the new SV is AWD and not RWD!

A few own several modern supercars, some just a single classic supercar, others just own a 'regular' car.

Then again, just because you can't afford the car doesn't mean your opinion isn't valid...

I got to see 2 of them last week. I was so stunned when I saw them that I actually spent a good 30 minutes just walking around and looking at them from all angles.

I guess it's just me, but the car looks weird to a certain point with all the bits and pieces. It's not vet Lambo like...
 
Does the nose lift up somehow like the Enzo and a few others do to clear parking lot entrances and such? I ask because that last picture makes the front look awfully high - the fender gap is much higher than it is in the grass shot.

The air suspension has been a standard feature on Lamborghini's since the Diablo's, though the latter have a tendency to go out much earlier & cost an arm & a leg to replace.
 
I think a lot of exotic cars have that feature standard. It'd make sense anyways. I'd hope so anyways because if I were to own an LP640 around this area (yeah right) I would hardly be able to drive it anywhere with all the badly angled driveways and speedbumps. Especially our driveway the Roush just barely clears scraping it's front fascia when it backs out and look how high off the ground it is.
 
God this car has a sense of theatre about it...and I'm turn between the yellow and orange. I want to see a satin black one!
 
White would be interesting too.
 
They tested this on TopGear this evening and it looked and sounded amazing, it went round the TopGear track in the same time as the Enzo but lost (only just mind) a long drag race against the McLaren Mercedes SLR 722.
 
I am not surprised it lost. He bogged down off the start and it was clear the driver in the SLR timed his shifts better. The SV also has that massive wing so its acceleration at high speed was also at a disadvantage. The SLR 722 is very fast but I think with the right run the SV would be quicker. The SV is more of a track car then a bahn burner.

As a side note that was one of the best episodes of Top Gear I have ever seen. No other show can be as hilarious and epic as Top Gear.

By the by, It didn't happen to involve Clarkson riding on a brand new steam locomotive, did it?
