If I'm not mistaken, they've upped the PP on the S10 test from 725 to 750. I'm having a heck of a time getting better than 12th place. Anyone know if there's an easy-mode car for this test?

I tried the Citroen GT but there's no way to lower its PP to 750 :-/

Try the Clio Tuned. It only get's 720PP but it's way fast. I beat S10 with it easy after the update. You can find my tune in the tunes forum.

Thanks very much! I just tried it real quick and got a 2'09 lap time. Looks like I need to practice :-) What kind of lap time can you turn in this car on this track? It is possible to win without a steering wheel?

Thanks again!

I beat it post update with the Tuned Corvette Z06. I was in 1st for the entire last lap.

I'm getting 1'59 if I make a clean lap with no mistakes and no traffic. 2'01 is my most common lap time. Are you using standard physics, all aids off?

I remember when I done S 10 only 700pp & you could'nt even as much as nudge the AI cars without a penalty,or hit a curb too much get a penalty. Was helping a friend recently with race,so I tried it again 750pp & theres hardley any penaltys,so yeah you can win with controller. I use a wheel now but when i done it first time controller. You prob need to run 2.03s to 2.04s

i played the 750 PP and i use mines GTR. I used R1 tires. My lap times were between 1 min 57 secs and 1 min 59 secs. Use GTR 07, or the Mines. All wheel drive cars are easier to drive and more stable although it is more heavier and handles worse than RWD car.

With the new physics, just about any car that can reach 750PP should be able to beat S10.

The best/easiest car also depends on your driving style (and ability!). I found the Amuse S2000 best (also tried Tuned Z06, Mines GT-R, GT-R '07) after the update. It's very "chuckable" and easy to steer on the throttle without being prone to spinning out, has great traction, and seems that little bit more accelerative than the others I tried.

I'd never achieved better than 3rd with the other cars, but can now get 2nd every time and 1st most of the time with the Amuse. And that's using the DS3.

Righto 'Dubs 👍, I have went back and redone the few straggling silvers , and a couple of bronze's , converted them into golds and silvers , but yes the penalties have lightened up drastically making it more manageable.

BTW Y8 would u mind sharing ur tuning setup for the S2000 with me?

Using DFGT I have gotten first with all the cars you mentioned, as well as the GT LM and the Clio T. Any of these cars, and a couple of others, will beat S10 if properly set up and driven.

yea.
i used the ford gt..
think i went for the lightest weight and all the power i could get within the PP allowed. oh and i adjusted the gear change values (so that i can accelerate as fast as possible since there are a couple of sharp turns)

should be doing around 2.10-2.12 for first lap and 2.01-2.03 for the rest. should be fine to get you a podium spot.

With Spec III those times would get you gold by a mile. Seriously. I have raced S10 many times in the last few days and never failed to get gold except when I tried the 111R T. For some reason I just can't get the speed out of that car. It was my favorite car in Spec I.

I have a few bronze and silvers medals that need upgrading. Looks like I'll be back in the events section for a few nights. I have tried the Evo Nordwand run again since the update and still can only manage a silver. Maybe there's a Youtube video out there I can reference to see where I'm leaving some time......probably in the switchback portion.

That reminded me that I had silver in that race too. I went back and got gold pretty easy. It's all in making time in the hairpins. Also tried the M3 Eiger TT again. Still silver. That one is a b***h.

Also tried the Ferrari California in the S10. Even though it only makes around 713PP it still turns 2:01 and gets gold easy.

This could be improved, but it's what I used and it worked for me! Only using 6 gears in effect.

well, I've tried '07 GT-R, Evo X tuned, Viper SRT10 tuned etc etc.. no luck. I get 13th and after that I can't shorten the gap at all.

To get better at S10 I used to practice A7. Take your S10 tune and run A7 a few times. It will help you learn the best line and also help you learn to work traffic. Arcade mode will also work but that doesn't pay anything.

Earned the gold in the Evo-Nordwand run last night without much trouble at all. I noticed the times have been adjusted. Pre-update, gold was in the 1'13.00 range. Now, gold is around 1'1500 or something. That's a big difference, especially considering the physics change. Next on the list is converting a silver to gold with the GTR at HSR. I was about .325 seconds off gold last night and just gave in to weariness. Maybe tonight.

Anyone who hasn't earned all golds previously should take advantage of this opportunity. PD might realize they've made the events too easy and change them again in the next update, lol.

I'm pretty sure I only earned a silver in S10 in the spec II version. That one is also on my list of events to conquer.

I now have only 2 silvers left. The M3 Eiger TT and the Cappuccino HSR TT. Since the update I've picked up gold in the Evo Eiger TT, the GT-R HSR TT, the GT06 HSR TT, and S6.

I do plan to keep trying for gold in the M3 TT, but I'm not wasting my time chugging around the HSR at 80mph in the Cappuccino hoping to get a draft down the straight.

This is where I'm at as well but cannot place better than 9th with the Z06. The California was worse, AI cars will not let me pass & placed 12th & have most of the other tuned cars of purchased, I just can't seem to find the right set up for S-10.

is there a single car that would have both traction and oomph to keep up? Evo X tuned has traction and turns nicely, but is left behind on straights. same for Elise. Viper and vette tuned haul ass on straights, but in the corners they turn into drifters and spin, same thing with ferrari california. I'm seriously pissed off at this god damn mission.. it's just as annoying as missions in GT4.. :irked: :banghead:

I was in 4th right behind the vette in s10 and at the last turn I was too agressive and hit the side, ended in 8th. s10 is REALLY pissing me off also. I tried a variety of cars. The closest I got was with the ford gt test car, but one false move and I would spin out, I tried everything and I have no idea what to do.

I'll tell you what made the difference for me. I kept getting 6th or 5th. For a week I kept trying.

But then I remembered something I learned at the Bondurant school a few years back. Keep your eyes up and focus down the track. I find that when I look as far down the track as I can that it's alot easier to run a good line. The mistake I tend to make is to focus on the curb of the corner I'm in. And I usually run wide. Then I run wide the next corner...

But when I focus down the track I can put my inside tires on the rumble strip much easier. I can hold both wheel and throttle steady and I can pick up the throttle earlier coming out of the corner.

All of a sudden I was running 2-3 seconds faster, catching and passing AI cars like I never had before.

Nicely done 👍

I still lack gold in the Nissan GT at High Speed Ring (B-7?) - best so far is silver missing gold by .328 seconds :grumpy:. I've still got 2 silvers in the A class and an assortment of medals in the S class to convert......
