Alright! So, what's the story on the Z4 GT-E mod??

This VirtualR quote sums it up nicely...

UnitedRacingDesigns has released the first ever preview video of their Endurance Racing X payware mod for rFactor 2.

The video shows a lap at Mid Ohio with an early version of the Bayro E5, a V8-powered contender racing in the mod’s GT class.

Endurance Racing X will come with cars in three different classes, featuring both big and small prototypes as well as GT class, mimicking a successful international sports car racing series.

The cars will be sold in packs selling for less than five Euros, the team is also working on matching tracks for the mod. Users who don’t want to spend any money can look forward to a freebie as well.

I wish I had recorded the second one, but this one had some excitement the beginning hehe;

been lurking around...

how safe are is the racing? looks like a far few knocks there...
what type of safety rating/if any is implemented?

How was it last night Wiz?

It could have gone better!

I got a late start so the server didn't even get turned on until after 9:30. bigREK showed up and it was just the two of us the whole night.

On the positive side of things, the Historic F2's are a ton of fun! So expect to see them again soon. :)

The new historic update isn't that bad!

I won't be running any races this Friday. Instead, I plan to use the time to test & tune for the 1 hour driver swap race with the C6R @ Poznan.

I'll be setting the server for long practice times and we'll just be there tuning, goofing around, and having a good time.

Stop in if you'd like, but don't expect much actual racing to happen.

Voltaic and I are entering the 1 hour driver swap event at Poznan posted earlier in the thread. Wanted to represent GTP but don't know skinning very well.... here's a quick 15 minute job that'll have to do.

I have a couple pretty awesome GTPlanet skins for some different rFactor 1 cars.
You could probably take some of the stuff and adjust it to fit the Vette.

*cough* Or ask Jav. *cough*
Springtime allergies, man...

I don't want to trouble you, but yeah, if you could somehow send me what you have, I sure would appreciate it. I don't know if I'll have time to work with what you have for this particular race, but I'll definitely tinker around with them for the next one.

Made some tweaks to the one I have...

Number plates are way too big but oh well, at least it's not so plain now. I just wish the shaders were working in this build so the colors weren't so washed out. I hope that gets fixed next build. Has anyone found a workaround for this shader issue? Perhaps a better question... is everyone having this issue?

Wiz

I hope you know what you got yourself into with me lol. Looking forward to giving this a try!

I thought I'd share this music I found on YouTube;

Cheers!

PS-Server Update; I finally got a monitor. I am waiting on a friend to check my build and run some diagnostics before I install Win7. Once I confirm all is well, I will install rFactor 1 & 2, go from there.

OK, I hope I installed the skin in the right place Wiz. Here is a quick video I made to show it off!

It won't be this white and pretty when I'm through with it...mwahaha!

Good stuff Voltaic!

Wiz, I'll upload those skin files this weekend if I don't forget. Do you use GIMP?

Hum, I just realized the gray dots at the back of the car are not visible.

gogatrs, are you taking part in this race?

Pretty soon we will have 2 servers running (cross my fingers), we need more folks to show up!

Wiz

Maybe this explains the issue we were having?

"Driver swaps work as advertised for rF1 standards...

One thing I have noticed is with the skins, you'll need to make sure you have the server version of the skin, otherwise it will try and upload/download a new version.

skin file name example: alt#.dds = _20540_alt#.dds
skin file name example: alt#.mas = _20540_alt#.mas

when you join the server as a different car to the car your skin is held in and a team mate is on the server with the car the file will be downloaded to your machine. Once it's downloaded go back to matchmaker, re-enter the server, go into tuning of the team car select the new file with the randomized number added to the alt#.

Then you'll have the same skin as your team mate, who will then either need to do the same thing, join with another car, download, rejoin select the skin, but crucially confirm the random number with their team mate, and then either exit the game and edit it or join in.

If this is not done when you join the server again with the alt#.mas or alt#.dds it will be uploaded to the server and a new server version will be created.

As we are still using rF1 driver swap coding it could cause a issue with driver swaps. As the slightest difference causes issues.

Good news though it does work when you've both got the same skin file selected. No issues...

Big thanks to Noel for that utility... Works a treat!!

