I've had this thread collecting dust in the 'local gatherings' section of this forum and thought i may as well throw it into this section and see if any of you guys hook up for some LAN's (beit 2 or a full 6 player grid). Remember, LAN times will be accepted only. A small photo of your LAN set up would help with authenticity. Offline racing is one thing, but LAN adds alot (especially to this historic circuit). So if you are lucky enough to have some cables, hub, and some racing mates then please feel free to include some laps of the Nurburgring into your LAN schedule and send in your times. Below you will find the rules and such, and a small ZiP download is availalble and will be updated accordingly when new times come in. The ZiP file is the main timesheet for 'Road' cars using 'Road' tires. Other catagories are also included in a seperate timesheet over at the SoGT forums (the GTP has a limit on how big your atachements are :( ). Anyways, enough babble from me, if you LAN than this may be for you. if not, you may still get a kick out of the timehseet (if you look hard enough you will see a fair few regular offline racers, and even a certain GTPlanet Div1 racer and former JGTC champ VTRacing. :sly:

Heya boys.

This is an ongoing timesheet involving road going cars with road tires in LAN mode (other classes of car are also catered for though). I've been running it for a while over at the Spirit of Gran Turismo forums and TorcTalk, and quite a few times are currently listed. Also started a similar thread at the GT Times forum and some other basic threads at various other sites around the general simulated racing community.

An Excel spreadsheet is available for download at the SoGT forums - http://www.spirit-of-granturismo.de/forums/showthread.php? or you can simply PM me your email addy and i can send an attachement to you. A very basic timesheet is located below. For all the bells and whistles, drop me a line or download the spreadsheet as it is really good to print out and have handy at your next LAN.

Its not a race, just a way to enjoy some laps with your mates in some of your favorite cars. Just like in real life people like to drive around the Nurburgring in various cars and compare times. Drive clean, and give each other lots of racing room. I don't even mind staggered starts if racing the clock is what it all about (but i tend to like the mad dash at the start *hehe*).

The inspiration for this style of combined LAN results is from the ole GT3 i-link race complilations that Joe Racer and Vanishingpoint used to run (ah the memories of the ole iLRS)

--------------------

TRACK - Nurburgring Nordschleife

MODE - LAN Mode (you must have at least 2 drivers on track)

TIRES - Road Tires (wear set to OFF please)

LAPS - 2 to 4

CARS - ROAD CARS (under 300kW) using road tires is the main class. But also provided for are some seperate catagories such as ROAD CARS (over 300kW) using road tires, TUNER CARS (ie Nismo, Spoon, RuF etc...) using road tires, and an OPEN CLASS (which has an open car/tire choice). Try and use cars that you have a genuine interest in. This is NOT a win at all costs type event, just have fun in some of your favorite rides around this magestic piece of road

WHAT TO SUBMIT - Name, Time, Car, LAN location, LAN date, Number of racers on the track with you, Number of laps, your fastest lap, and controller used.

--------------------

The whole idea of this is to combine different LAN results from the 'Green Hell'. Its sort of a simulated version of real life timesheets around this legendary course. So at your next LAN you may like to include this race for a bit of added fun. Road going cars with road going tires is the main class that i'm interested in (but other classes are catered for). I've run a few 4-5 player LANs, and quite a few simple 2 player LANs, and find this a good way to enjoy Gran Turismo and in particular this circuit.

What ya waiting for, get into it. . I'll be keeping the German SoGT thread alive, but i'm unsure when and where new times will come in. And with soo many quality LAN groups out there i'm sure more times will come in. Remember, it does not have to be a big 6 player LAN, a simple two player hook up is just as acceptable.

Would be good to get a few more Aussie times though, so any guys who live in the Northern NSW / SE Queensland area of Australia then don't be shy in asking for a few races Ithe more the merrier)

Below you will find a very BASIC outline of the results thus far. I'd recommend getting hold of the Excel spreadsheet and priniting it out and having handy at your next LAN. But i would say that considering i'm the one typing it out

btw - big kudos to Tony Randall for the logos and Joe racer for his advice on the spreadsheet and classes.
