It is certainly an attractive car, but it is clearly nowhere near production ready. The wheels, awkward door handles, ridiculous spoilers... Jesus. Do me a favor and take off the wide-body accents, and throw a set of 17" steelies on one. Maybe we'll get an idea of what a regular one would look like.

OH DIP! This new Scion concept is sweet. It's like a baby LF-A, except not agent orange ugly.

The Scion concept looks like a bulbous mass of blah. Would much rather go with the 2nd concept that has the sharper lines and angles.

My only improvement would be to rectangularize the headlights. Not a fan of triangular lights.

God that's quite hot.

It may be a concept, but if they do keep the basic shape it will be a looka nonetheless. Well done.

This looks SICK! But I have to agree with Omnis. Everything looks nice IMO but the taillights. Though they do look sexy. :sly:

I like it, as it is. Dunno, I feel like a small wing on the back would help the car's aesthetics a bit, and I'd of course replace the rims with something a bit more tasteful, but aside from that... I want one.

They still can't call it a "Trueno?"

Also, Holy-brakes-you-can-cook-a-pizza-on, Batman!

They have shown both a scion and toyota version of the same car, basically. Does that pretty much confirm the plan to build both or are they simply showing both to see which gets a better reaction and they'll scrap the other?

Don't know, although I am patiently awaiting the Subaru version because I do plan on buying one of these for sure.

If anyone calls this a Trueno around me, I'll punch them. Repeatedly. Just like when people call their IS300 an Altezza or their SC300 a Soarer and so on.

Now if you'll excuse, I need to be in the angry dome.

the scion is the toyota version they are having it built onunder the scion brand and we are still wating to see what the subaru will look like

If I ever owned an IS300 or SC300 or RSX, etc. I would definitely re-badge them back to their JDM counterparts. Ditto on 350Z. (Fairlady) As a matter of fact, if I do end up buying one of these as a Scion, it will be re-badged to match the Toyota version. I hate that manufacturers have to re-name their cars in different markets. What's the point?

Where was this confirmed? What's the point of revealing a different looking toyota version just days prior to the scion version if there will only be a scion version? Why not just show 2 scion versions?

What I'm certain he meant to say was that here in America, we are getting the Toyota under the Scion brand, and that we have not seen the Subaru version yet.

Toyota has been keeping us in the edge with these 3 FT-86 concepts already and all their corresponding wow factor, but it really doesn matter to me unless i saw the final production design....

hope they keep it close to the concept!

they hadnt made a decision on weather it would be under the toyota brand or scion brand thats what can happen when they call these cars a concept scion and toyota are the same brand so its no big deal there

The Toyota version on Page 16 looks nearly production ready to me, at least in a top-level sport trim. This Scion looks like a concept for sure, with the huge wheels (the Toyota on p16 supposedly has 20s? these look like 24s then). Its hard to say from the angles we have but the front looks similar but a lot worse on the Scion.

-> I would think we should add 'Scion' to the title now:

^ It pretty much deserves it! :)

The thing is, the IS300 is quite different from the Altezza, same with the SC300. Different engines, interior bits, some cases suspension. The 350Z and Fairlady is much closer.

I think its more just people still holding onto the AE86 that annoys me at this point though - it just isn't a special car really.

What would it hurt if THEY called it that? I mean...I'll call it a Scion Alphabet Soup if it ends up being one, but why can't they use that name? It's got a TON of marketing value with the target demographic.

A. It isn't that.
B. Only a small part of the market really knows the Trueno/Sprinter naming set, it really wouldn't help their marketing out.
