I love the RUF CTR Yellowbird. Its an ungodly fun ball to drive it on the Nurburgring with no TCS or ASM while your on N1's and using a DFP. Man what a blast! There is something I really really liked about my lap's so far, but that info will come later when I get everything in line :)

OMG, I just tried what you said and you're right about it being so much fun - is the something you really liked about youre laps when you nail a perfect drift on some corners ;)

Also, I see what you mean about getting used to RR's Kensei - using the techniques I use in other cars in the RGT worked, but I obviously wasn't going the fastest I could in it. I discovered this when I tried using the same techniques in the CTR and ended up ploughing straight on under brakes, or over-rotating the car all the time. I only managed to get through about 10 corners cleanly first attempt at the Nurb, so I then went and tried to drift the last corner of Tsukuba to try and get a feel for the difference, and after about 10 attempts I got a mini drift going - not spectacular but it definetly helped me understand the difference.

After that, I went back on the Nurb, and it was like a miracle - my car control for the CTR went up a mile! The amount of effort required to keep it in line is similar to the rallying in RBR, I love how you have to left foot brake a lot and fight with the steering, unlike almost all of the other cars in GT4. I also feel the brakes are more realistically represented in the CTR than any other car I've tried in GT4 so far - it takes a realistic time to stop and you CAN'T turn in under the same braking levels as all the other cars.

BTW, for all those wondering about the Stefan video, I found it here:

You can also get both videos, and the 956 Nurb lap here:

Finally, do you have the USB MaxDrive Kensei, there is something I wanted to show you??

The CTR is a very special 911. I'm glad you are enjoying it

OK, nuf of the chatter. I need a tuning guide for the RUFs. I want to race them, but they turn like ****e!

I don't know, maybe looking the the "GT4 tuning and settings" board...that would be logical, right?

RR cars under heavy braking won't turn in like any other car...so yes they will "understeer"....but if you brake sooner in a stright line you won't have the problem.
I have found that setting the brake bias controller to a low setting- such as 7/5 or 8/6 (F/R respectively) will enable you to floor the brake pedal in a straight line and will not invoke ABS. Higher settings will invoke ABS; that is, you will feel and hear the brakes locking and releasing. This is not great for stopping short. Wonderful for the streets, not so for track driving. ABS will allow you to do one cool thing though and that is "stomp and steer." If you like braking while cornering, ABS is for you. I usually set my brakes to a 4:3 ratio front to rear; hence the 8/6 setting above. 7/5 does just as well as 8/6 though for many cars. If I feel like using ABS, I set my brakes to a max of 16/12.

I don't even know if "understeer" is the proper term....(technically I know it is)
I will throw in the term, "understeer into snap-oversteer" as a feeling you can get with the RR platform RUF vehicles. I'll be braking-braking-braking and as I think I've got the car settled, the rear end starts to come around. A RR platform car does this all too well because the weight in the rear acts as a pendulum.

but more like"don't turn in while braking".
So what you are saying is don't trail brake.
kensei
Brake sooner, turn in slower and exit faster....
I believe Porsche themselves said, "Slow in, fast out." Sounds like a good recipe for late apexing if they want "fast out."

Basically the key is, "Get some weight over the nose"

I was wondering what some of you are using, as far as settings and modifications go, on your RUF's to get:
1. Max Speed
2. Best Handling

Also, I was curious if the over all handling has improved on the RUF's.....I know on GT3 the general theme was understeer (depending if you had the correct tires), from the fact that most Porsches are 4WD.

Also any additional thoughts on RUF
Anyone looking for RUF tuning should go here: https://www.gtplanet.net/forum/showthread.php?t=60072
There was some slight mud slinging going on, but it's over now. You may feel free to enter in your "Doctor Whites" without fear of getting them dirty.

Most porsches arent 4WD, they're RRs.
