Focus on making premiums premium!
Everything should be perfect, sound, looks, gears, transmission, springs, tires, enginespec and so on. The most important must be that theese cars act, sound and behave as they do in real life. Scrap the rest, they can be used for arcade or online "for fun".
The premiums are the ones that should be used for online "real" racings and hardcore competition.
Dont waste time on 1000 models, just do 200 of them 100% correct and this will be a great game!

No. I don't want only 200 cars. They can slowly upgrade them. Scrapping them when they're already in the game makes no sense.

You're so right 👍

You should hop on your PC and start programming those models. You should also fly around the world modelling and recording every car.

BTW, I think they already have 200 Premium models. Just stay out of the UCD and you'll be fine.

Sorry, but I strongly disagree. A lot of my favorite cars are standard and I'm not alone.

Just don't drive them.

You want to remove 800 perfectly functional cars from the game? :dunce:

I'm much more concerned with how the car drives rather than how many stitches are in the rear seat.. which we can't see anyway.

Got to disagree, I have had so much fun in my standard cars, especially some of the 90's Japanese cars, along with my 230 MPH Supra. And my Skyline crushing Lotus Elan.

I think the premium cars are fine to be honest..

I dont mean they should remove them, but dont put more time in making them better because they cant do it with all of them. Better to know that the 200 that are premium really are premium and not just by looks.
And i think they can make them complete with sound and feeling not just looks if they want. But if you feel its better to have 1000 non realistic cars than having 200 of them completely great is strange? Then they should remove the "simulator" part of their claim and just call it GT5 the 1000car arcade game with GOD mode on all the time.

I might agree with the sentiment of this post if the premiums were picked due to how relevant they were, but as they were only picked indiscriminately as anything that wasnt already in GT4 and couldnt be copied over then, no, this is a very poor idea.

Other than cockpit view the premiums add very little to online racing, other than shiney graphics that dont make the game any more enjoyable

Youve just replied when I posted, what are they doing to improve them

The standard cars look fine just the way they are. It would take Kaz at least more than one month to make ONE standard car a premium. There are already some good-looking Standard Cars like the Mazda Furai, Bugatti Veyron, Toyota GT-ONE, Ford GT40...etc.

I really do not support your argument.

Why don't we focus on the other parts on the game, like MORE EVENTS and MORE TRACKS? The lack of both of these makes the game lose its replayability.

Jeez, does everything have to be about graphics these days?

But why are they your favorite, because they feel arcadelike, not because they are looking great, sounding real, behave real? So as i see it its because they are fun to drive. Think there are lots of other games that do that better with better graphics and sound for that kind of driving. See Dirt, Grid, Shift...

ALL except 1 of my favourite cars are standards.
The Lancia is the only premium I will actually use frequently.

So no, I disagree.

Err no, because our favourite cars and modelled as standards. Not our fault.

I think they should scratch all the premiums, make them all standard. Use all that extra disk space wasted on gimmick psuedo sim cockpit views on leaderboards and racing features.

And remove photo mode while they're at it.

Just say no to drugs.

Agreed. That's what I thought, too. Those cockpits can be switched for more events, more tracks, and more course-creator themes. Tired of all the complaining already. :grumpy:

Though I think that Photo Travel should be used for ALL cars. No graphical discrimination.

The "upgrade standard cars to premium" idea in the Feedback is over 6,000 votes, though...

Ok, lets put it this way then, see which cars people use and make them premium (they can see this) and let the rest alone until theese are perfect.

If you dont have cockpit view then its not a simulator and if they cant make theese cars better then they should focus on only making the premiums absolutely perfect and perhaps add premiums in the gaps where som racecartypes are missing.

Gran Turismo is never a perfect simulator, but does that mean that we don't enjoy it? Not all of us use cockpit views, you know.

Nooooo!

I prefer driving Premiums because I always use cockpit view, but Standards are awesome in their own way:D

However, since PD have stated that they will change certain standards to Premium, I still fear that they will do those Honda Todays and Daihatsu Midgets:(

Ohh I know, my dream of all standard cars will never happen. Too many casuals out there that think cockpit view is the be all and end all of sim (even though it is really less sim than other cameras) and too many that think racing games should be artist games instead.

They claim it to be a simulator! The Real Driving Simulator doesnt sound like they are saying anything else..perhaps they forgot the questionmark after that or???

In fact if they do that the game would lose its Pokemon spirit...

Already castrated by Kaz. :sly:

For me are Standard cars indeed only colectables & trade items, not more.

For driving i need a cockpit view. The "face to the ground" vision from the standard cars feels now so ... wrong. Really a no go now in GT5.

Well they do...
They may have some problems, but they do act like they're supposed to.

And I do not get the idea of how more makes your game less enjoyable. The standards are definately not that bad as to distract from the game.

Also IMO I would rather have all cars with graphics like standards with working lights and a mediocre cockpit.
We could of had much more cars and better A spec if PD didnt focus on graphics

Agreed most of my favorite cars are standard cars, but they should be nicer looking. I reckon a member of the PD team could improve each car massively in a matter of minutes

Rear lights on the volvo S60 for instance are hideous, surely it wouldnt take too long to alter them?

I've seen no evidence that standard cars perform any differently than the premium ones. There is only one physics engine.

In many cases the premium cars don't sound better either.

The *only* disadvantage to standards in my view is the lack of cockpit. I race with bumper cam on the premiums about half the time anyway though.

If I want to see pretty looking, realistic cars I'll cruise autoblog and jalopnik for photo galleries.

edit: in fact I'd make a guess and say that if the overall graphics and visual modelling were lessened, the overall game could have been improved greatly.
