The Amuse 380RS couldn't do it so a regular Z33 hasn't got much of a chance either.
The Superleggerra 380 'Z' gets alot of attention, but that's it's downfall, everyone is looking at that but not looking over their shoulder at the other Z's that are queuing up to take a pop at it.
When the superleggerra is power limited, this means it can make up for it's shortfall in power, but race the superlegerra when it has to stick it power limiter at 100% and it starts to come unstauck, especially when you're 'PP' racing rather than power to weight racing.
The 350Z is probably one of the most underrated cars in the game, most people overlooking it because Nissan makes the Skyline, so why bother with the Z. I was eaxctly the same, I'd laugh and scoff at the 'Z', occasionally being seduced by the bad boy looks of the superleggerra to take it for a spin.
A couple of months ago I was testing cars for a race series and thought I'd try the 350Z RS (from the Gran Turismo garage), the car was stunning to drive, simply awesome corner speed. Then the NISMO Z tune, another car that is seriously fast, then a guy in our race series tried the premium 370Z and started getting great results in that too, especially at the tracks where a balance of power and handling were important, instead of one or the other.
I tested your R34 (535pp) a few days ago, again, you guys done an awesome job on it, I had to add a torque conroller (car now has 24% fr - 75% rr split) as the rear wheels were not heating up in sync with the front, plus I adjusted the brakes couple of clicks, again, it's another superb tune. I put it 'head to head' against my 530pp R34, lap times were identical, not much in it really - but both were tuned very diffferently and felt similiar i.e. balanced and fairly neutral.
The C5 Vette was pretty awesome too, but a bit too much wheelspin as I'm a pad user with a heavy 'right foot', I changed the diff, left everything else as you guys setup and it was one of the most fun cars I've driven in the game. Fun with a capitol F x100. The rear end breaks away a fair bit, but it's progressive, it doesn't 'snap', so it's easily caught and results in you looking like a typical top gear car review, powersilidng constantly. Considering the amount of sideway action, the lap times were not to shabby either (for 530pp sports softs - no power limiter road cars).
After driving a few of your tunes (as above and also the NSX and Esprit), I have no doubt that if some of the different incarnations of the Z were given a chance, it wouldn't surprise me if you guys could find one that would be a true giant killer. Especially the 350Z rs - that really is something special.
Beating guys with their superleggerras with an RS is one of the best feelings in the game, they're gobsmacked.
I never was a Z fan, I used to laugh at them and totally ignore them - heading straight to the Skyline / GTR's instead, but not anymore. Ignore them at your peril, go up against someone who has one dialled in, you better be ready, or you're in for one helluva fight.
Great tuning guys... 👍
I love that Vette
Keep it up, you're doing a great job.
