I just recieved the news... :( many "famous" people i really found interesting died this week...

on bhmotorsports and if u check any rally news websites it should show up on a few...

There's nothing about this anywhere, not on his website, nor on WRC.com...

Its just been on the Radio (Radio One) and details are also on the BBC news website

Richard Burns Dies

A great shame as he was a driver I have respected and followed throughout his career, hard to believe it was only two years ago that news of his illness was first made public (a year in which he still finished fourth in the WRC and lead for most of the year).

My thoughts are with his family.

... are you sure? Where did you hear it?

This is quite sudden...!

It is true, the BBC is where I first saw it, there's too many sites putting it up to be false. Unfortunately, it's not sudden either, he was taken ill in 2003. I met him a few times when he was first starting out as he grew up near me, he was a nice guy. 👎

I knew that he was seriously ill a while back, but this is a shock and very sad news... :guilty:

RIP

My respect for Richard Burns is huge so to hear this is a massive shock.

Such a shame and i hope he is in peace now.
Condolences to all his family and friends.

This ought to be in the Rumble Strip, along with the Pat Morita and George Best threads, I think.

People may be unaware of this event due to poor media coverage.

Who other legendary people died?

Richard was a great rallier. You will be remembered 👍

Yes it is. It's mentioned every 15 minutes on Radio Five Live and every 30 minutes on Sky Sports News, Sky News, BBCNews24 and Grandstand.

RIP Richard Burns.

Same day as George as well, I only heared earlier today.
