Ok, well if you live in the Seattle are, or have been there recently, you probably know that the King Dome is NOT there anymore, and was demolished before (or right after, i cant remember it all on a timeline) even GT3. Why is it still in GT4?

Did they just get lazy and kind of re-use models for scenery from GT3 and not bother to update and remove a VERY large structure?

Although i suppose it could be from the "90's" such as the fuji tracks, but they dont list that or anything : / Its rather dissapointing to see it there when i know its not and its just like "hmm..." because its a rather large "mistake"

They liked it so much they decided to commemorate it.

Haha, are the WTC in the New York course?

Wrong part of town buddy. The WTC were about 100 blocks south of even the farthest south point of the GT4/NYC.

The NYC circuit is dated too. Most of the billboards aren't there anymore and the building on columbus circle is near finished. Not to mention NYC streets have never been that smooth or clean and Times Square is never free of Tourists from Iowa buying chachkies in the Disney store.

:)

The Nordschleife is also off in some place...

Infineon and laguna both have slight issues...

etc etc.

Real life changes quicker than modeled graphics. I think some of the differences (like on the Nordschleife) are due to lowering the polygon count in the backgrounds. Others are just due to the circuit being modeled a while back and not being changed due to having other priorities to finish first.

niet grappig om zo een pijnlijk iets uit de Amerikaanse geschiedenis terug te vermelden!!!! Pas maar op met zulke opmerkingen

I just told him to be carefull with such remarks.

I watched the Kingdome demolition on TV...very impressive how it imploded - pop, pop, pop, pop, crunch. This happened a year before GT3 came out. From the looks of it, PDI didn't bother to touch up the old courses. Laguna Seca is different but I'm pretty sure that's the model from GT2 and not GT3. I think they just re-rendered it.

Laguna Seca complies with the changes made first in 1999, then in 2002 to the real track. As far as Seattle goes, read Famine's post again.

The photo mode stuff is spot on. In both the Rialto Bridge (or was it Ponte Vecchio? I'm at work and I don't remember) and Piazza San Marco were little shops and cafes that I remember, especially that one on the left hand side of the bridge with the little red canopies. I'm not in love with the angles they've chosen, but its dead on. But should we be surprised photo mode is accurate?

Actually I take that back about the touch up. It seems to me that there are either more trees or taller trees on some of the tracks. Like Cote d'Azur for example. I don't recall there being such tall trees at the end of the course.

They grew since GT3 dude!

Haven't you heard about GT4's new Active Foliage Maturement Engine? :P

Good one 'bro but, are you sure "maturement" is a word???

Meh, that's awesome. I'll have to use that word in a sentence myself. :)

Laguna Seca is pretty impressive. I spent a lap looking left into the infield parking areas and I noticed a lot of detail in there. Skip barber trucks, concession stands, etc.

i love that big structure in the distance at nurb that is part of the f1 track, i thought that was observant to add that in.
could anyone tell me what that is?

The realism of the scenery doesn't bother me. I am much more concerned with realistic looking cars then trees, peds, buildings, or landmarks.

GT5 better use a hard drive or flash memory to download updates/patches. Then GT5 will actually come out on-time and they'll add tracks and cars whenever they want.

did anyone notice in Times Square.. the big red billboard is Budweiser. they kinda covered ub the bottom half of the "B" with a bottles and the label is kinda blurry. In the Photo mode you can see it pretty well. I am offended that they would put a beer logo in a video game (just kidding I prefer Miller anyhow) :dopey:

Why would he need to be careful with such remarks? I'm american, and I'd love to see those buildings in this game. I realize that someone else said that it's the wrong part of town, but what if it wasn't? Would it really offend someone to see them there?

Yeah I agree, whats the big deal.

You mean they will sell new car models and new tracks to owners of GT5. This exact reason is why Massive Multiplayer Online games have the players paying 15 bucks every month to be able to continue playing.

In that New York course, are commercials playing on that big screen or does it just show random images like a slide show when driving by? In the first Tony Hawk Pro Skater game I was amazed by videos actually playing in game.

In the Tokyo nighttime stage (Clubman something) if you look to the far distance they use the same two buildings as a background for every direction. Look left, there's the two buildings, look right, there they are again, look in front, look behind, the same two buildings.

Unless Tokyo is exactly the same in all four directions I'd say that wasn't too accurate.
