Stupid question. In these 2 pictures:
what are the little panels in the drivers side front and rear bumper for?
That'll be where a tow hook attaches. He'll have a screw-in tow hook in the tool kit probably, that screws into a hole in behind those two wee panels.

Lets hope it never needs to be used.

EDIT: Tree'd but at least I can spell tow... :dopey:

Wow. One question, 2 mods.

Our tow hooks are bolted onto the frame underneath the bumpers. I suppose it would make it easier since you don't have to go crawling on the ground to hook up a rope/chain.

WOW dude that car is beautiful. I actually thought that the Toyota was your new car because it was the first picture and I was thinking "you had THAT car on order wtf" but then I scrolled down and I was a bit surprised. Congratulations on the car man!! 👍

Nice purchase 👍 Loving the 3 series' looks, and that's a nice vibrant red.

I like white cars. If i'm going to have another car, it's probably going to be in white.
Taxi!

Yea, why do new cars have stupid plastic covers on them? To make them look more friendly when someone opens it up?
Stop people tinkering, probably makes hot-wiring cars (by passing the immobiliser) harder, looks better to non car-enthusiasts and easier to clean :dopey:

Nope Scaff lives in Hong kong.

No I don't!!!

I live in Swindon in the UK, just here....

...Hong Kong would be nice however.

Has Swindon got nice winding country roads? You dont see many of those in London:grumpy:

Oh lots and lots around and over the Cotswolds and the downs, including a couple of rather nice ones on my trip into my Hungerford office. Out of choice I will always take a b-road over a main road, no matter what the journey. The other nice thing about Swindon is that I am within an hour of three circuits (Silverstone, Thruxton and Castle Combe).

Here's an example

Congrats on the new Bimmer man! Have fun with it on those winding roads. Also I dont think I have ever seen a Stock Green Celica. I mean I have seen those ricer lime green but this forest green looks kinda good on that car!

I live in Hong Kong. Scaff lives in Swindon. I am from Swindon and used to live there. My family still live in Swindon.Scaff would rather live in Hong Kong than Swindon. I would rather live in Hong Kong than Swindon too. There, simple... ;)

Disclaimer: Scaff in no way at any point said he would rather live in Hong Kong than Swindon, but for the sake of my post let's forget that fact! Swindon is, of course, the jewel of the South West!

I've got some relatives in Swindon.

They stand out, my uncles a vicar with a goatee (used to be orange).

Of course the down-side to Hong Kong is its a bit far to travel to get to Castle Combe :)

I bet he did stand out, I must confess I've not seen a vicar with an orange goatee:) , which is a shame, that's not the sort of thing you see every day.

While that road you have circled does indeed look fun to drive, I think I'd rather do a few laps on your circle instead.

Especially that nice hairpin at the top.

i dont know much about that particular BMW model. i can see it looks very nice. i like the bumper and how it resembles an AC Schnitzer deep chin.
what kind of options? is it a 2.0 four banger or inline six?

When we visited England in 1998, a friend of my wife's warned us "Don't go to Swindon!". She didn't explain why, though. We actually stayed for a week in a rented farmhouse just east of Malmsbury.

If your from Swinton your alright, if your not they like to use you as an alternative food for the livestock.

Actually I have no idea why you would be warned not to goto Swinton. Sheffield on the other hand...

Quite, quite bizzare. I mean Swindon is hardly the finest place in the UK, but it certainly doesn't warrant a warning not that far removed from American Werewolf in London (don't go onto the moors at night, etc).

Stopping east of Malmesbury would have put you within 20 miles of Swindon anyway.

When we first visited them we went to a pub and I can conclude that the Swindon accent is the coolest. Mix between South West and sort of Midlands. Quite amusing.

Straight from one of the best-handling affordable FWD cars into one of the best-handling "affordable" RWD cars...lucky bastard.

Congrats on the new car. As others have said, I don't care for red cars, but yours is the first red E90 I can recall seeing, and it definitely increases the presence of the car two-fold. 👍

So how many BMW-owning moderators/admins are there now? I can recall three (you, M-Spec, Duke), but I think I'm missing at least one person...

Yeah, but I have the oldest and suckiest by far. :indiff:

Good thing I have extrah powahs and I can wreak havoc on their user profiles...

Good thing I have extrah powahs and I can beat Scaff in a drag race...
For some reason I could've sworn that's what you were going to say as I was reading it. At least it's true.

Congratulations! It finally arrived! Oh, I wish I wasn't so late to this party...

Wouldn't the rev limit for the break-in be more of a suggestion than a command? Who'll know? Hehehe.

RE: Secondary ride... I'd heard they'd tuned that out with the current generation of run-flats... but still... it'd be nice to get a set of lighter tires on that when it's time to change over. :sly:
