ok im sure this is a stupid question, but why do yall refere to cars as ricers, or a quote from somebody, "burn rice not oil?" is rice a synonym for another word that i dont know about?

I particularly liked this "ricer" definition:

"noun, any person who adds downforce to the rear end of a front wheel drive car in order to achive quicker acceleration"

1 who has little to no respect for muscle cars but can respect imports that cant break the tires loose.

"is that a lawn mower or just another honda?"

Im defently not a ricer, im more in love with the Cobra Jet and Chevelle SS than and Integra or Supra.

im just sick of hearing about it
this whole forum is plagued with rice related threads

An Integra or a Supra aren't "rice". They are both very good STOCK vehicles. An Integra or a Supra with £11,000 of bodykit, stickers and redundant exhausts on them, which cause increased aerodynamic drag and mass, thus reducing vehicle performance would be "rice".

Similarly a Chevelle or a Cobra aren't necessarily free of "rice". Stick a carbon-fibre effect touring car spoiler, neon underglow and a 4 million watt stereo system (increased mass, reduced aerodynamic efficiency, neons...) and you've got pure American rice. Maybe teriyaki even - taking acceptable food/cars and throwing soy sauce over them until they're unpalatable.

"Rice" is not ANY Japanese car. It's a frame of mind - that frame of mind starts with "go-faster stripes" and just goes on from there.

Well its about overall Gt-3. It has no specific category. Pluss this is the main discussion forum, so from the looks of it, this is the correct forum.

And Famine, I'd gladly take the SS over a Integra anyday.

I'm moving this to a more appropriate forum. Basing my decision on it's relevance to Cars in General, rather than GT3.

whoawhoawhoa son...you cnat classify the 4 million watt stereo under rice. Ive got a 1200 Wat system ina ****ing camaro...dont u ever call that car rice :banghead: That system costs a ***** of money and for it to be called rice is the gravest of insults. Now...i agree with everything else that you said...but the stereo thing was plain out insulting.

Good Call!

I was careful to put the "and" on there - I don't consider a nice system to be "rice" - it's the cumulative effect... Like that van with the stereo system so loud it's impossible to turn it on when you're inside the vehicle.

Every car I've ever seen modified to within an inch of it's life with spoilers, splitters, tin cans, hacked springs and so on and so forth has had slightly dodgy garage music thumping out of it. What chance of hearing an ambulance? The buggers have probably removed their wing mirrors to save weight...

Scenario:

A guy pulls up by the lights next to you. He has the same car as you, and wants a drag race. He spent 5k on engine mods, you spent 5k on a stereo sytem. Who do you thinks going to win?

Son? I'm 10 years older than you, you pillock.

Did you actually READ any of what I said, or just go all reactionary because I used the word "rice" with "Camaro" in the same sentence.

A Camaro is a good car. A Camaro with a carbon-fibre effect touring car spoiler, neon underglow and a 4 million watt stereo system (by the way, the factorial from 1200W to 4GW is 3333x) is a Camaro that has been spoiled by an idiot, and is thus "riced".

he aint talking to you dude. and YEEEEAH, I can see you are not a ricer... right down to your avatar. as punk rock said, irony is server SO cold... so cold it should freeze your mouth.

GT40 I think you might be using that term just a bit to loosely. What's this about a Z being a fuel injected rice cake? Now your avatar on the other hand...

haha...chill man...i call everyone son. And i doubt its possible to have a 4 million watt system put into a car. I took your expression to be a large exaggeration. I only had conflict with te fact that you were discriminating against lare stereos.
