version 1.1 but the cones are still there. ;)
Layout: Nürburgring Nordschleife Sprint No Arena.

View attachment 1467379
Inside nordschleife_sprint_no_arena layout (and also nordschleife_sprint_arena which has the same issue) create an extension folder, create an ext_config.ini and insert the following lines
;;; hide cones
[MESH_ADJUSTMENT_...]
IS_ACTIVE = 1
MESHES = AC_POBJECT.018, AC_POBJECT.019, AC_POBJECT.020, AC_POBJECT.017
IS_RENDERABLE = 0

or extract the files from the ZIP file to content/tracks.
Inside there are also some AI lines fixed (some layouts have messed up sidelines and other wrong AI lines)

Hello. I need help with rain.

When I choose any rainy weather, everything changes correctly (including the sound of rain), except the rain itself. No rain falling in any view, no drops anywhere, no wind-shield wipers turning on.

I know that rain worked correctly at some point, several months ago. I don't know what changed since then.

Here is what it looks like. This is the standard Kunos Alfa Romeo 33 Stradale, on the standard Kunos Magione track.
CSP and Pure LCS are correctly installed and up to date.
I deleted CSP's settings, and nothing changed.

Does anyone know this problem, and is there a solution other than to wipe everything and start afresh ? Thanks in advance.

You always need a CSP preview version! It is linked under the "Rain Disclaimer" in the Pure development update posts!

If you have a preview version of CSP, better install it manually:
Delete the dwrite.dll in AC root folder.
Open the CSP preview zip file and EXTRACT the "dwrite.dll" and the "extension" folder to your AC root folder (Steam install folder of AC "common\assettocorsa").

You currently have a CSP public version installed which has no rainFX. The rain sound comes from Pure...

Boy, do I feel silly. I guess I used a CSP preview version in the past, and then I 'updated' to a regular one, not knowing (or I forgot) that rain was dependant on those particular CSP versions.

Thank you very much for the help, and sorry for the stupid question.

@Peter Boese
Hi Peter, a question: is it possible to independently adjust the cloud contrast?
I'd like to see the sky more clearly with the "overcast clouds" weather setting, but if I increase the contrast in Pure Config, I end up with "Broken Clouds" and "Windy" weather with black clouds. Is that possible?

Another question: the "mountains shader" is a very useful addition, but it only works with LCS.
I prefer GAMMA, which I find "softer" ,can it be used by importing the lines of code?

Thanks a lot.

Awesome stuff!
Do you have a 2013/14 Singapore track of the same quality?

Overcast is actually meant to be very soft and white. All those weather types in Pure are made to have a difference between them.
You can still just use other weather types and set the weather data parameters to what you like. Thats the real meaning behind those things in Pure Planner.

So the weather type are like weather look types and they must not represent a certain weather behaviour.

An the mountain shader is only needed in LCS, because the sky fog is much lower there. In Pure Gamma the skyfog is very present with low fog values.

Do you guys know how to change the name of the track without interfering the variant name? I don´t want to have the Nürburgring named like this as it is shown here, but re-naming it to just "Nürburgring" also re-names the chosen variant.

Bleh.

Still waiting for the Ligier LMP3 from them. Probably will be waiting forever.

Going to be a while before I pick this up. I actually have been having some fun with their '22 car, as it's a good AI tester for F1 tracks - but the other two I have from the next two years feel identical.

IMO the yearly iterations, like the F1 games themselves, should really be small free updates, with each regulation change ('26 the next in this case) getting a new car for a few more quid total - so like 7 pounds.

Just my opinion.

Lol. Good f'ing luck with getting the CM naming formatting to work properly without it destroying each name.

I'm a UI obsessive and it's a nightmare. If you're not like me, I'd just leave it as is.

This is a great example of something that should have been fixed in CM many years ago and has been left completely untouched.

