Well........Now that you come to mention it, we could do with indicator lights when entering the pits!.......only jokin! Indicators is something you really dont need......

p.s.......Do any of you remember the Mazda RX8 Original Concept car in GT3.......When you raced at night (like on SS5) the car had white lights at the back in the brake cluster that where always illuminated.........PD managed to have white lights on a back of a car then.........so why not now! :scared:

"If we put reverse lights they are going to ask for turning lights, and if we put turning light they are going to ask for exaust smoke, what next?"

Maybe thats why!!!

and whats wrong with added detail. Are you afraid. Will you freak out when you boot up GT4 and see stuff that should be there?

it would be nice to have all the we can remember in the game, but im happy with gt4 as it is, EVEN WITHOUT ONLINE.... :indiff:

NFS4 had indicators and all lights, it adds a nice element of detail to the game. Obviously GT doesn't need this, brake and reverse lights and exhaust smoke does happen with real cars so why not in a game replicating them.

Little details add to a game not massively but they leave a lasting impression. :)

I hope when you go over 100km/h in the old corrolas and old cars like that that you can here the bing , bong.:D

Reverse gear races eh??? Thats the only reason I can think why you should need reverse lights in GT4...

Well, wings for one thing. Retractable tires, sunroof, eject button, parasailing (on a snowboard on nursnow!!), rear wheel steering, nitrous oxide, the list goes on baby

If it's worth modelling the cars, it should be worth modelling them down to the last detail. If anyone knows this, it should be PD. I'm honestly surprised that with the level of detail they've put into the cars, they'd leave out something as obvious as back-up lights.

It's not going to take anything away from the game, but it would add that extra touch every time you saw them, like the bottom-out sparks in GT3 did for me.

There's already nitrous oxide..

Umm......you try noticing sarcasm over the internet....not easy...

It sure was in this case! And I for one didn't even notice that there were no reverse lights until I saw people online taking about it.

 reverse and using nitro

Wouldn't that just damage your engine more than it already does? Seeing as how it's suppost to make you go forward faster, plus there's only one gear in reverse, so there might be some problems.. :ouch: (And I know you were using sarcasm...)

We need more nitrous oxide..... :scared:

2 of your biggest bottles for my SR20-powered civic!

Seriously though, I can see Nitro having a place in GT4. Why not? If you can do it in real life, then sure.

It's not called Gran Turismo: The real selective driving simulator.

Maybe it should be I don't know.

This is where some one says "it's not a modding simulator" in a crap attempt to look smart, just like the "it's not a crashing sim" idiots.

They're idiots? You're the one who won't buy GT4 unless is has cows in it. Idiot..

*sarcasm mode on*

Oh yes indeed, I never buy any game unless it has a cow some where, atm the only games I own are call of duty, Earthworm jim and that crap one where you run about fighting demons that look like tomatoes. I was gonna buy Hl2, but I believe it has no cows, so I'll give it a miss.

this is better then Gt4 because it has cows

Why must you act like an idiot? Plus, if you only buy games with cows, why are you here?

Why am I here? Good sir, I am here to spread the word of the cow to you heathens! You may think a cow adds nothing to a game, but I'll have you know that nothing brings a smile to my face like racing along in a fast car, and hearing a faint " moo" as I scream past a cow at 180 mph. You may not understand, but that is where I come in, I shall help you to help yourself, I shall open your mind to why this game NEEDS cows. I only buy games with cows as I believe a cow is for life, not just for christmas. Some one needs to put their foot down on the way cows are ignored in games, thus I boycot games that don't have them.

I hope you understand now my student.

remember, cows have feelings too, every cow hurts...

I also recall something about turbo Spoon engines... lol

but sadly, most people would want that game more than "the real driving simulator"

I didn't even bother to read this for one reason...it's retarded.

Brake Lights are needed...so you can see when jerk off in front of you slams on his brakes...so you don't run into him.

In reverse...you can notice it because the car is not moving...if you do not get out of the way, you are at such a low intelligence level that you should not be allowed to play such games anyway...this is just retarded..it adds nothing to a game where the intention is to go forward at all times as fast as you can...just retarded.

I can't imagine...how many people search so deep to find such faults that have absolutely no affect on gameplay or asthetic value...just baffles me.

Ummm, not trying to be a smart a**, but why in the world would you want to see reverse lights? It's about racing isn't it? Thats like all of the exqusite back grounds, who needs them? It's about racing, who looks out the side window when they are in a race? Physics and competition are what makes a game, I realize it adds to the realism but spend some of that time making an in car veiw. Non the less we are gonna see one heck of a battle between sim racers on the consoles in 2005! 👍

Mr Kwik, it's a car game, the car is one of the main focuses of attention. Real cars have reverse lights, and a game making a big deal of it self for being accurate shouldn't miss such obvious details. No one is saying it makes it play anyless well, but it does detract from the feeling of realism from the game. The cars on the GT4 have the light texture for the reverse lights there, all it would take it a switchable light object near the texture.
