After more then 2 years of learning and playing they changed the core PP system. If you would like thing changed back to before the 2.10 patch Just say "Yes revert it back Playstation". No need to discuss the what the changes were in this thread, only that you want it changed back to the game that you knew for the last 2+ years.

Its Fine, just some cars got Nerfed in PP, some did not. We just will have get used to it.

They did more then nerf some cars. I had a different driving style then most people and used different cars to achieve this, but now after this patch I can no longer use these cars or driving style to be competitive.

So you're saying that you can't adapt.

I'm fine with it. I am actually happier with it. It will put a spin on things and put new interest into discovering the better cars.

SO pd changed the rabbit cars.... BIG DEAL!

So the fact that if you put stage 3 engine tuning on the TVR speed 12 it lowers the PP must be fine with you lot :dunce:. the fact that it dose this shows how bad this change really is !

But it makes sense.. No point increasing the PP if theres no grip.

From what I noticed in my 450pp Street room, I'm seeing a good variety of cars. Before 2.10 you would always see a laughable amount of standard M3's, type R NSX, Evora. Cant forget about detuned LFAs with the motor limiter at like 50 percent either to make 500pp.

The above doesn't happen anymore from what I noticed. Now my lobbies have a good variety of cars being used.

Somebody was complaining about sick and tired of the usual suspect cars somewhere and this is PD response to it. ;)

The PP system didn't come in until nearly a year after the games release, so it wasn't 2 years, just saying.

As for the issue, it hasn't affected me yet so I could go either way.

Nearly a year? I'm 99.9% sure it was there when I got the game in April 2011 only about 6 months after.

Anyway in general it is better so again I'll keep with what they've done and just get them to correct the ones which are clearly wrong. That is not all of them. Overall I think it is a better balance. It'll just take PD a few stabs at it to get it right.

I'm loving it, Nascars are unbeatable in 500-600 pp rooms and I love driving Nascar on road courses.

Amazing.

People complained GT5 has become boring.

PD change the PP to mix up the field.

Now people complain things are too different and want it back to how it was...?

Sorry but online racing is a joke now. At 500pp you have to pick one of a few muscle cars to win on anything but a track like London or Cote d'Azur. Someone in a Supra or Mustang can crash multiple times and still come back to win against good cars that drove well. Good drivers are now finishing 30 seconds apart in a 5 or 6 lap race.

The spread now is ridiculous. It used to be 1-2 seconds per lap between a lot of cars, now it's like 5 seconds and more. MOST cars are now uncompetitive. Any FR car that didn't get its PP downgraded is hopeless (eg Camaro '10.) FFs - don't even bother.

Anyone who thinks this is an improvement hasn't raced online, or is content to only ever use Supras and Mustangs from now on.

Now I have 3 post LVracerGT. What does that have to do with anything. Take a look at what people are saying on the Official forums.

No one is "saying" much actually in the link you posted.

Was the change perfect? No.
Is it an attempt to find competitive balance? Yes.

The changes seem to be a love/hate type of thing so I believe the best route for PDI is to "improve" on the Performance Points system.

They must NOT cater to either side here because both parties feel they are right.

The PP system was in update 1.06 released in February, 2011. I would say that is close enough to 2 years.

The introduction of the PP system was, in my view, the single most important development in the life of the game. Now they have screwed it up utterly. We should not have to simply get used to it. So a few people have had their favourite cars 'improved' against the NSX/CSL brigade. What about my Silvia RM being given a hundred less PP than my BMW 135, even when it has more power, less weight, and more downforce?

This is PD's silliest mistake ever, and there isn't even a way of sending them a message (except perhaps through Kaz's twitter feed, but I don't have twitter). So, whoever has the means, if you're reading this, please get them to change it back. And while they're at it, they can give us the ability to set PP, power and weight limits simultaneously.

the PP system is so incredibly broken it's not even funny, i never race with PP anymore, HP/KG is the most fair but unfortunately most hosts are too lazy to implement it.

PP is kinda ridiculous.

Shuffle race at 480

3 R34 Skylines
2 Evo VI
2 Z4 M Coupes
and 3 Chevelles

Since when was a Chevelle anywhere close to a R34 on track?

^^ How on earth could you set PP, weight and power simultaneously?
So for example you set PP to 500 but want weight set at 1500kg and power at 300hp. Honestly, why bother with a PP setting if you are going to set weight/power anyway?Mathematically it wouldn't add up (too many conflicting variables) but hey what do I know?
Maybe you guys have a job waiting for you at Polyphony for advanced maths calcualations on integrals and differentials? Sorry to be a bit of a troll but I hate it when people think they know better that a software company. Hey, I'm a hippicrit for posting this.

It's not advanced math. If you don't meet all three criteria the game prevents you from entering the track, just as it would now for many more than 3 criteria, like weight, HP, tire choice, drivetrain, tuned or stock, etc.

Are the cars overall more balanced? Because the PP system before wasn't very good at balancing out cars.

Yes I understand the requirments for entering a race but what I am referring to is how the PP, weight and power all relate to each other. If you set the power and weight limit of a room, the PP becomes redundant. The PP is there to replace the power/weight setting of a room **well, as best as it can** but by this logic, you can be a smartarse and set the PP to 200 but make the weight low and power high. Who is to say otherwise?
