Don't know if some of this information has been posted, but here:

http://www.motoiq.com/magazine_arti...-on-the-toyotasubaruscion-86gt-86fr-sbrz.aspx

Basically, equal length exhaust manifolds (probably been posted), Subaru brakes, front suspension, rear suspension and cat-back (possibly) and an IS250-300 rear differential (that's the part I'm not sure of).

In other words, all stuff you can get aftermarket replacements for, right now.

Schweeeeeet.

Who makes the flywheel/clutch/transmission? Because flywheels and clutches are important mods also.

Well, they're important mods once you start adding serious power or flogging the crap out of the car on a track regularly. It's probably fairly likely that the clutch/flywheel are lifted from some other model in the range though, it doesn't seem like a car that would particularly need custom ones designed for any reason.

It is a pretty easy. The original Celica was a 4 cylinder sports coupe, while the AE86 was more of a hotted hatch of the Corolla.

Wasnt talking to you I was asking to hear astrosdude91 thoughts on the subject thats all
I am aware of the AE86 and the original celica.

Well you asked a question on a public forum, congrats.

You could see that I was replying to astrodude. Whatever, I dont want 2 page argument again its not worth my time or effort.

I'd love to see a GT300 inspired BRZ from STi, would be very very tempting...

What do you called the BRZ that is gonna be in the gt300 thats been talked about through this thread.. seriously.

1. I said "like Honda did with the type r". Honda's type r models always have factory tweaks to make them lighter, like no sound deadening among other things.

2,3. I saw a lot of people saying they wanted AWD and turbo on this car, I was just saying how I would prefer something different.

200kg is a lot to me, the car I drive now is 1130kg and sometimes I'd still prefer something lighter and smaller like my AE86 used to be.

You should maybe reword your posts better than the one that I originally quoted then.

But of course Honda's Type R's have factory tunes to make them lighter. There's a MAJOR difference between the Civic and a FR-S/BRZ. The fact that a Civic is originally an economy car, and that the FR-S/BRZ is originally a sports coupe. It's already lightened to fit the purpose, the Civic is not. It could have been much heavier as well.

I believe he means a tuned car inspired by the GT300 car (Kinda like how Honda did with the HONDA NSX-R Road car) .
If he is reffering to the GT300 car then yes, he does need to read the last few pages or at least reffer to the video that was posted.

My appologies if I misunderstood.

Most of the parts on the GT300 cars are sold. I've seen a few Corolla's here in Tokyo with very very similar parts as the GT300 Corolla's. I've read the companies that make the kits sell them a few years afterwards as aftermarkets.

Yes I do mean a road BRZ with the GT300 car inspired parts...such as some bodywork styling parts, racey suspension, etc etc.

-> As far as what I've seen, the BRZ Cabrio is a stupid idea. I don't know why Autoblog fans like it so much!

^ In my opinion Toyota-Subaru should build a Hatchback version instead. If they do that, my Subie GL, my S2K, and my AE86 are in danger for me to sell them!!! :scared:
^ Nah, it won't/never happen.

-> I'm also one of those people who think that the 86/GT 86 should be called "Celica" instead. But justifying the size of BreezeFrees86 its more of a "Corolla Sport", but the Corolla's name has been tarnished as the Peoples Appliance of the World. So, um, yeah. :indiff:

Just picked up Autocar in the shops. They reckon it'll almost certainly be around £28k in the UK. Meh. We get screwed royally with car prices. That's about £5k too much, not sure how well it'll do over here.

I guess it's still not confirmed but I'm not hopeful.

You don't believe that these parts:

Will fit this:

I can't tell if your serious or not. But yes, the whole body would be modified... And the Japanese Corolla's are a bit different in styling than the US ones. If that's what you are getting at.

Here's a guy with a SC430 styled like that of the Super GT car.

I think he's implying that it would take more to re-engineer a GT300 Corolla from a road Corolla than it would to build the GT300 car from scratch - like they almost certainly did.

The same applies to the GT-86. I very much doubt the race car shares more than a handful of parts (headlights, the roof panel - maybe not even those) with the road car. It's not as simple as stapling on a few more aggressive panels.

Yes I realize this. But people do have these "replica" styled kits of some Super GT cars over here. So it is definitely, possible what the one member was saying.

You seem to be the only one having trouble with the wording, sorry if it confuses you.
So how about the NSX, that wasn't originally an economy car, but they made a type r of that. I'd bet the 86/BRZ will have sound deadening and there will be plenty more weight can be taken off it.

That is a Supra, by the way. With a carbon custom made kit that seems to sit horribly on a bad stance.

Yeah. Its quite unlikely these people are buying parts from race cars and putting them on and much more likely someone makes a bumper that looks similar and takes a **** load of bodywork to make it fit together decently.

And yes, the BRZ has sound deadening because, it happens to be, that 99% of people like to have the impression they aren't in some cheap POS deathtrap where you hear every piece of gravel get thrown around inside the fenders. Go buy something cheap that nobody would care if you stripped out to save 30lbs on your daily drive to work.

Im primarily interested in what we see about the car over the next two years from toyota's trd and subarus sti. Sadly scion will beat them both to the punch with primer gray paint and a hella flush jdm supa slamed pioneer stance drift car. :p

The real showing for this car is the test of time... Go look at sti spt parts for older subbies, they support the cars with new products for the enthusiast driver. If thats the case for the brz Im sure something nice will work its way into that car.

Personally, I hope Toyota uses the lesson from this car and the LFA and creates a new Supra.
