My PS3 froze while loading the game up and now my 97% progress has been replaced by a 0%. Anyway I can get it back? I don't have a USB save :(

If your GT5 file's info in the "saved games" folder reads 0% and you don't have a backup, I'm sorry to say it's all gone. My condolences, that happened to me too.

My PS3 followed soonly after. Just saying.

I have a back up 94% on my old PS3. How can I get that into this one without wiping out everything on the current playstation?

Same psn account if that's what you mean

Yes that's it. If you have a USB pen you can copy only your saved game to your current PS3. It will overwrite your 0% game.

However, I'm not sure how to proceed if you have bought any DLC.

I haven't bought any dlc. So I just hook up the two ps3s by a USB cable?

No... That doesn't work. The only way to connect 2 PS3 is through an Ethernet cable, but that erases everything on the PS3 you copy from and passes it to the other one, which also gets its contents erased prior to that.

I meant a USB pen drive or external HDD.

So what if I activated online saves with playstation plus? Could I go back to my old ps3, copy that data to playstation plus, then with my current ps3, save that data?

Can't help you with that, I don't have PS Plus, nor do I know how that works exactly.

If I had to guess, I would say that doesn't work because it only lets you recover to the same PS3 you saved from in the first place, but I can be mistaken. It could just as well be linked to your account instead of a specific PS3. If you do not have any other option, I recommend going to the Playstation web page and reading the support info about how that works.
