RUF race @ Midfield.Join this FAST race!

You should purchase and install all upgrades. Then go to ARCADE mode, choose free run, choose Midfield, choose memory card garage, choose the RUF.The main race screen will come up. Choose the yellow box that says SETTINGS.Choose SUSPENSION.Starting at the top, go right down the list. The previous posts have the settings in order. SR stands for spring rate,RH for ride height and so on. The numbers before the slash are front and after the slash are rear. Notice NASCARnut has spaces between the groups of numbers. These are to break up the settings into the different systems of your vehicle, Suspension, Brakes, Transmission and Differential, and Down force,Skid managment, Traction control.Put the numbers posted into the corresponding places on your settings screen. Go for a test drive. After a while you will begin to know what to adjust to give a desired result. i.e I want it to turn quicker, stop faster, and shift sooner. Give it a try ,you'll catch on.

I haven't tried this yet. But I have a question for AO.
Looking at your settings, I have to ask, with the front of the car higher than the rear don't you increase understeer?
I ususally raise the rear when I want more "turn in".
I'll take a stab at this on in a bit.

*edit*
I've given this a shot. What a frustrating car to try to drive quickly.:banghead:
I haven't tried AO's settings yet. But I really don't want to drive this car anymore.
I did learn that letting off the gas and letting the infamous lift-throttle oversteer help you thru the turns works somewhat.
The biggest lesson I learned is that the RGT at 1100 HP doesn't know which end it wants to lead with.

Oh well, back to FR cars for a bit.

One thing that I've slowly figured out about this game is that real world tuning applies, but not every where.

The reason why I have really soft front springs, and a higher ride height in front, with little down force, is that I utlize the rumble strips to turn the car. having a low, stiffly sprung car riding the rumble strip thorws the car balance off. As we all know, the rumbles tend to pull the car in different directions.

The RUF needs almost surgical precision to manipulate cleanly, but when weilded with that skill, it can be a wonderful car to drive. I wish you had better luck Gil.

I'll look forward to the next one.

AO

It's probably as much my impatience as anything. I want the handling of the Vertigo in everything.:D
I suppose I could go faster if i slowed down, braked earlier etc.

lol. I want the handling of the F090/s. But you can't have everything unfortunately. Dang! I'm still a 1/2 second off from my fastest time! I wish I knew what I did!:banghead: :banghead:

hmm sounds like fun :)

Alright, it's really late, so I'm gonna catch some ZZZzzzzzzz's. I'm leaving with my so far best effort of 1'00.914.
Till tomorrow maybe.:trouble:

will work on this also
bed time for me too
cheers all

Does RUF get is brake parts from old scrapped GT 40's?

Ok, not an imposter here but the real Lotus350 ;)

A warm up time from me , about 15 laps done if that :trouble:

1'00.989

Boom: Nope, RUF gets their brakes from the same place as TVR...

Looks like the Pros' have settled in to the lead spots on this one. Seems Myself, Thinkers, Josh and Nascar will have to settle for sniffing exhaust fumes.

I'll have to talk with my docotr about how much I've been inhaling lately.

Mr. P seems to be working his magic, can you Boom, Lotus and Bollocks point us some insight?

Thanks
AO

I know I'm not first, but how far back am I. Ya know, I can only tolerate so much CO. 1:00.993 Did I beat Nascar?

I've yet to get back on this, so I'm still languishing at 1'01.548. Seeing the time has almost run out...I'm bringing up the rear of the pack.

AO

Got a new time :trouble:

So TVR get's there brakes from the guy's that are selling greased balsa wood brake pad's huh!

Wish I could provide you some insight Der, but I'm flying by the seat of my pants in this race. I have almost 0 experience with the RUF and Midfield is not a favored track of mine. I'm still trying to work this car out. I should be asking you for some pointers! What was I thinking by getting myself into this one?

1:00.786 finally cracked into the 00s
bad news is was up by nearly 5/10ths up on the 1st sector 4 on the second and finally stuck into the wall on the bottom hairpin:mad: :banghead: :banghead: :banghead: :banghead:

can see a 59 in there somewhere just need to refine the setup some more
oh well will be back at the saltmines;) of GT3 tomorrow
