Is fr car faster in roll start than awd cars?
If so will my gtr with 90/10 bias be faster than 50/50 on a roll start?just wondering as r35 dominates(most cars) on stand still start but never on roll start

Rolling start eliminates the launching effectiveness of 4WD, so most GTRs will fall flat on acceleration after 70+mph. 10/90 will improve acceleration but, because of the power less during transfer to the front wheels, it will still not out-accelerate an equal horsepower RWD car. The R35 TC is a racecar and is not included in this, but still lacks significant acceleration.

The AWD would have to compensate for the power. Like a AWD car with 500hp vs a RWD car with 500hp its the RWD all day the AWD would need at least 50+Hp to have a chance but even then the RWD would more then likely run it down.

AWD has to distribute power among 4 wheels which takes more effort compared to powering just 2. So to your question yeah redistrubing the power as much as possible would help but all 4 wheels are still being powered so you are still losing power, no matter how you set it up the only thing you could do is detach the front diff which is not possible in GT5.

I don't think this relates to GT5. It's only a game, only a game......

How does my post not relate? I was talking about RWD Vs AWD from
A roll. All I did was explain why RWD has the advantage over AWD and I did answer the original posters question.

And to the op's last post yeah there is hope but like I said you would have to race a RWD with at least 50-100 less hp from a roll over 45mph

Is it an advantage in GT5 and/or only in reality? That's what I'm questioning.

Think of it in terms of your 3k runs. Since that style of drag basically takes 4WD launch out of the equation, who will win in a run of a '12 GTR vs '05 no stripe GT? If both had a good tune on them.

In my experience on Indy, RWD, unless highly overpowered by the other car, will pull on 4WD after mid-track. Rolling start would give the RWD car equal launch ability as the 4WD, and the race will be won by sheer acceleration.
