has there ever been a 4 door GT-R?

I think Sniffs may have been referring to previous GT-R's being based on the same body as sedans, much like the M3 is based on the same body as 3-series sedans...?

In any case, I think there may have been a 4-door R33 GT-R, but in very small numbers...

No show for the GTR at LA, wonder if they will confirm anything at Detroit this week?

Untill then, I would rather see the Nissan Urge in production than the GTR... But thats just me...

A special Autech 40th anniversary 4 Door Skyline GTR (R33) was released in limited numbers, a Nismo version (using the 400R upgrades) was also released in even more lmited numbers.

Vipe: welp, you know how they never give americans originals *shrugs*
tell you what...send me an S15, and I'll hunt you up something your looking for :P

I still wonder if the Skyline GTR was ever offically sold in the US, would it be as popular as it is today? If we were to look at the 1999 R34 GTR brand new, it would cost roughly $89,500 (converted Yen to USD). Considering that price, it's main competition would have been the Chevrolet Corvette Z06, Porsche 911 Carrera, Dodge Viper GTS ACR, and Acura NSX... Extremely tough competition espically when considering the performance of the GTR is actually below that of the M3, GTO (LS1 and LS2 models), SVT Cobra ('04), Evolution IX, and STi (just to name a few)...

, don't forget also below the Toyota Corolla, Honda Civic, Cadillac Deville, golf cart and a shopping trolley (just to name a few)...

...Seriously though... Is this not the most overrated car to ever be produced? I did a HUGE rant about how much this car sucks a few months back on another website, and people were pissed...

"How could you call the R34 such a bad car!? The stock block can handle 1000HP!!!"

"The R34 will run circles around any M3 or SVT Cobra! You cant prove it!"

...Then I did, and then they still *****ed...

The simple fact of the matter is that the car only gets attention because it is so overhyped in so many videogames that have come out over the years. I think Forza Motorsport was the first videogame I can think of where the GTR really sucked ass, just like it does in real life...

In your last 5 posts or so you have given you opinion on the GTR, we know how you feel why do you need to keep repeating yourself? Are you waiting for someone to jump up and say "The R34 will run circles around any M3 or SVT Cobra!"?? so you can argue with them or find supporters? Its fine you dont like GTR's, we all get the picture by now.

There is many cars that are talked about that I dont like or feel they are overhyped, I dont go posting bad things about them everytime I see them meantioned.

The GT-R is both massively overrated, and underrated.

Many kids think that it's the undefeatable god of cars and that its overwhelming speed is impossible to beat.

Many others take every opportunity they can to cut it down, and will refuse to even admit to one positive aspect. To them, it couldn't defeat a rock in a drag race, and there's no reason for it to exist other than to have legions of fanboys torment them.

Both viewpoints are wrong. It's just a quick little car with an advanced AWD system and a venerable 6-cylinder engine.

If you want me to say that it is the worst car ever made, I wouldnt. Its an interesting car that never made it to the US, but I am happy to see the V35 (or whatever they are going to call it) make it to the US...

I'll give credit where credit is due, and many Japanese automakers owe it to Nissan for making the Skyline and injecting the notion that cars can be fun to drive into the Japanese market... Before the origional Skyline, what "sporty" cars were there? The 2000GT? The S800?

Yss: i suggest you ask the only resident Japanese person around here. mabey they'll point us to proper histories of Performance vehicles in Japan

Google leads to plenty of info of the History on Japanese performance cars if anyone wanted to find out.
