Don't forget "Gulpener Gladiator" .... try to import that beer some day. ;) My personal favorite.

Mmmmmm :)

I will try to find it.... I love drinking and driving!
(only in gt4.)

i love that big structure in the distance at nurb that is part of the f1 track, i thought that was observant to add that in.
could anyone tell me what that is?

yeah, thats the dorint hotel, great place for watching races :D

one thing i noticed at nürburgring is at brünnchen. its all green, but in reallife there is no gras, just dirt...it just looks unfamiliar when driving in the game through that section...

Dude, calm down man. Don't take it so seriously, it happened YEARS ago man. Hey, maybe they should PULL GT4 from the shelves so they can remake it without/with the towers. Dude stop caring.

i take more offense to this than hannibal's original post.
WTF?? where's your logic in this? maybe we shouldn't take the holocaust too seriously either, i mean, that happened DECADES ago.
this is still a very sensitive subject for many people here in the states, especially in nyc, if he isn't supposed to take it seriously, what's he supposed to do, be light-hearted about it?
dude, don't be a jack ass.

just a page ago people commented that they wouldn't be offended if WTC were in GT4 (if GT4 manages to race at that location....)
and now some other people get seriously offended by it....
i really think Driftster meant stop caring if WTC is in game or not.... unless he means otherwise, i'm gonna agree with him.... i found it stupid when they delayed Spiderman-2 to remove all the WTC from the movie.....

back on topic... i really like the HK track scenery.... the harbour front look sooo nice (but that's suppose to be pedestrians only area in real-life...).. i'll have to say they got the geometry rite.... but i dun think they got the latest tallest building in the background across the harbour though... have to check again... that building was built around 2-3 years ago so may be PD didn't update their data when they build the map.....
the busy/flashy signs area.... those are actual signs in HK.... i've been wondering for the longest time if they have to pay extra fees for using other ppl's logos... it's quite fun to recognize all the restaurants and bookstores and retail stores on that street.... i wouldn't mind if i were one of the store owner though... free advertising...
but with most of the tracks in GT4, the road is way too smooth.. no bumps on the road at all... it's not a huge issue... but a little bumps would make the track so much more fun...

Hey, there is a video comparing a recent build of forza at Leguna Vs the GT4 leguna in the same car (subaru WRX)
And wow, when you put them next to eachother Forza does look ALOT better man. Not to start any debate but this is the first comparo i've seen from 3rd person and wow.
http://www.msxbox-world.com/Forza_Vs_GT4.php

Wow.

um.... i got a different view after seeing the video....
as with a lot of other x-box games.... the graphics seems just way too shiny and vivid.... those bright red rumble strips almost hurt my eyes....
i'll have to admit forza does have more detailed background and more texture though..... the ground in GT4 looks like a over enlarged bitmap....
the forza video also seem to be brighter.... dunno how it'd affect it...
the car movement seems more natural in GT4 as well... the Forza car seems like it has super hard suspension.... and the rear end looks like its fishtailing in every turn.... the tire/ground contact just looks.... weird... dunno how it's weird though... just doesn't seem rite....

that said.... trees in GT4 are some of the best trees i've seen on PS2.. haha.... (i dun play that many games... :P) although still weak compared to x-box..

For one i'm "here in the states"
and albany was the second place I lived throughout my life, yeah it was tragic, but there's seriously no need to snap at people for reasons like that man. If I were to say something that could be related to the tsunami, would you snap at me? I highly doubt it. If I said something that could be related to the war in iraq would you snap at me then? I doubt that too. not to mention the Holocaust is a little different from the trade center man, don't even compare the two. 2000 isn't 118000 and is just a couple of Zero's off of the Halocaust

Yeah. People are killed every day. Many by Americans. Get over yourself. Move on. And don't let terrorists hi-jack your airplane.

I would chuckle too if they left in that old king dome yet left out the WTC. It would be like "Oh ****, better take those out - we might piss off some people looking for somebody's ass to kick"

Is the rally at Capri based on any real life course? Its the only thing I've been playing recently and it looks beautiful.

Back on the topic before this turns into a debate about "how sensative a subject is".

The gift shop on Leguna Seca is off. As are some of the grass locations but other than that it's accurate.

Re: NurBurgring

I think the object in the distance is some sort of museum.

They also included the STEILSTRECKE ('Steep Stretch') which people used to bypass the KARUSELL, except you can't drive on it. Would be handy though, eh, especially when your tyres start to go mid lap.

Would've been good if they'd included the F1 track to, as I'm given to understand races are sometimes held on the two tracks combined.

I remember spending time looking at maps of Tokyo & Seattle, trying to figure if the tracks were possible.

Well let's look at other tracks in the game, I think it's established that PD went through rediculous lengths to get the ring right, but the Q is...Did they slack off elsewhere?

