Saints Row 3 The Third

The autosave/cheats system in this game is ridiculous. Once you've used a cheat you can NEVER turn auto save back on and your achievements will NEVER work again.

What the hell?!

Yes you can. I used the cheat MASCOT and have since finished the game and autosave worked fine after I used the cheat.

I thought mine had too but the game automatically reverted back to my non cheat autosave that was made before I activated them. When going to load this save the left of the screen shows an image from the last mission I did. No text, just an image.

I made a seperate save after I had been using cheats but when loading that save it now says 'Cheats Activated' on the left, even though I've turned them off. Autosave will not come back on for that save.

Luckily I only lost half an hour of gameplay! Are you on PS3 or 360?

This game is 🤬

1. Less clothing options and customisation than SR2.
2. Messed up paint system for vehicles
3. Not much attention paid to female clothing and options
4. DLC strategy is shameful (I didn't buy any of it)
5. Less weapons, and stupid weapons were introduced
6. Storyline was poor (Gat killed in 1st mission, Loren killed in 1st act)
7. Characters were poor (Shaundi especially
8. No mission replay
9. AI was terrible in multiple areas
10. Vehicle controls and handling weren't good across the board along with vehicles having an infinite number of gears

etc etc, this game disappointed me, a month is all I got out of it. I definitely won't be buying SR4. :grumpy:

1. Not true at all. There are a lot of clothing options but you have to drive to all the different stores to see everything.
2. How is it messed up? YOu can paint it any color you want along with candy, pearl, flat, and much more. It can be ANY color you want.
3. Tons of options out there. See #2
4. I agree with this. I waited until the dlc went on sale yesterday.
5. There are a lot of weapons. More unlock the more you play. Again, see different stores
6. I was bummed about Gat also. Cant believe they killed of the best character in the first mission.
7. Yes I miss the real Shaundi from SR2. Didnt care for the fake Shaundi in SR3.
8. You can replay the missions somehow. Especially the DLC. I just dont know how.
9. AI is about the same as SR2 with a little improvement. Most AI in sandbox games arent very intelligent.
10. Vehicles handle a lot better than SR2

While there were some disappointing features about SR3 I still find it very very good in many ways. The over the top action was amazing in this game and the co-op is even better than it was in SR2. Been playing it on and off since it came out. In fact the SR3 DLC just went on sale this weekend and I bought all of it. (240ms points each 50% off). Today is the last day of the sale. Played through most of the dlc this weekend and had a great time. There are some things I miss from SR2 but overall this is a very very good sequal to SR3.

The naivety is strong in this post

1. You don't even need the stats to know that there are less clothes, there are less stores than in SR2 as well (no jewellers either), your reason is invalid.

2. No you can't you have to choose from a colour grid, which doesn't even allow for metallic anymore.

3. A number of girls on the SR forums have been complaining about the lack of hair options and also point 1 restricts this from the outet, you'd have to be naive to think otherwise.

4. N/A

5. All stores sell the same things; there are only 5 melee, 3 rifles, 3 shotguns, 3 SMGs and 2 pistols compared to 5 rifles, 6 shotguns, 4 SMGs, 5 pistols and at least 12 melee in SR2.

6. N/A

7. N/A

8. Mission replay is only available as a PC mod, because of the city's changing elements.

9. Drive around for a little while and see how many people randomly turn around, walk in your path or do something stupid, it's worse than SR2.

10. There's no handbrake, the cars go into into reverse before they stop, vehicle that handled well in SR2 handle horribly in SRTT, like the Bear. As stated earlier all cars have an infinite number of gears according to the sounds.

If you believe that there have been improvements in these areas from SR2 to SRTT then you would have to be naive. That said this isn't even worth discussing, it's quite obvious.

Someone just sounds angry. What system are you on? I am on the 360. Anyway angry person is just angry person. Ok you dont like the game I get it. Really nothing else to discuss. Have a nice day.

I'm not going to go on all points made here but I know number 10 in false. I am looking at the manual here and (on PS3) the X button is marked as drift which I assume is a handbrake. I remember using it in game and corners could be taken without slowing down using X if I remember correctly.

Exactly. I have hundreds of hours into SR2 and almost a hundred in SR3. The car handling is miles ahead of SR2 by a longshot. Obviously some handle better than others and all sandbox games are alike that. A golf cart or 6 wheel army vehicle is not going to handle like a sports car. Several of his points are just plain false as I pointed out. I am pretty sure he is just trolling the thread. Especially saying the stores carry the same items. Thats 100% false. If you go to "Lets Pretend" then go to "Nobody Loves me" they obviously dont carry anywhere near the same clothes at all. To see all the clothes, you have to visit every different store. Even SR2 was the same way. You had to visit different stores to see all the clothes. Being angry about a game is one thing. But if someone is going to say I am naive while posting false information, that just makes them look ignorant.
The autosave/cheats system in this game is ridiculous. Once you've used a cheat you can NEVER turn auto save back on and your achievements will NEVER work again.

What the hell?!
False. You just have to make sure you dont load the save that had the cheats on. When you load the game dont click "continue". Manually select the game mode that does not have the cheats on. In fact I am pretty sure it gives you a huge warning when you load the game saying cheats are activated.

There are only 4 different stores compared to the nine of SR2, fanboyism has blinded you. It's a fact there are less clothes.

1. Planet Saints
2. Let's Pretend
3. Leather & Lace
4. Nobody Loves Me

compared to in SR2;

1. Sloppy Seconds
2. On The Rag
3. Impressions
4. Branded
5. Buy Jove
6. Spelunkers
7. Stillwater U. Gift Shoppe
8. Leather & Lace
9. Nobody Loves Me

Then add the fact that you cannot layer clothing in SRTT, which you could do in SR2 and that SR2 had jewellery stores; Bling Bling & On Thin Ice. This is a blatant fact, your argument is now clearly dead.

5 Planet Saints = 5 shops with exactly the same content. So your "100% false" statement is false.

You missed the point on vehicles, I said compared to SR2, not other SRTT vehicles.

Naivety is the only way you cannot notice cold, hard facts.

Look at the Saints Row Forums and see how many people have ditched the series because of seeing what I've seen for themselves.

Also why is it whenever someone presents facts and dispells the defense of something it is dismissed as trolling or ignorance?, I'm sorry but those comments are un-necessary.

Just started playing this again yesterday and i have to say im thouroughly enjoying it. When i first got it i was a tad dissapointed but for some reason i felt the urge to give it a second chance and im glad i did. Mayhem activities are so much fun aswell as the heli assault and such like, The only thing im still not fussed on is the car physics but i can forgive the game that for all the fun and giggles it provides.

Edit - Just finished the main story, Sad its finished to be honest. Taking out a Whole Paramilitary force single handed in a VTOL jet, With Bonnie Tylers "Holding out for a hero", And Kanye Wests "Power" playing in the backround will go into my alltime most favourite gaming moments. Thank you SR3, You rocked.
