Just watch. No comments needed, apart from - again - the obvious. How can a driver be precise driving in such a position !?!?!?!?!

Just about to post this. It certainly is tight! I was aware the driver sat with their feet high up, but that looks tortuous. Great video.

Nice to see the car like that - not surprised at the seating position as its been this way for a very long time now. I find the details of the packaging of the electronics, engine, fuel tank, gearbox, etc more interesting. You don't get to see that stuff very often. 👍

Now we know why their development's so slow, they've been spending the past 2 years cutting up a car instead of putting parts on their new car.

Just kidding, great video, that driving position looks torturous.

It makes F1 drivers seem even more impressive. They can drive incredibly fast lap after lap in that seating position, whilst fiddling around with dozens of buttons, fighting against other drivers without hitting them and by the time they reach the end of the race they have lost about 5 lbs in weight.

They actually didn't cut one in half. It was all that was left of Perez's Monaco car from last year.

Oh man, that seating position. It's really close to the ground.
I wonder how Petrov or Kobayashi felt after those harsh high-fly landing.

I don't understand why you say it looks uncomfortable. What do you yourselves do after a long hard day? You put your feet up. F1 drivers are in that position all day.

You've got a point, it's doesn't look that uncomfortable. It's a pretty tight space, but the actual seating position looks pretty comfy to me :) Before I got an actual chair/table for my wheel, I had to sit on the floor with my backrest being my guitar amp, not comfortable. I struggled to drive for more then an hour without having to stretch, and 2hours really felt painfull - it did add to the inmersion though, being so uncomfortable made it seem more realistic

Apart from minus cushion, bumpy road surface and kerbs.
I don't think it's pretty comfortable in that. :scared:

Yeah this feature was such an awesome effort from the Sauber team. I always get super excited whenever I get more insight into the cars, even if this one is from 2008, it's the Kubica winning one with the funny nose at least. I don't know why it was the most fascinating thing for me, but the way the fuel compartments work is just awesome, might be standard racing fare with the tanks to keep safe, not sure, but still quite an awesome design.

Another surprise for me was where they manage to store the ECU and electronic components, always wondered that.

Just amazing, we're the luckiest F1 fan generation of all time and I encourage you all to take a deep breath, sit back, and consider that for a while.

Glad everyone enjoys the video so much! We would have loved to go into more detail, but (as mentioned in some comments) we were lucky to get the ok for the project from our technical team and (as also mentioned by some of you) we are delighted to have received approval for what we already show of the 'rear' of the car. Which is also the reason for the chosen perspective. Correct, it is a BMW Sauber F1.08.

Feet up is good for resting, not sure if for split-second driving.

Anyway ... :D ... your sig says you're a wheel stand pro user. This is a wheel stand pro:

It's not me you need to convince about that. It's my wife. :dopey:
