Ive heard rumors flying around that Mika is for sure returning and ive heard he is done for good, im sure you guys are sick of hearing about this, (if anyone has), so if anyone really knows whats he gonna do?

There's all sorts of rumours going around at the moment. A brief summary of some of the stuff I'd heard is:
- Mika ain't comin' back. McLaren will be unchanged.
- Button to Jaguar, who are getting rid of both Irvine (Jordan or retiring) and de la Rosa (sacked)
- Alonso to either Jaguar or Renault
- Webber to either Jaguar, Renault, or even whispers about BAR or Jordan
- Villenueve may be leaving BAR for Renault
- Sato to leave Jordan, either out or at BAR as part of the Honda package

Not a bad silly season this year!

Villenueve should move to renault, he needs to be competitive again.

He also needs to stop being a rumoured 25% of the BAR budget!

Mika said to F1 racing "I think I'll let Kimi do the winning from now on". Sounds fairly clear to me!

TALONclaw is right, JV should go to Renault, BAR will be in turmoil for at least the next year, leading to a building year, then perhaps regular wins in 2005, and he's too old to wait that long.

Button shouldn't go to Jaguar!

Yeah, Villeneuve is the second best paid driver. BAR isn't exactly getting what they pay for now are they?

Ofcourse... rumor also has it Honda is stopping their Jordan support and are dedicating all their efforts to the BAR's engine and chassis.

True, but it will still take a while to turn the team around.

I heard that if Jordan loses the Honda engines, they will sack Sato and hire Verstappen

Really?

That would be quite a smooth move. Sato seems a bit rough, and Verstappen comes with a number of sponsors, so that might be a good idea. Plus I think Jos could maybe give Fisi a fright from time to time.

Kind of off topic here but I heard that the FIA fined Ferrari 1 million (pennies for them) and some sort of DQ next year.

It was half now and half later (if they're bad again). The fine was for the antics on the podium, not for team orders.

The BAR budget is rumoured to be around 200 million, it was over that in the first year. 10% is closer to the truth.

It's all economics, how else do you get a World Championship driver to come to a new team, pay him well.

Well I think at least some of this has to do with the ex-BAR boss being Villeneuve's manager. Surely this must have resulted in easier negotiations than with, say, Frank Williams.

There's definitely sabre-rattling going on at BAR, and I think it may be to do with chasing down new sponsors in preparation for BAT exiting before the 2006 agreement. David Richards has, after all, shown a clear ability to see three or more years down the line.

Mika did say that he would be back to :mclaren: after a year.......
