Am I the only one who thinks Spa is 100 times better? I like Route X, I love Spa.

Nope.

Route X looks nice at night and will be good for photos and for me that's about it.

Spa was worth the money, Route X wasn't for me.

Scaff

Route X for racing might make sense if PD will include an X20xx variation with ~2500 hp, designed mainly for top speed rather than downforce. With such a car, people will have to brake before the long banked corners, and speeds greater than 600 Km/h without slipstreaming might be possible.

I did a couple of one make races in practice mode. So boring. Big pack until the first bend where my car is magically 5-10 mph faster than the AI and I win easily.

Its only use for me is to see how fast the cars can go ... however, having owned an S2000 for the last 5 years I seriously doubt a stock S2K can go 157+ like in the game, LOL, so that lack of realism takes away some of the fun too.

I am also really enjoying Route X and the Speed tests, I love the parts of Route X without lights, so it is absolute dark besides my backlit dials glowing back at me.

Just the Speet Test function alone has made it well worth it for me.

There's nothing like thrashing a stock Sambabus around Route X to stupidly loud 80's metal and rock...and crossing the finish line for another lap singing to Electric Dreams is just something special

I'll have to try that, and see whether it beats doing the same in the Caterham with somewhat different music.

The photos I have took today look really nice, I just like how simple the track looks, just had some racing with random players, all in veyrons going well over 300mph without any contact. Those couple of hours flew by.

Come on guys. You wanted Test Course back, and you got one on steroids! Like a similar arguement I had in another thread, if you don't like the idea of paying for it, don't! Also makes no sense that you get something you want but you don't want to pay for it. :ouch:

I can finally have a bit of fun with the Red Bull cars now. Room Cam looks and sounds like a jet taking off. People say this is boring but it adds a new element to the game and I am happy this track is in. Looks fantastic too.

At first I was happy to be getting a new track but I wasn't ecstatic when I found out it was a oval(I was happy about the testing part though). So I bought it yesterday and I love it to pieces, the testing of my cars has gave me a good couple of hours of good testing and racked up a fair amount of mileage doing so.

But the best part about it,has to be the online racing, I like overtaking(who doesn't) on GT5 so having a track where I can drive at 300 MPH+ in a road car overtaking a LMP racer is just great fun, and gives close racing, earlier I beat someone by .001 after a massive slipstream war for two intense laps.

Has route x made online even more fun for you?

i tried it online, and wasnt happy about it. it was really boring.

Typical of todays gamer- can't even be bothered to brake now!!!

Rewind system on GT6 is a guarantee!:grumpy:

What I love about Route X is how the day/night transition works on 2 player mode. To those who do use 2 player mode to introduce friends and family to GT5, it makes the track seem like more than just a massive oval. You could say it actually has some charm and soul to it.

Agreed. Can't understand the complainers. No, it's not Spa, thankfully (Spa's great and all but why would I want 2 of them?), it's a different type of course - it's the test course SO many people have been asking for - it's the new speed test element (fantastic for tuning purposes) - it's finally a reason to race your X1s (something I've never wanted to do but spent 5 hours last night having an absolute blast doing) - and it's beautiful, to boot.

Thank you PD. Can't wait to see what's next.

Honestly, guys, everyone's entitled to their opinion (constructive reasoning is always welcome) but posting negative comments in a thread called "Route x is the best thing since sliced bread" just for the sake of being a stick in the mud maybe isn't the best idea.

You can always create your own thread about how bored you are of it but please stop raining on the parade.

I could disagree, if Route X was a real location, and I was in a real Super car blasting down it I'd love it. But unfortunately, in the game you're not moving in reality so it's not a blast for me.

I personally didn't like it and felt the track is a bit of a waste. The DLC cars pack is awesome though!

Ive been doing a lot of driving on route x, its great for photos, and the online racing is fun, it does make things more fair I think, I had my supra finish a very respectable 2nd against an Aventador, a Gallardo, a 2012 GT-R and this Merc SL65... as for there being no skill involved try holding the slipstream of the car infront while he's trying to shake you... all the while youre doing the same with the guy behind...

ohh and as for not needing skill and it being easy... tell that to the Gallardo driver who was right up my chuff and was about to over take when the rear of his Lamborghini twitched and I watched in my rear view mirror quite simply the greatest spin out and crash I've ever seen.

