Hello guys, a great lack in the gt series is the possibily to save during the races, in particular Endurance races.don't thoughts that is arrrived the moment to have this option?

Personally, I use my PS3 for more than just playing games. Pausing a 24hr endurance race and rendering my system useless because there's no option to quick-save and resume at ones' own convenience is ridiculous. Downloads, Blu-Ray movies, Life with Playstation. My system is always on and doing something useful for me or others. 5-10 years ago pausing the action might've been a good solution but to me, it's no longer acceptable.

I hope PD implements mid-race saving for endurance races. Even if just at milestones, i.e - 20minutes/40minutes/etc.

just pause it

That's not always going to be the best option, for instance - some people share their PS3 with their family, and others might only have the time to play their Playstation once every few weeks. I think an in-race save feature would be fantastic, it didn't always feel right knowing that B-Spec drove more miles than me.

Anyway, I'm pretty sure we've had a couple of threads on this topic before. ;)

Right you are. It's high-time PD put in a save-option during pit-stops or so. I hope we'll see this fixed in GT5, but I'm not getting my hopes up though... :indiff:

A save option during long endurance races would be a very good idea. Nice thinking 👍

Yeah, on GT4 I just used to drive the first 3 hours or maybe a little more depending on time. Then just pit and put it on B-spec. But a save option would be fantastic!👍

I overtake you wonder about this idea, This possibility was in f1gp on amiga in 90.
it's ridiculous that in the previous gt there was

I fully support the idea of pit stop saves. You are able to exit and continue at a point where you, the driver, have no responsibility for control and so you won't even miss a fraction of a second's worth of activity.

24 Hours of Le Mans had this and it was convenient.

I didn't mind in the past because I could just pause, but my PS3 acts as a part-time Internet browser, Blu-Ray and DVD player, music player, photo viewer, and other things that just pausing the game would not allow us to do.

Very. I did several 24 hour races in that game (and also several 10 hour races at Petit Le Mans - Road Atlanta), something that only mid race saves allowed me to do without having my console turned on for a full week and my kids unable to play/view movies with it for that same period.

I agree 100% with pit stop saves but only in Endurance Race!

Remember people the Endurance Race always have more than 1 driver, and I think it will be very nice to create some online teams (3 members) for the 24h races, when you can share the same car with other members, and race just part of the race! Dividing equally one the end the prize for the team members!

^^This^^ Well said mate!

That is reason why I did not finish some endurance race in GT4... I work and also have some other stuff to do with my friends so I hope for save game option in mid race... Also I and my sister use PS3 for listening music ,watch movie's...

I just now finished the 4 hour Mazda Miata,Tsukuba Course Endurance race.I did 210 laps in 4 hours and talk about being worn out.

I read way before GT5 came out that there would be save points within the Endurance Races.Well so far i have 2 of them done and have yet to come across them. Was this something that was considered then dropped for the full game?

The reason i ask this is because i plan on doing all of the Endurance races eventually and there is no way i'll be able to do those 12 hour and 24 hour races(the 6 hour one i can probably do) unless you have a save point.I just don't see it being done without having save points.

Maybe i read wrong when it was said we would have save points.Do you guys know anything about this?

The only thing I've heard about is just pausing the game, so you're kinda stuck with leaving the ps3 on until you finish the race.

I don't think there are any save points . I'm gutted there's no way il b pausing the game and leaving the console on for 40 hours plus.
Gt4 had the right idea about it by been able to speed it up by as much as x3 so u could start endurance then stick it on x3 and sleep .. Think that's gone though.

Well that's no good.

I don't feel safe leaving the PS3 on for that long, that is when i get to those 12 hour and 24 hour races.

also I've heard on these forums that the pause option is a bad idea on ps3 . Mines already on the blink due to excessive play.
Looks like il never get to 100%.

Maybe we will get a update or patch about this.

It would be good to see that back again. 👍

I'm thinking the same thing.Looks like i won't be 100% the game either. :grumpy:

I sat through 12 and 24 hour races on GT4, you just have to get a lot of rest before hand and use a lot sugary drinks. Bob could help you get an hour or so sleep on '4 but that option is now gone.
Having a save point would go against the whole point of a simulator. No real Le Mans driver ever had a save point during a stint for him to run to the shop for a box of smokes and a few beers.
I agree it is difficult but if you are serious about GT then it's a necessary evil/experience.

I agree.. But no 24 H racer drives for 24 hours straight.. It would be great if bob could help you get some sleep.. That woul've been realistic imo

Sorry for poor english, hope you guys get my point

I know what you mean, it's why we all need friends/wives to co-drive (3-4 hour stints) when we start to fall asleep!

Did Kaz mention that PD will implement save option? I feel dizzy when I think of the endurance race for 24 hours even I can pause it.
