Ok, say you buy an old car that has 40k mileage. With regards to the "increase rigidity" mod, and the "body rigidity refresher plan", what I want to know is this:

Do you need both?

If you use "body rigidity refresher plan", you return the body to standard condition.

If you use the "increase rigidity", you make it stiffer than standard.

So, on a 40k mileage car, can you just increase rigidity, taking it stiffer than standard, without having to pay 50k for the plan? Or do you need to use the plan, so it's back to standard, and then use the rollcage?

Hope that made sense!

if you dont refresh it and use the rigidity it stays messed up. if you refresh it and then stiffen it, it gets stiffer

What sort of an effect do these mods actually have on lap times?
Depends on the car - all benefit from the refresher plan (IME) but some have been reported to be worse after increasing rigidity. I have found increasing rigidity to be useful on the few occasions when I have used it but that is fairly rare. I tend to use it when I have increased hp well beyond that intended for the car, e.g. on the Peugeot I basically turned into a race car for the 206 Cup.

theres a 206 cup? have to look into that ;)

refresher wil make the car handle like its new... it is not nesecary but you can do it... rigidity? well there are mixed reviews on that. try it and see.

yeah it's actually one of the hardest series in the game, unless you wimp out and spend 3/4 of a million bucks on a 206 rally car. try it with your car completely stock and it becomes the hardest (formula cup notwithstanding) 👍

you dont race against the rally car do ya? if you dont race against the rally car then this'd be fun! :D
no way...you race against 206 rc's and cc's...or at least thats what they stacked me up against when i did it

Would have to disagree - pick the right mods and it is a walk in the park (for 200 a-spec points) - Speedster Cup leaves this one for dead in the difficulty stakes.

You are not going to win this in a stock 206 - absolutely no way. Your opps are running cars with big hp increases and they are wearing R5s.

Really? You thought it was harder than the Opel Speedster series?

EDIT: Didn't read the whole thread - Moloch's got the right of it. So far the Opel series has been the toughest......but D@MN was it fun!

And fun it was, specialy on motorland, where the faster competition just kept pitting every lap :) ... nice tyres, those R5's :sly:

I'm working on the 206 races right now, and they are some of the hardest races in the game. My '99 206 is fully hard-tuned (no wing), but it's still not easy until you mix the tire setups: R4 for the back, R2 for the front.

sometimes the refresher plans are needed, on the LMP cars, because they shake voilently if you leave get loose. Although this doesnt seem to effect bob, it does make it impossible to handle sometimes especially at high speed
