Other than my main account, I have a number of other accounts I have been running the Bonus Races on. The money there is always useful for buying cars I need.

With the "Borrow" function for cars you have Shared Online, you need only buy and set up cars for these races on one account. If you have co-operative Friends on your list you can take turns buying and setting up cars for these events.

I set up 5 cars that are shared online in my Profile that are for those five events in the latest Bonus Races.

To cater for all abilities, set them with higher power and better tyres. The borrower can swap to original tyres and if necessary use the Power Limiter (under Engine) to reduce the HP to a desired level. If the car is lightened you can add Ballast (under Body) to add weight. Settings can also be adjusted.

I borrowed the Nissan March from my Main. Any changes when borrowed will not be there in your Garage. A cheap way to make money if you are in need of as much as possible from these events.

I did this as well for a couple of my friends. They don't play this game as much as I do and now with the borrow function, I can easily setup a car for whatever race and they can use it whenever they want. This lending a car thing is so much easier than gifting. Now I don't have to worry about sending one car to a friend and making the other one wait another day.

Great idea, it used to be tedious gifting cars to spare accounts.

Apart from 'spoofing' the save file to get free cars, why else would you run a spare account?

I've got a second account I use to re run the races on A-spec Normally I try to use underpowered cars. I send the cars over from my primary account. My goal is to win the races with the least car possible. Now after 1.06 it's easier to tune a car to give me that last lap last turn pass because of ballast and power adjustments. The main account ran A-spec with the best car I had at the time resulting in some races where I had too much car. My goal with my second account is to have more fun running the A-spec part of the game than I had when I ran it the 1st time. Now with the adjustments we gained in the update that is easier to do.

With the old system, I would use my main account to buy and tune the cars, run the events, then "gift" them to a friend, who would use them and gift them to another, etc., until they went all the way 'round the "ring" we had set up for doing this. It didn't bother me, because I was bumping up against the 20mil cap, so buying them cleared out some space for more winnings - and the others would occasionally send interesting things my way for doing this.

So now there's no need to gift the cars away and "waste" precious trading opportunities, eh? Interesting. I like it!

I don't have access to my PS3 at the moment, and haven't looked into this - how does one go about "sharing" the cars? Just set them up for Online status, and then other accounts can use them as well?

Yep that's it. Set your cars to be shared with friends and the people on your list can borrow them. When you borrow a friends car, it's name appears in red on top of your screen, and you cannot go into the GT Auto or tuning screens with those cars. It's wise to setup the cars before making them available to your friends because they cannot upgrade the cars themselves, and in turn you cannot do the same to their cars. I've already received a few texts from my friends saying the Ferrari F1 rocks lol.

This is a great addition...I hate having to wait days and days to pass cars between the account I started the game in, and my GTP account (which has a much larger vault than my normal account).

Borrow FTW!

Thanks a bunch! That will help!

You still didn't answer his question. Other than spoofing for free cars, what do you need a 2nd account for? Even prior to 1.06, 2 accounts were not necessary for what you wanted to do.

Would of been even better when we had that seasonal event (corvette race) with the payout of 2 mill haha.

I can think of a good reason to have a second account: Aiming for a "perfect" game - going for a save that includes 100% win ratio A- and B-spec, all golds in all Special Events, etc.

Or completing the game with the bare minimum number of cars needed to do so. Or just starting from scratch to see how much money you can pile up in order to nab those really choice cars that only seem to come around early in the game.

what if they wreck the car????????

Accident damage doesn't really carry over, I don't think. Well, except you'll get to a point where you can do the chassis refreshening in the GTAuto section.

Hopefully your "friends" would repair any serious damage they inflict, just like in real life, eh? (Hey, I did say "hopefully"... ;) )

I borrowed a friends car and tried to go into GT Auto and you can't do anything to the cars except for tuning at the race start screen. Makes sense because I would hate it if my friends messed with my shared cars and did stuff I didn't want done to them. And they would do that too if they could! lol

So my point is damage does not transfer back to you once a friend is done with your car.

This is one of the best features of the 1.06 update in terms of pure convenience. I absolutely love being able to 'borrow' a car between PSN accounts.

My understanding is once you share a car, its state remains static i.e. no damage, mileage accumulation, engine/chassis wear.

That's right. The only thing that changes to my knowledge is if you borrow a car you still get credit for the mileage you drive, it just won't show up on the car at all for the original owner.

Another great reason for multiple accounts... Seeing as bonus races payout quite well, I use a second as a cash farm... this makes things far easier, as week over week, I let it bank until I see something that tickles my fancy. As I don't log in much, the garage doesn't turn over, and I get to keep checking for new cars every week.

I have been doing the same thing. I set the cars you need for the seasonals as my shared cars on my main account and then I race and race and race with my alt, whenever I get around a million or two I buy a car, and then gift it to my main :sly: And all the while I race on my main account as well getting lots of cash without having to spend it :sly:

My second account is purely so I could have a GTP tag to run in the WRS

I cant quite figure this out. The principal seems simple. I share a car on my account and it appears in the online section of my garage. I hop on my alt account and I cant find the car anywhere. Am I retarded? lol

this maybe a stupid question but...
have you added your main account in your second account Friends List??!
or maybe both accounts have to be online for this to work out

Yea they are added. I trade cars among them :P
But no shared cars showing up. WHere exactly should I be looking. In the garage i assume?

I know that both accounts don't need to be online both, I can take cars of my friend even when he's offline. 👍

Go to profile, select the main account and highlight the vehicle that you want. I did this today and it works

Not in the garage - in your Profile section. From your alt account, go to "Profile", then look at the profile for your MAIN account, and the online cars should show up there. Click on one, and it will open with a "Borrow" button instead of the "Change Car" button.

My friend is loving the borrowing because he doesn't have the f1 cars to do the ferrari challenges. Great feature PD added here.

I have 2 accounts simply to apply lessons learned on first go , to a fresh start -- you CAN'T erase a-spec and start over .
2cnd accnt also is great way to find cars I am missing for first and so on ..since I drive both A and B spec in both AND use online ..it seems just a good way to get my moneys worth ..as far as spoofing cars etc.. since I would hate to end up with corrupted save ,,why bother ?

How would spoofing corrupt your save data file any more than just a normal saving of your file would do?
