S Liscence

Just wondering how long it took you guys to get the S liscence. I'm currently on the 3rd test and working on 3+ hours :banghead: but, I'm not the best driver, so ... ;)

I have all of them done. Except The miata/trial mountain, and Griffith 500/ SSR12. GT-one/Monaco. All of them probably took me about 3 hours in all.

It took me about a day to do it, on a weekend...that was before I learnt to drive, and was still using automatic...

Now I could probably get all bronze in about 3-4hours.

The best way to prepare for taking the S license is play the game for awhile. When you do play don't use any traction control and don't buy or use a limited slip differential. This should help you get use to the cars and their settings in the S license tests.
:)

lol I'm somewhat naturally good at any game cuz I adapt fast. I got the S license the 2nd day of playin GT3. I got my licenses first, then did everything else.
some advice for the miata test, don't turn too hard or you'll start loosing speed and don't over brake. Also, let the inside tires hit the rumble strip cuz it causes them to get less traction then the outside tires, causing you to turn a lil faster. On the other tests, i say practice practice practice!!! you'll get it eventually. The tests really frustrated me at the beginning too =P

after you play gt3 so much the S-licence isnt too hard. It was the miata one i found the hardest, the car is soo underpowered. You gotta keep the speed up by driving the right line and braking only slightly. Others were pretty easy, the final exam was a breeze too, just watch the demos and learn the track.

Here's what I had for S-1 in my 229 days 100% diary:

Game Day 82:
I figured since I just did the Roadster Endurance, I should have Apricot Hill locked in my head. So I gave License Test S-1 a shot. The Speedster is not all that different from a Miata, slightly faster. Beating the first checkpoint was easy. The second one took a little longer, but the third I only managed to beat once. But I noticed in the demo that the exit speed from the chicane was too slow, only 66-7 mph. So I took advantage of that. My gold lap of 1'40:215 had a chicane exit speed of 69 mph. After that, all I needed to do is to not touch the ramble strip and I'm home free.

All-golds on the S-licence generally takes me a day.

The best tip - after play the game for a while, so you're used to the tracks - is to watch the demo ghost compared to yourself on replays. You'll generally spot you lose most time to it in a single sector - examine that sector closely and you'll see it's just one corner. Once you've ironed out your technique in that corner, go back and look again... At worst you'll only have about 3 or 4 bad corners. Fix those and you're home and hosed.

been awhile since i've been on this part of the forum. i've been taking a break from gt3. well anyway, it took me about an hour for all except the last test, which took about an hour by its self, and i never did go gold yet, i never tried. i am just trying to beat the rest of it first before i get all golds, but as i said, i am taking a break on it, i played it too much at once.

You must be doing something very wrong! I got a gold the second time I tried that test. My best time for it is 1:26:707 and to get the gold it's 1:31:000.

Don't go to fast in the tight turns. Reduce your speed a lot quicker than the demo and accelerate lightly but constantly through them. That should help you I think. :)