(in this case, I renamed the Nurburgring GP "Nurburgring" - and renamed each variant properly from there. No idea how to make a different variant the first one shown, or the "Title" variant - nor do I know how they're organized. It's black magic - extremely stupid black magic)

... Since Aviano Circuit is back in fashion, I made some small adjustments to the vegetation tone and asphalt color, and slightly modified the grass...
The new tones of the asphalt and the landscape are truly spectacular, they add authenticity... although in my case there are a couple of minor issues: some flags look out of place with this extension, and for my taste, there are too many wildflowers, too many... I like it when there are a few scattered around, but here they look like a cultivated flower field. Also, they invade the edge of the asphalt at several points on the track and are rendered in an unnatural way...

I've tried to delete some of the code to keep what I like (the tones of the vegetation and asphalt), but my limited knowledge doesn't allow me to do it correctly...

Anyway, thanks for sharing your work.

It's a shame that RSS have such a hard-on for these modern formula cars when there are so many older analogue touring cars to pull from, cars that are always far more involving and rewarding to drive than these soulless digital rocketships.
Not a fan of post-2014 F1 but this is a bit disingenuous, no ? These cars don't drive themselves and are still pretty rewarding at the limit - and in their own right. But eh, we do we know anyways ? It's not like we've driven one lol

I think (and remember) there was some workaround how to do it, at least I think it must come from some file .json created by the track author maybe?

This whole issue of naming layouts correctly drives me crazy too...

In this case, the clumsy "workaround" I used is to set "Layout Priority" to 14 on the "Nürburgring 2025" layout. That way, even if the rest of layouts can't be renamed correctly, at least the mod appears in the list with the name Nürburgring 2025...

Yeah it's the same for me. Around 2010-2012'ish I lost my passion with F1. Not that I don't follow new F1... no I still watch every race and love Max who's a real old school driver. It's just that it has become sterile and the drivers have no real charisma (besides a few). Most of them look like boy band members.

It was different in the old days.

Why not create amazing 80's cars from the turbo era? 1982, 1983 and 1984 we only have SimDream. And we still don't have 1985 cars which was a great year in F1. Seven past or future World Champions on the grid: Lauda, Keke, Prost, Senna, Piquet, Jones, Mansell.

I know the answer though... they're not that interesting for the masses. 90% of the AC audience wants all new stuff. I have the 2022 season on my hard drive and I gotta say these new cars and tracks are very well made.. nothing to take away from them. That's probably what sells. It's only loons like me and a few others who love the classic F1 and classic racing in general. :)

Yes, i see just new GT3, LM and F1 Cars, no real charisma just the tecnology, i hate this situation.

Call me a sensitive nancy but using Lauda's accident to say the old F1 was better is such a weird take dontcha think ? I'd rather watch modern sterile F1 where the drivers won't suffer horrific and life altering injuries (or worse) than the other way around, not knowing if your fav driver will make it out alive. Even Ickx said as much and he seen death very close (Jarama 1970, Bellof and his boneheaded move...). I agree that modern F1 is boring but at least they don't ****ing die lol. It's like saying current MotoGP riders are pussies compared to Ago (lol)

Sweet sport was the mid-noughties, screaming V10 and V8s, mad aero, nimble cars.

I wasn't using that accident of making comparison with the new F1 and old F1. I was comparing the charisma of the old drivers vs the new drivers. He was a major badass to COME BACK after the terrible accident and win the title once again. And he was extremely charismatic guy and that look just increased it. Just like many other old school drivers who drove those crazy machines. Now it's all politically correct stuff and constant penalties for racing incidents that used to be normal in the old days.

Even Montoya and Raikkonen said that the element of danger used to part of F1, which they both admitted why they got interested in racing in the first place. Nobody wants to see anyone getting hurt but like it or not, the danger was part of F1's appeal.

This is a perfect video of the old school F1. I wasn't even born yet but there's something really magical in that footage. You can almost smell the oil and gasoline from those old races.
