I keep checking news sites every week hoping for news from Enduracers about their LeMans series coming to rF2
. I know it's coming but I'm anxious to drive the 458 GT car since I'll never get to drive it in iRacing.

Build 101 released.![]()
Voltaic
Awesome!!! And btw it guys, it says I'm missing my rFactor 2 UI...how do I get this??
gogatrsJust run the installation a second time should fix it.
Just tested out the Formula Renault 3.5 in build 101. The car still drives like somebody forgot to attach the suspension to the car, bouncing around with no roadholding.
Is it really worth paying 40 for a beta? I mean i'm a fan of rFactor but Im not sure Im gonna pay for a demo unless its really good
Do you when, like a date or have they not said yet?$40 is crossing the line of what I would personally pay for to get into a beta test. On the plus side, the devs promised a demo once the retail version comes out, so i'm just waiting for that.
Well I enjoyed rFactor1, even if it was very hard to work out and solve mods etc with a vista, and rFactor 2 does look good, but I'm not sure. I'd like to help out, but I think $40 for a year, thats a lot to ask for. It's worth it if you're a diehard Rfactor fan/modder. Right now it is the very definition of an early beta in terms of quality and content, it is by no means close to a complete product and there are not a great deal of mods out for it.
The mods that are out though are of nice quality, the tracks look amazing on a completely different scale to what we had in Rfactor 1, and they are very well done in terms of surface making them enjoyable to drive. Is it worth the money? I'm going to say no, not yet. not even close. You have a few diehard fans who will defend it to the end, but unless you're one of those guys you're probably not going to get your monies worth at this point.
I'm not really happy with paying to play online. I think its wrong, you buy a game and buy upgrades if they come, but playing online? Its free on PS3, and was for rFactor 1.The point is though that the $40 you pay to take part in the beta will also pay for 18 months of access to the ISI servers for online play as well.
A little background first...
The other day Tim Wheatley tweeted this:
Quote:
Tracked down the Hulme family and got permission for 'Denny Hulme' to be an A.I. name in @rFactor2 alongside 'Jack Brabham' #supersleuth

So another member asked how hard it was to track down families to get permission to use real names for the AI.
Tim's reply was this gem:

They should finish in roughly the right orders, there will be the odd surprise (from the right drivers), some are easy to pass, some harder, some will bump you, some wont, some are better in the wet, etc. All pulled from real stats from the 2012 season, worked out averages, best/worst finishes, % chance of a crash, etc. They also have calculated start skill based on positions gained on first lap. I put a bit of work into that, as I felt it important that faster drivers COULD get slowed up and caught behind slower guys who get better starts. Anyway... I'm rambling. Some historic folks were actually aware of the commercial implications, and some do own the rights to the driver names, as well as their own car, but Brabham wasn't like that, so I needed to go individually.

Of course, it may mean next Winter/Spring
Don't be so sure, they wrote it w/o any solid source.
Tim already requested them to change it. http://isiforums.net/f/showthread.p...lled-the-beans-)?p=93137&viewfull=1#post93137
