I've just started this with the ds3. I'm hitting healthy 1:40s damn I'm good :/

This is one challenge that may have to be put off until I get a wheel. I understand what you're saying about different times for ds3/wheel. I can understand that people can do it with a ds3 but they must be in a minority. I only want a bronze tbh, when I do(if I do) get a wheel I'm going to enjoy going back to clean up a lot of the specials and licences. Until then I'm just frustrated......

I did it with DS3, in Monza i got silver just 0.500 behind gold
But Nurburgring and Suzuka i was fastest by 0.050 than bronze time requred - it was very very hard but i did it

Coule of days later i tried to improve but it was just waste of time... i can be happy that i did it...

I consider myself to be a pretty skilled driver (and gamer in general) and this challenge is dominating me right now. I know I need to put more time into the event. This is probably the most difficult challenge I've ever faced in a game.

I've been giving it a shot now and then for like an hour at a time for the last 2 weks and the closest i am to getting any bronzes' is .8 seconds off on monza... just switcheed to using
R2 as acc kept [] as brake but it helped considerably... i may just wait till i hit 40 A-spec or 35 b-spec(i heard you get it at 35 in b-spec somewhere) and just buy one... although it really is stupid that you can only have 20,000,000 credits as a cap... makes it hard/boring to save for one.

I just unlocked this the other day, I have golded all the licences and special events without too much trouble with the DS3, but this is much harder than anything else in the game. The main thing that makes it hard for me, is there seems to be a delay when your turning full lock and when you try to straighten the car, it keeps turning some times even though I have the steering straight. It kind of reminds me of playing wipeout more than anything to do with driving.

I've been working on this for about two weeks now (~15hrs overall), and I'm also finding it tuff :scared: Started on Monza and very quickly found that I couldn't spend anymore than about 40min playing before my concentration faded; this meant I had to come back the next day and so on. The GP/F bronze was achieved the other day and it was definiately harder than Monza due to the corners linking because of the insane speeds involved:crazy:. This is the biggest factor for me and it is even more extreme on Suzuka. The Esses at the start are hard enough but as you accelerate round the left sided curve the soft right at the bottom of the hill and then the harder right are very, very difficult. The track is really narrow and at the speed required for bronze this is, at the moment, beyond my skill LOL :ouch:.
I use L2 and R2 for braking and acceleration respectively and have been finding ABS=10 really helps ALOT esspecialyy where curbs are involved:) TC=1 is also a habbit that I have. I'm not even going to try and get gold, even though I have ALL the golds so far in the other events. For this reason I agree with the comments above, this is ridiculously hard for anyone using a DS3 and is, in my opinion, a mistake by PD.

I've only tried Monza. Compelted only once and haven't managed to do it before or since and even then I did a 1.24 which is 14 seconds off of Bronze. I just keep going off. I had a few where I get to the U bend leading to the finishing line on the second lap and going off there

As far as bronzing: I did monza in 30 min, N ring in about a hour, and suzuka in just over a hour with a DS3.

I'm not bothering for silver on any with a DS3. It is the 1 time I'll be happy to cheat on GT5 if/when PS3 coding gets broken...

Man, I dont understand how you guys do it.
I have all licenses gold, all special events gold, all races gold (except le mans & nurb 24h a-spec, simply dont have time)
I will never be able to complete the game, since I simply can not finish this challenge, even on bronze. I've put hours & hours in this ridiculous event and the result: not even a bronze on ANY track. I've watched videos, read all the tutorials and topics about this event, but no.... Is buying a wheel the only option to complete this game 100%?

A-spec level 36, B-spec level 40

This is BS that a DS3 user cant gold this challenge. i dont want to buy a wheel. this is a video game, if i wanted to drive with a wheel i would get in my car. This challenge shouldnt even be part of platinum. golding it should be platinum by itself

It's possible to bronze the Vettel challenge with a DS3. I know; I've done it.

It's theoretically possible to gold all three tracks with a DS3. (Silver, as well as gold, still elude me.) If you use the Search feature, up above to the right, you should find a few threads on the subject.

There are a few, select few member on here who have done it with the DS3 all gold. I for one am just fine with my Bronze on all of them with the DS3. That was nerve racking enough.:banghead::banghead:

I golded it all with a DS3!! Golding Suzuka was very very difficult though! Bronze is easy now!

With the "new bronze times" that are no longer "new" at this point, bronzing the challenge is a joke for veterans of previous GT games considering it's supposed to be the ultimate challenge.

Not sure that they want the average player to beat the challenge though.. After all, as some guy said "It's the Vettel CHALLENGE not the Vettel walk in the park."

Bronze is easy for me and people have golded it. I'll start working on silver, the only challenge with getting silver is that it's two laps per race. If it was one lap I'd have gotten silver already.
