TheeFrogmanlego I didn't know you could do Interview Shots on the Hanger Photo Mode Location? I thought Veinna & the River were the only ones? Is it the same rules again just Zoom in until the Windows go See Through?

The method is 10000% harder than seiena , it involves climbing the little bridge above the car, glitching under it and then glitching thru the roof of that car 4/5 times your of center =(

what is the performance numbers like?

weight
horsepower

etc

This is something I wasn't too happy about. They both have the exact same stats. PP, HP and weight. I'm sure this shouldn't be correct. At least the weight. Also, considering that the Scion does in fact feel different, I don't think the PP should be the same.

Also, the tunning parts are the same unfortunately. So no Supercharger or Turbo upgrades for the Scion.

They have the same gear ratio/final drive but different top speed: 305 vs 298 (km/h) for the FR-S...if I remember correctly.

Edit:Rear view mirror is also quite different..

Don't know IF it's the paint or what, but I think the Scion looks better, must be crazy, because I do realise both are almost the same :boggled:

I see what you mean. The Scion definitely has more curves to it.

The Scion probably looks better because of the colours of the cars in the pictures, and the fact that it lacks the unattractive license plate.

If you look inbetween the tires the body kit on the Scion is curved whereas the Toyota is just straight flat. Don't see how an aero upgrade would change that.

Given current global emission standards, that's about as different as a sports car is going to get nowadays

Which means further DLC for GT5 will all include the same car but with different badges?

seems the only major differences back in the day included the aforementioned and a change of engine/ transmission.

Aforementioned as in a change of emissions? I guess that'd go with the engine/transmission changes..

Is there any difference in the ecu of a jdm GT-86 and a usdm FR-S?

I don't think GT5 would simulate that even if there was.

You can also add that the BR-S stock colours and GT86 stock colours are the same , just re-named ;)

The wheel/color/body kit in this particular Scion makes it stand out. But trust me, when stock there isn't any difference AT ALL with the body, except for the lights, the exhaust tips and the fact that the Scion is missing the license plate.

It does. The sideskirts are altered when adding bodykits. I don't remember which I used. And if you add those concave styled wheels, it merges with the shape of the body and contributes to the wider and curvier look. The color also helps since it adds contrast. The Toyota in the pics doesn't have anything but the rear spoiler, reason why it looks flatter.

I wanted to give them a different look for the market that they represent. The US version being more muscly, heavier, flashier and overall better looking. The JDM version having a nice and simple white finish, ultra light weight wheels and nothing else that might suggest that it is an overall faster and superior handling car.

I know that I should've posted pictures of them fully stock, but I did it in a hurry. TheeFrogmanlego did a better job with the pics. Check them in page one of the thread.

Ok just finished giving it a go on TGTT both FR-S and the GT 86, what fun cars to drive. Completely stock aside from oil change and both sporting ProDrive rims, I hit the asphalt. Honestly they sound exactly alike but the Scion is much smoother of the two, it's much easier to turn and makes itself feel like the better overall car. I am in love with these two cars, I hope the Subaru version comes soon, I think that one is AWD and not RWD. I have to go check on that info, but it would be great if the Subaru version was added and we all know that there will be racing versions of these cars especially on the Toyota side of things. I'm hoping for PD to add a RM to the mix for all of them.

Scionoyotaburu FR-S86RZ Sprinter Trueno GT-Apex, if you want to get technical.

I hate the front plate, and I'm very thankful PD ditched it. For me, it makes all the difference.

I've been looking at all the comparison photos in this thread. Am I the only one that thinks the Scion looks like a simpler and crapier version of the Toyota 86? The exhaust is simpler, the headlights have no LED bits, the centre of the dash looks simpler and lower spec, etc, etc.

Scion FR-S = poverty-spec Toyota 86, but I bet it's no cheaper though!

And on other matters, I can't wait for someone in real life to throw the boxer engine out and convert it to a turbo 13B or 20B rotary engine! Now that would be a mad drifter!!
