That, maybe since its a supercar the manufacturer decided you wouldn't be using 1st Gear a lot so the ratio was shortened. Kind of like a racing car.

it shifts fast from 2nd to 3rd gear, not from 1st to 2nd. The same happens in GT4 too. I will never understand why the 2nd gear is so short

I haven't had any experience with the Saleen, but are you getting any traction? cause sometimes your tires might be just spinning making your rev to just keep bouncing to w/e the shift point is to fast

I think the Saleen's tranny is a bit odd as well.

What I did was buy the fully customisable transmission, find the actual gear ratios of the car, and copy them into the fully customisable transmission menu. Problem solved

It's not the length of the gear or traction. It's like the rpm start to fall back then it catches. All other gears the rpm fall back then shifts. Just get in it and try it. It's really different . Like different clutches in that gear

According to www.supercarsite.net, the 1st 2 gears are really close

comparing to a Ferrari 599 which has 1st@3.15:1 and 2nd@2.18:1
