It looks just like any other magazine scan. The yellow in the glass and everything else gives it away.
 
So I chopped a photo of a BRZ, and added some stuff. It's an STi in the works! Rejoice, everyone!

As much as I would love for them to resurrect the forester STI its not gonna happen anytime soon Subaru set out with the BRZ to make an affordable well handling RWD coupe I am sure if you need more power there will be options. As for an STI maybe down the line they will but I think they want to keep emissions down and there footprint down as well plus the fact that the wrx STI is going to be getting revamped soon. I think sti anything else is a pipe dream for the time being.

Ah, gotcha.
I was going to point out that ~$28k for this car ain't all that affordable. I think R1600 has it right in waiting for this thing to hit the used car market before purchasing.
If they do make an STI version of this, it would need a different engine, as the FB is supposedly an N/A only application. The FA though is another story and if they do indeed use it, that means the FA/FB would be interchangeable between the brz and the upcoming wrx/sti.
 
As is I would love this thing, just cant stand having two doors for my day to day.
That said, the concept is awesome and I cant wait to test one/ atleast get into the drivers seat.
Should the sti concept actually happen Id love seeing one while in my sti, like a family reunion lol.

Kent prefers having a car with 4-doors for its practicality.

I assume it's his regular car to commute or whatever.

I completely agree. This is true of Honda as well. I think the problem is that they try to make the cars appeal to everyone. When your making a hardcore sports car like this you can't do that. It's not going to appeal to certain people and they just have to accept that.

A friend of mine that owns a Honda dealership said this. "The S2000 and NSX were close to being some of the best cars to ever be built. But. Honda had to ruin it by making it appeal to everyone. And that is why those cars are so disappointing."

Having ridden in a NSX around tsukuba circuit I have to completely agree. The NSX needs more power. But Honda decided it only needed 270ish i guess.
 
Yeah, sounds like you have. Either that or our definitions of hardcore are completely different.

A stripped and built track car is hardcore.

But this is a fully-furnished street car we're talking about here.

It has an interior, a real roof, and some for of comforts and such. This isn't hardcore.

It seems to be going the jack of all trades master of none route but yeah it could be hardcore in some iteration, very focused or track oriented.

Because Toyota... I mean, Subaru decided it was going to be really light in order to handle well, that makes it a hardcore street car to me.

No.

The Exige is a fairly hard core street car. The JDM DC2R was pretty intense as well. The Boxster Spyder is a prime example as well.

And then you can go more into hardcore and look at the licensed for road Lotus 7 replicas and the Ariel Atom.

This car isn't any more hardcore than, say, a Miata. Decidedly less so I'd say.

the way i read it gave me the sarcasm vibe.

All I know is. It looks pretty good. It's lightweight so it's going to handle well. And Tom's will make parts for it. So i'm probably going to buy one.

Azuremen- If you disagree with what I think is a hardcore street car fine but this wasn't directed toward you. Kamuifanboy - I was NOT being sarcastic I was being honest I don't know how you can get a sarcastic tone from what I was saying. I was actually being honest not sarcastic.
Also I think its truly hard to asses a car before it is actually driven one way or another.

Ah ok. My english isn't amazing so sometimes I get the wrong vibes.

I think we all have to remember that furnished doesn't necessarily mean that it's not a hardcore car. Take the Gallardo SuperLeggera for instance. It still has carpets and such.
 
The only people that will need to "get out" are members who see fit to tell others where and how they shall post.

An improvement in attitudes around here will avoid this. See that it happens.

Sorry there, I just get a bit short when someone gets defensive, as if I was talking to them, and tries to "call me" on it.

Comparing this car to the Gallaro is a bit... comical. One is a hyper car built from exotic materials, an exotic layout, and an according price tag. The only thing one can really declare exotic on the Toyota/Subaru is the Boxer engine, and that is a bit of a stretch by today's standards.

This car will be cross shopped with Sport Compacts, the Miata, and some sport coupes. A "hardcore" model could be in the works later on, but saying this is hardcore would be much like saying my M3 is hardcore...
