Scrolling problem: not smooth

Well I just got my computer back and whenever I try to scroll, instead of going up or down smoothly, it jumps down refreshing th image every time. Basically a line goes from the bottom up and the image I would get after scrolling appears. Anyone understanding what I'm saying? If so please help.

I tried turning 'smooth scrolling' on and off and that is useless.
 
This usually happens when your graphics drivers are not installed, (or not installed correctly).

Find out what graphics adapter you have and download the latest drivers from the manufacturers website.

Nah, it's a Compaq. My uncle was working on it because the Ethernet drivers weren't installed and Windows wasn't registered. I'll go see if I can update the drivers.
 
All fixed!!! My computer is now running great! I went to the driver properties and saw that "no drivers are installed." So I grabbed the disk, popped it in, installed the driver and it now works.
