Basically this is (one of many) reasons why I feel online play is extremely overrated.
I've had some epic races (in quick matches) with other drivers who drive fast and clean and where the slightest mistake costs you the win. Several have been won by a few 1/1000s and I've even had a dead heat. Since the very first GT, I've never had that close a win or loss and I've been that engrossed in the racing, my kids are laughing at me when I start leaning on the sofa to help me get round the corners when I'm put under pressure. Priceless fun.
Sure, I'm new, but I'm a long way off saying it's extremely overrated.
👍
@kilesa4568, i don't know what tires you use, but don't go for high grip tires, try to use sport hards only after the 500pp mark. Less grip = better battles.
I've not done an open lobby race yet so had the quick match tyre options they give you. Couldn't it be argued that whatever the tyre compound, with fair racecraft, you'll still have close racing though?
As a rule for me, if it's a race car 600-700+PP, RH. Supercar with similar to lower PP, SS and everything below around 550, SH. I'm coming from single player though so still making the transition.
If the organizers choose lower grip to keep out the non-desirables, I'll adapt.
