I've been messing around with these three bone stock and I like the 908 more than the 787b (by a little). Both of them are a notch above the R10. "Truth in 24" was mentioned earlier in this thread, a pretty good movie because it was right when the 908 took the Le Mans scene by storm. The R10 won the race that year but it was because of reliability, not sheer speed. Similar to what happened last year when all of the Peugeots had mechanical problems and the R15+ did not. To paraphrase one of the Audi drivers from the movie, the 908 has a "sheet-load more grip in the corners, especially in the front." The comments about cockpit view are certainly true. The 908's poor visibility in it is really when I switched from cockpit view to bumper cam, and the second set of hands just threw me off but that's true of any car in cockpit view.

One last thing, the 6-speed transmission in the 908 means my shifting points are similar to a lot of the other cars in this game and the 5-speed in both the R10 and 787B took me some time to get used to.

p.s. The R8 '01 and the Bentley Speed 8 are much better than the R10 in bone stock form - I don't really know what the heck I'm doing when I try to "tune" cars.

I was in the same situation as you and I went with the Mazda 787B since it's very unique and has less complaints than the Audi R10 regarding handling. The Peugeot would be my second choice and I'm making the Audi R10 wait. The R8 Race Car '01 is nice but hard to find and I prefer my 787B just because it's premium.

For the strangest reasons, I've managed to lap my Oreca 908 around Nurburgring 3 seconds faster than 787B.

It's definitely a steal for it's "modest" 4,000,000:D

A Mazda is sort of the spirit our of the three. Audi being wine (enjoyed in small quantities but caution must be taken when over eager) and peugoet 908 being beer (easy to use but push and addicting to drive however be responsible). Back to the mazda its coarse and basic and yet fun but get on the wrong side it'll bite your head off. As for which one you should buy well it's your choice, spirit wine or beer?

P.s. I also tried the Audi r8 oreca from OCD and it was good but I didn't like the paint scheme so I'm waiting for the original to show up.
And you can win the r10 in the nurburgring 24h, if you can't race for 24hrs just wait for the update for in race saves.

Do you have the F1 car? If not, get that. I've had everything except the F1 series and endurance races in A-Spec done for a while, and I'm about a million short on the F1 car. I stopped playing for quite some time. If you have the F1 car, get the 787b. It's a GT tradition.

The F1 car? There are a few - Red Bull X2010 and its variants, Formula Gran Turismo (standard but always in online dealership for close to 5 million credits) and the Ferrari F1 cars. I bought the F2007 since most people claim it handles slightly better than the F10, and indeed it's awesome. I like it much more than the FGT but both are said to be easier to drive than the FGT.
