Safety cars - whats the point?

It would be nice if you could just buy the lights that go on the top as a part for any car. Then you could build your own safety car/cop car out of whatever you wanted.

But that would be both good for the players and lower the car count.

I don't get being mad about cars that are already in the game. I'd rather have a bunch of cars that I'll never never use than just not have them in the game at all.

Conversely, others way want nothing more than to drive the safety cars. GT has always been about automotive diversity. If you don't want the cars, then don't buy them.

I agree with Imari in that it would be cool if we could make any car a safety car by adding lights to it.

My personal wish is we could get the M4/Megane lightbar in various colours with the front and rear strobes from the GT-R.

Along with a button that activates/deactivates the lights when driving. Its annoying to have them constantly on when you don't want/need them to be.

The HiMedic has the siren programmed to the horn button, so why not have the emergency lights programmed under the 'Flash headlights' button?

Hold the button to flash the highbeams but tap once to activate the lightbar and strobes and then tap again to turn them of.

This would also present an opportunity to create some retro-style safety cars! Like the kind which F1 had before the Mercedes became the norm, as well as other racing series.