Yeah the rumble strip was particularly bright, but that's the only video where the strips are that bright i've seen. The Tsukuba video they're pretty well done.

I did notice that the rear end of the car in Forza moved more than the GT4, not just in terms of sliding like say it hit the rumble strips, once it returned to flat ground it didn't just freeze like it did in the Gt4 video. But hey they might be diff cars, it might be a diff gen WRX STi Vs a WRX or something along those lines. But to me the Forza gameplay looked a heck of alot nicer, and if you watch some of the other in race video's out there it only gets better.

Chinese saying: The only way to beat evil is to proceed actively in good; though you can not solve problems by ignoring them. IMO no one here has been deliberately offensive, in words all information is lost, if you want to pick on words ok. If not hold your peace. Back to topic yes? :)

Ok, well if you live in the Seattle are, or have been there recently, you probably know that the King Dome is NOT there anymore, and was demolished before (or right after, i cant remember it all on a timeline) even GT3. Why is it still in GT4?

Did they just get lazy and kind of re-use models for scenery from GT3 and not bother to update and remove a VERY large structure?

Although i suppose it could be from the "90's" such as the fuji tracks, but they dont list that or anything : / Its rather dissapointing to see it there when i know its not and its just like "hmm..." because its a rather large "mistake"
Across the street from it is the new stadium.

Unfornately, some of the tracks from GT3 seemed to be back in GT4 untouched with only a few graphics upgrades.

The Cote D' Azur is still quite somewhat off.

Nice to see you followed my advice, very.... creative.. hmm

Sorry for the off-topic this could be a good thread, we should start a diff thread on insulting each other without using words (muhaha!)

PS2 vs XboX - yawn.

I reckon if I'd got an Xbox, I'd buy Forza, it looks reasonable.

But it's not GT4.

Bugger detail.

I have to put up with Mr Gates' high jinx all day, I'll be kippered if I'm going to get my off duty jollies from one of his products.

Yeah, if you think about it. Tommy Mattola lost Mariah Carey's crazy ass. He must be depressed, he needs as much of my $ as possible.

ok, this is my last off topic post...

Driftser:
i don't mean to be "snappy," and i don't mean to speak for all U.S. or NY citizens and maybe i'm the only one touchy about the subject, but i watched the towers fall from my apt window, i breathed in burning plastic and human flesh for 6 months, lost a friend who was working for the SEC, have many friends who have lost family and/or friends there, took the PATH train through the WTC to school every morning- but skipped class that day, and walked the streets staring at countless pictures of lost family, fallen police officers and fire fighters...
that $hit really affected me.
And yes, if you made any remark about the war in iraq and the tsunami, trivializing the deaths of innocent people, i would snap at you. i was NOT comparing the holocaust to the WTC attacks, they are not the same, and for reasons nothing to do with death-counts. the point i was trying to make is that a couple years going by does not make it ok to make light of this. maybe you could post some sort of formula regarding death-count/time-passage/level-of-trivialization-of-innocent-deaths for all of us because i have no idea how you're reconciling this logic.
I'm not asking you to wear a black arm-band, mourn over their deaths or attend some candle-light vigil, i'm not even asking you to "care" about it at all, just realize that telling other people to "stop caring" is extremely offensive. maybe to a different degree with different people, and some may never be offended, but for the same reason you shouldn't make fun of people with brain tumors or muscular dystrophy on public forums like this (or anyplace you jerk) you should keep your mouth shut on this topic.

I never had a problem with the WTC being in there or not, refer to comments above and...

but i must say, i don't care too much for the gillet vertigo, though.

Yep, you're right. Stupid looking car if you ask me, but it is fast though.

Don't know about the scenery, never been to NY or Seattle. :guilty:
I've downloaded Laguna Seca and added to GTR and I must say that I like driving on Laguna in GTR. Somehow I don't like Laguna Seca in GT4. Is there somebody living close to this track who can tell which one is the most accurate ==> GTR addon, GT4 or Forza???

Gt4 looked More Solid In terms of Car & physics,

whear forza looked all about detailed scenary,

Also note the accel difference, no where near the same,

Forza Vid

Amen to that. One of my friends lost his mom who was on business in NYC for one day and she happened to be on one of the top floors of the north tower, and I also lost my cousin who also worked in the WTC.

It's not like I get offended when someone says theyd like to see the WTC. However, all this BS about how it was years ago/other tradegies etc is a load of ****. First of all, this has nothing to do with those other tradegies, but some of you actually made light about this specific tradegy and tried to make it seem like its no big deal.

I guess I'm sorry if some of us who were directly affected by the largest terrorist attack in history get offended when you say we should not care bc it happened a whole 3 1/2 years ago. Wait... no thats not what I'm sorry for. I'm just sorry that you are an ignorant jackass and try to make this into a subject that isnt sensitve... bc it is and always will be for A LOT of ppl. Learn some respect, or just keep your mouth shut.
