Could someone tell me why the color behind the tail lights are different on this car? The right side is a green color and the left side is the color of the car.
thanks:idea:

Always wanted to know the answer to this one... I always wondered if it was to help the driver behind, since it was usually in the lead. :sly:

If the left side were red you could then say that they're conforming to FAA rules as to lighting...Red being Port(left) and Green being Starboard(right)...This would hardly make sense to use on a race track though...
Perhaps if the car was one of a team of 2-3 cars in one race then the cars in back would know who they were approaching or being passed by?

More than one C9 entered Le Mans in 1989 so I thought that spot was to tell the difference between the two teams. But then again, that's why both C9's had different colored door mirrors.. I don't know. :dopey:

IRL, they had different colour mirrors so that you, the spectator, could easily tell the difference without being able to read the number. From the back, you can't see the colour on the mirror so they put it on the rear light surround.

In 1988, one of them had yellow flashes and the other had red.

The 61 had red mirrors, the 62 had silver and the 63 had yellow mirrors.

On a side note, the 53 (not run at Le Mans but was ran), had green mirrors.

ok that makes sense. thanks for the answer and I would still like to know how you all know all this stuff!!!:sly:

When Teams enter same colour and type cars in any race, they change colours on sertain parts so that the pitcrew can identify the car and driver when it races towards them down the pit strait. I was part of the pitcrew for BMW when they raced production cars. At 200 kms + heading down the strait you have no idea who's coming, so we changed the mirror colours.

Most if not all Motorsports feature livery differences between cars. Take a look at the Ferrari F1's in GT5 and you'll see Massa's car has different colour stripes on it's TV camera to Raikkonen's or Alonso's cars.

#61 Red mirrors, red paint on butt.

#62 Yellow mirrors, yellow butt.

Thats all there is to it I think.
ps, the red one is a miniature ;)

Yeah, it helps the crews to recognize who is heading over more easily when seen a car running at a high speed. From a standpoint of view of them, in the Formula 1, other distinctive-colors are adopted on a few parts of the car so that they can judge exactly who has come into the pit to get ready for a pit stop, whether their drivers had come or not. being told the little differences between colors to the spectators beforehand they can have more fun observing an entire race.

it sadly sounds nothing like a real c9 :( :( :( :(

i dont know how they got the sound so wrong.
even for the gt-one aswell(also a note for gt5 to fix tranny sounds it obviously not that loud in 90% of racecars)

It's a shame that you don't realise that the youtube video is most likely the inaccurate sound. It says 360p, which most likely doesn't represent the sound quality of the actual uploaded sound on the video. Also positioning of where that mic is placed in the video is important, and what view you are using in GT5, what sound system you are using (if you have one).

It seems that this misconception has lead to a bit of a meme that GT5 has "bad sound".

Thing is...
Even if the youtube sound is less accurate, I bet 90% of people would prefer this youtube sound over the sound we have in GT5.

GT5 sound is a bit like the non-premium cars.
All good, I like to drive them, but it's missing something.
GT5 sound is 'flat' and generic, it's like the sound only has 4 tracks and not 64. It's not superbad, but it;s not up to standard with the rest of the game.

This is a 1080P youtube movie, compare it to the GT5 sound.
GT5 is missing depth. I would like to have better sound in GT6 if it ever comes out.

I have SEEN the C9 in real life.
I have heard it rev nearly to redline in real life.
it sounds exactly like that -.- a deep engine note not the garbage squeal you hear in this game. So dont try to tell me the sound is inaccurate...

To support my case
Real Life

GT5

PD how do you even get the sound from it? Are you stupid or something?

And PD please make some cockpit views. even if they look like that mod i dont care it WILL be better
