Yeah, that will be a tough one, ABS i mean. I tried manual for the first time today and did pretty well though I did have trouble picking out the noise the LF-A makes near the redline. Otherwise, by lap two I have each up and downshift about right.
But ABS, I don't know about that. I just can't get past pushing the brakes down hard and locking them up. My car IRL doesn't have ABS but I have my foot to control a pedal for feel. Here I have a finger to push a trigger button with no direct feel or resistance.

Exactly how I feel. I am actually still using an automatic transmission though. There are times where I realize how beneficial a manual would be. Maybe I'll give it a try sometime soon.

I have been surprised by how easy it is to make money in Rivals, but I am not complaining!

Gotcha I didn't think about that use of the rewind. I figured it was pretty much useless in rivals but that makes sense. And yeah, I tried with no abs and I'm just so used to slamming the brakes, I'm not sure if I can get used to it. I can deal without the tcs though, hopefully that will help through the corners. Are you using a wheel or the controller?

Oh and it doesn't select the next person on my friends list or car club because I'm not in a car club, and I don't have any friends who have played Forza haha. Simply enough explanation right?

Thanks a lot for the help man. Btw, this is Dead_Poetic from GTP, not sure if you remember me or not.

There's a name I haven't seen in ages - nice to see you here 👍
I'm using the controller, no wheel for the foreseeable future, sadly.

So, using this method over the course of the last two nights, starting at roughly 1 million in my account, I'm now sitting at 2.8 million... after snagging nearly 2 million worth of metal on the Auction House, one of which was a Daytona Coupe for a million (a deal as far as I'm concerned)! I'm using the Dunsfold Dynamo race as my go-to for now, and I've actually run into ghosts doing the same thing as me; the tell-tale sign of braking right before the finish line is a giveaway . I've probably got about a quarter-second left out there, maybe half of one if I push it, but it's an easy race to do this on, and the Elise is quite fun to drive, so I recommend it.

Oh yeah, forgot: started at 4800-something on the overall leaderboard. Now, 488th :D

Yeah it really started being appealing for me too. I got up in the top 5% in the top gear starter car race. I could probably get even higher as I just won twice very easily. Its only giving my 50k now though, whereas yesterday I was getting 100. Oh well.

Slip, I tried for like an hour this weekend trying to beat your Mazda time on I think Tsukuba. I was using an 89 MR2. Downloaded several tunes, tried to do my own. Yea, just wasn't happening with that car. You got that Mazda dialed in nicely!

I love rivals, took the superb Autolog idea and, in my opinion, made it better. Everytime I sit down to power through some world tour events, I find myself jumping into rivals as soon as I get a notification of being beaten and then spend hours chasing..

So addictive! And with my Fanatec GT2 arriving tomorrow, I hopefully will be able to improve my times.

I've only really touched the Top Gear Rivals at the moment, I'm usually in the top 1% no aids, and if I'm trying to beat someone, Manual gears with clutch (depending on the car)

I seem to have the problem of going as fast as I possibly can, so I can never really best my times, suppose it doesn't help when one of my friends is pretty equal to me so I usually set him as my rival.

@FPScott, you're getting 0 credits?!!?! even if you don't beat the time of your rival you should still get Difficulty and Race feats bonus'

I REALLy wish I could get paid for doing rivals, but I always receive 0 credits when I beat some of you on really clean laps :(

That's strange, are you beating people faster or slower than your own times?

Anyways, got another million or 2 running rivals earlier. Did some auto cross events.

Yup rivals mode is a very easy way to make money. I can usually average about 1 million in 45 minutes depending on the event I am doing.
But it does requre some sandbagging. Slam the brakes at the finish line or even do a victory spin if you have enough time to work with.

just don't beat rivals by anymore than you need, :) then you can get them again for even more, IF they beat your time :D

Thanks buddy! Looking at the leaderboards, seems I stumbled upon one of the dominant cars, since at the time it was just a) my livery project car, and b) the only real car I had for that class. Lemme know if you want the tune, I could send it on over.

My general goal is to have the menu tell me 100,000 bounty for every event... still have a ways to go, especially on the frustrating track day ones.

I have not been able to play for a few days, I am scared to check out how many rivals messages I have. It was not pretty last time haha.

I have had a lot of those messages the last few days. I sandbagged more than half of them so I knew it was coming. So for now I have just been hitting delete. I will probably work on some of those over the weekend. Just needed a break from it for a few days.

I did manage to get my Dodge Dart into upper the 10's last night in the monthly rivals mode drag event!! The only 2 people on my friends list above me are the ones using the leaderboard Mustang. I refuse to use leaderboard cars so I am very proud to get the Dar into the 10's. :dopey:

Yeah, the messages were cool at first...but now....ugh. I deleted like 40 of them the other day alone, and that was in one day. Just about as annoying as all the shared cars messages I get in the club.

I dont mind the rival messages too much. When I am into that mode I sometimes challenge each one unless I already know I cant run any faster in that event. As people beat my times I wont see as many of those messages. Some of my friends are VERY fast. Much faster than I am.

As for the club messages, I left my first club because it was rediculous. I was getting 40-50 messages a day from that club. Car added, member added, and about 50 of those. So I went to a much smaller club and only get maybe 2 messages a day.

I get so many rivals messages for the ones I don't really care much about lol.

So many Senna special messages :P

Also, I think I got #1 in the FPM club leader board on the top gear Nurburgring challenge (the SR8 one) with a spin or two lol.

It's been said many times before, but I gotta say -rivals rocks! It's particularly important for F4 because the AI is so meh. And the online is umm variable...

Does anyone know if T10 plans to refresh or add to the rival challenges regularly? I'm guessing 'monthly' is as the name suggests, but it would be good to know that others will be updated too (not too soon though.. I'm still enjoying chasing times with them ATM).

^ Yep new seasonals are up now.
Can bag a Unicorn car too if you have the Aventador.
100 being given out at random each week.

Not enough hours in the day for all this lol.

I was wondering when those would switch out - a notice in-game would be handy, of course, but it's nice to see regardless.

I'm continuing to sandbag the Open Time Attack events as my main money-builders, though I've actually seen my overall rank for that drop nearly 100 since I started doing it. Probably because I'm chasing fractions, but still.

I've found my two favourite weapons for the Autocross events - a B-class Mini, and an A-class, LS-powered Solstice. Both change directions quickly and are fairly small, the Solstice being more adjustable and a good chunk faster, of course.

I've been doing the Corvette on Road America, made about 2,000,000 from that alone :P I'm still a fair bit slower than I can be, I always lift off up the hill and cross the line literally a couple of hundredths in front of my rival :D

Ah! Good timing! And yes, not enough hours in the day...

That new drag event is just throwing money at me! Got just outside of the top 1,000 with a Volvo S60 too :D

I went from 1.5mil to 4mil today using the Corvette race car at Road America, had done even more than that before on the same trial, just braking at the finish line and winning by small margins each time, it's great. Eventually I cracked a lap and hit 42nd with a few minor mistakes.:D Now I need to find out if my save is corrupted or not, having some problems with various words and numbers being replaced by symbols.

I just posted my first top 1% time with the Aventador. It rocks.