It is a great track, and a nice change of pace from the other circuits like Spa and the ring

This.
I have spent about 80% of my time just testing my cars out:)

I like the track, especially the excessive amounts of drafting you can do.

The Speed Test is also amazing. I've already tested 12-15 cars, almost all of them stock, and I've been able to compare 0-60 times with 1/4 mile times, and notice how some cars are quick off the line, but completely fall apart at greater lengths.

The only bit of information I would like to know is how fast I'm going at the 1/4 and the full mile marks. The info just tells me the time it took the car to make that distance, but not how fast it was going when it reached that mark.

And a drag mode... I was never really into it, but after doing some tests, I've realized that it wouldn't be a bad idea. Much of the data that comes from the tests are the result of driver skill (shifting, launch, etc.). Honking 1-2-3 doesn't cut it for me.

Eh, don't pay attention to them. You either like it or you don't. And if you do, great!

I like it because it brings a more technical aspect to drag racing, instead of testing out your cars against other people now I can go solely off the time.

If I did get it that would be why. But I'd be happy with just the car pack.

Lost two races last night by 0.043 and 0.068 seconds.
Insane.

How is drag racing done in GT? Are there staging and timing lights? I only boot up GT occasionally and don't remember seeing drag racing. I know there wasn't any formal drag racing when I use to play regularly.

It's not formal at all. With the new testing mode you can test the 1/4 time of your cars, before you would have to drag tune according to how fast other people were.

Any track that requires no braking and very little steering input is still boring to me.

It needed steering input to break out of the draft and avoid someone behind you gaining a draft on you

Route X will be better if they unlock the rest of the track, going down the straight with the bridge there is a sweet left hand massive bank going around and over. Looking at the rear going down the other straight the bank coming back onto the straight looks even better than the other one.

Haven't raced it online yet but it's a little too long and boring for my likings. It's a nice looking track setting though

I do like the crashes too, ploughing the X2011 into the wall on the corners is a blast lol

It's a great track.
I love the layout and the whole over the sea kinda look. It's amazing.

I dont know why people think that this track sucks. You have to respect tracks that have 8-mile straights. I finally 'truely' maxxed my un-tuned X2011 Proto at 299.1MPH thanks to the speed test.
Every track has it's beneficts, like any car does. You just have to find them. With the Route X track, it's top-speed racing, drafting your way up to the podium. Stop hating the track for what it isnt, love it for what it is.

-> As a >MISSING< track activist, I welcome the inclusion of SSRX. However, what really bugs me since the NSX Concept vid was its name itself:

Special Stage Route X

^ Really? Special Stage Route X!? :odd:

-> Many of us thought that the notion of a "Special Stage" is usually a synonym for a closed city-based track (like Cote 'd Azur & Sarthe, not to mention SSR5 & SSR7).

^ But I don't see any part of the 'city' anywhere!! Sure there is a shipping port, a VLA-like landscape, a wind farm, a municipal airport, a possible alternate track, and one odd looking piece of a tower.

...I found out in detail that this Route X is no Special Stage nor even as a Driving Park stage. ;)

-> For it to be a Special Stage, it has to be within the metropolitan area (ie. SSR5/CSR5 & SSR11) within 'the city' itself. Or even an industrial complex (as what SSR11 & SSR7 provided). As what I've seen on the NXS vid, Route X isn't anywhere near a 'city' or an 'industrial park'. ;)

^ From the >MISSING< Tracks thread.

-> It can't also be called as a Driving Park because of the scenery mention above. Although aside from the alternate track, there was an open gymkhana/autocross/drift lot too!

-> For it to be a Driving Park, it does not have any "green" scenery at all. If anyone can recall GT3 and GT4, just look at these vids...

^ All of these tracks are almost at the same area! Just look at their enviroment, they are unmistakenly similar!!!
^ From the >MISSING< Tracks thread.

-> Anyhow I was happy that most GT peeps are happy with the track and heres to hoping that this track won't end up as a >MISSING< track in GT6. :)👍

I love this track online, last night we were organising 6 car 1/4 mile races simply by messaging a start time for all players in the room to see... really good fun :)