No, that's not true. The first driver joins with his skin. The second driver can join as a passenger with any car number, any skin- it doesn't matter. When the second driver takes over, it's seamless. He has the skin, drives off, no problems. My teammate and I have done this a bunch of times.

However there may be an issue with set ups. We'll see how it goes after today's race.

OK, here a quick race recap, Wiz correct me if I'm wrong:

Wiz was running low to mid 1'31" with race fuel, my best lap was in the mid 1'33". In race setup, Wiz qualified 8th out of 15 that took part. Right from the beginning as I entered in spectator mode, required of the 2nd driver, I was unable to load the saved setups. Wiz gave me the information and I manually changed my settings to match his.

Wiz managed to get to 6th place and was running strong until an unfortunate crash that damaged the car. He was forced to come in for repairs, I think it took 80". At this point he was last by a long margin, however maintaining consistent fast laps he caught up to 8th place.

At around ~33' it was time for the mandatory driver swap. Wiz came in and the timer started. As we were waiting, another car came in in front of us and was moved by the Pit AI back to our spot pushing us out. Wiz saw a "Stop And Go" penalty flash, even though it didn't on my screen we decided to play it safe and execute one. However, as I took over the car it became very clear this was not our setup, nor the default setup. It was a mess! I pitted for the penalty, which apparently was not applicable to me, and got on my way. It took me several laps to get used tho the horrible setup, never reaching 6th gear at any point, slowly shortening the times to the mid 1'35".

In the end, and mostly due to attrition, we finished 8th. Considering the crash with 2.5 slow laps before pitting, the lengthy repairs, the extra pit stops and the horrific setup I inherited, we did pretty damn well. I have to add the competition seemed to race cleanly and safely.

Time permitting, I may upload a race summary video next week. I hope any other participants here did well and had fun. Obviously some bugs still exist in rF2, procedures needing clarification. In the end it was a blast! Wiz is an awesome driver and I learned a lot from watching him. He also had the hardest part of the race, the qualifying and the race start. I hope the bugs are fixed and look forward to the 6 Hour race!

Bad luck, did sound like you had more to show. Better luck next time (if there is a next time).👍

Really interested in getting rFactor2, shows like it is better than compared to where to was a month ago, either if there are still some bugs.

Rfactor 2 is great! However, one of the biggest problems is ease, or lack of updating the game and reinstalling it. It is quite a process at least for a person like me who is not great at computers. Once this is worked out the game will be fine, but it is still in beta, so I guess things like this are to be expected.

Well I know it is a beta so I'm not thinking it will be perfect, unlike some people who buy it, but it does seem to be improving. I am an idiot too at computers so I'm sure I will probably spend a good hour setting it up when I get it.

I just want to try it out, I'm a fan of rFactor and I'm planning on getting a better gaming PC (building my own:eek:) so I thought its probably good idea to start playing the next rFactor.👍

Guys, rF2 is well worth the money and time investment if you are serious about SIM racing. Wiz has been hosting casual races every Friday at 9:00 P.M. EST. Join in!

Wiz, are on? http://isiforums.net/f/showthread.p...vent-for-the-6-Hour-Race-Sign-up-thread/page7

"Next will be a test race on Sunday, 19 May at 11 AM EDT to test the Pumbaa / Alex Coutie energized LMPs. As with the Poznan Corvette race, everyone is welcome and more the merrier (presuming we can get past the current 30 driver limit in rFactor 2)."

I downloaded all the skins from the race. When viewing the replay however our skin is assigned to the wrong driver. Any idea why this is happening?

I also as I hit "Tab" I am unable to see the players names, or ours.

Hit tab again!

Nope. I hit the Tab plenty. rF2 also gets the skins wrong, possibly due to such few numbers available; 00, 03 and 06. I reloaded the replay multiple times, both mine and the server's, our skin kept being assigned to another team.

PS;

"guod has suggested starting at 15.00 GMT for the 6 hour race on June 9th. It's going to be P1 and GT classes.

The P1 race on May 19 is going to start at 15.00 GMT as well. That race will be in the Saulnier Racing P1 car- but fixed up. SimHQ has been working on that car and has made it a lot better."
