Okay, I don't pay attention enough, because I didn't notice until now that PD changed the Opel Tigra in the Test Drive disc. It looks more like the final version, Mattj155's video of the TD disc has been out for a while now and I never noticed the Tigra got changed.

EDIT: Also guys, I think I'm going to change my mind on making it a surprise. I mean, I don't know how long it'll take me to make this video and I still have school work to do while I'm doing this. It'll still be a surprise for viewers on youtube anyway.

With that said, I'll share my own findings so far.

- The 1997 Camaro SS finally has a finished body, but it has the same color options as the Z/28. The final one only had 5 colors to choose from.
- The Vauxhall Vectra now has wheels.
- The 1998 Infiniti G20/Nissan Primera sedan now has a body rather than a placeholder and it looks complete.
- The Peugeot 106s & 306 have finished bodies, but the racing mods give me placeholders still.

Funny thing is, Matt made a video comparing the Tigra seen in the earlier demos to the final Tigra a few years ago, it definitely had its look changed during development.

I hate when is a placeholder but see how looks at what would be the name of the Ford Escort Rally Car, if there was the GTi 1.8 ford escort race modified!

Yes, I know that. I mean I didn't notice that PD put the final Tigra model in the Test Drive disc.

Notes on my findings some more:
- The Corvette C4 ZR-1 now has a body, but it has the same wheels and color selection as the normal C4. I almost thought PD just used the C4 Coupe as a placeholder until I noticed the ZR-1 sticker and the 3rd rear light being on top of the window.
- Dodge Interpid is now finished (tailights are no longer glitchy), but it still has the colors from the Challenger for some reason.
- The Avenger still has the Challenger colors.
- The Viper Racing mods are completed.
- The 1996 Subaru Imprezas have their final color schemes.
- 1999 Imprezas still have placeholders.
- The Cusco Subaru Impreza GT300 is finished!
- Citroen Saxo RM is finished.
- Alfa Romeo GTVs are finished.
- Racing Mods for the Vectras are present, no differences from their final counterparts.

@RandomCarGuy17 What about the RM Renault Laguna? If it's present, does it have the mistextured front end? I'm also wondering if the Eunos Cosmo Type E has a visible spoiler on its non-RM version or not. Final 3d model has one that's invisible and placed way high.

Not RCG17, but still...

Not present at all, Netz Altezza placeholder...

It's spoilerless like in the final.

Aw. Thanks :) I wonder if the Laguna was ever made correctly or if it was mistextured from the very start. I'm starting to think it was one of the last cars made for the game, and hat it was rushed, hence the texture.

I uploaded 2 of the idle replays.

There is a total of 5 before it repeats

Yup, i know that the Escort WRC is a race mod of the Escort 1.8 GTi. But what I meant was that it is good that the Ford Escort Rally Car has become like a different car. Because it was a waste make the 1.8 GTi RM the rally car. Because the 1.8 GTi is a FF and it is slow even if full tuned (try to full tune a Focus 1.8, it's really slow). It would be a sad and slow escort rally car like the Nascar Taurus that is very slow and boring. So I say, it would have been better and more realistic that there had been Cosworth directly, but from what we know apparte his name that appears in the description, (at the moment) there is nothing.

Both focus' are horridly slow fully modded. I got around that issue. I simply hybrid 99 svt cobra engine, drivetrain (gearbox and diff), but kept everything else focus, it makes for one hella drift car, plus years ago in sport compact car magazine they featured a mustang v8 swap rwd focus..... it was epic cool! So i built a hybrid of it. Awesomesauce!

Edit: links of the real v8 focus, aka: the terminator focus!, (sport compact car mag is out of business)

Hey submanaic93, how did you get zmodler to aply the body texture? I have your pic of the del sol lm edition as my win xp background, lol.

@B_rad88! I didn't use zmodeler except for extracting the models from .cdo files :P (because I don't know how to use it haha)

I ripped the textures from savestates with psxVram, imported the exraced 3d models into 3DS MAX, cleaned up the models, made my own texture map for the car using what I ripped, then mapped the 3d model from scratch. once that was done, I exported the mapped model into Keyshot to make the screens I uploaded to my Deviant Art account ^^
I didn't think they were wallpaper material when I made those though, i'm flattered :D

Thats alot, wow! thank you for sharing! I dont know if i can do that, maybe in time, but not right now..... holy crap...... lol, And yeah there is a raw win xp blue boarder around the pic. Ill clean up my desktop and screen grab it...... and reason i used it as wallpaper is becuase that win xp desktop is just for gran turismo stuff only...... so being the del sol lm edition is one of my favs, it seemed fitting.......

The 97 mira is pretty much identical to the 98 mira in the real world....... so i dont know why they would have both........ except maybe daihatsu launched the 98 model during development? Just like old news but anyone ever noticed how the 96 blue viper gts rims are incomplete? They are missing the center caps..... in game it shows wheel lug area.....

On a side note:

So with no tutorials or anything, i just managed to figure out how to modded replay car names...... fixed the stupid "muscle car" lol........... now to trying to figure out how to mod garage car names.......

That could work if you were trying to alter the car's data parameters from the name to the base name, it should be simple.

Another thing I found out about the Test Drive disc is that PD apparently used some normal cars as placeholders for their RMs. I keep seeing the normal variant of something when trying to look up the racing model. I.E. Normal Mini Cooper when looking up its racing mod and Lotus Esprit GT when looking up the Esprit GT1.

There are a few instances of this in the Late Demo too. The Miata, Focus and Cobra Daytona come to mind.

This also explains the soft top Elise hidden in the final product: it was a placeholder for the Motorsport Elise racing modification.

Out of curiosity, is it possible to enable tire wear mode for single player races in GT2 Arcade Mode?
Isnt it only for 2 player battles in Arcade mode?

Don't qoute me on it but I seem to remember it being that way.

Yup, only 2p by default. Unless it can be activated via cheats... which probably can be done. I don't remember for damage though. I think it's doable in solo races.

Mistake on my part, I forgot to mention that I'm interested in enabling tire wear via cheat codes, yes. I know it is limited to 2P mode only, but what if you could bypass the rules with some codes and enable it for single player races as well? :)

I do not own gameshark or any similar tools, so I may not be able to enable it myself, but I'm still curious.

Thing is, I wonder if the AI would be affected as well. But I guess that could be a thing. Though to be honest, I don't remember tire wear to be that big a deal in GT2. I finished a lot of endurance races without going to the pits ever xD I even do that in GT3 sometimes when it's possible.

I did make a workaround and kludge-y method to have a 6-car race with tire wear (Arcade Mode only).

First, enable 2P tire wear in Options. Then, activate the code 301D52C6 0000 (NTSC-U 1.0) before starting a single race. After the race began, quit to post-race screen, replace the code with 301D52C6 0004.

The code in question basically changes the race type - details here. :)

Are there any start position and finish position cheats, as well as AI position modifier and car changer?

For AI car changer, I refer you to @EncounterGTR's custom race video.

For start position, use the following codes on NTSC-U 1.0:

301D53A5: Grid 6 (player's car)
301D5475: Grid 5 (player 2's car in 2P Mode)
301D5545: Grid 4
301D5615: Grid 3
301D56E5: Grid 2
301D57B5: Grid 1

Values of those codes are 0000 to 0005 - zero-indexing applies (0000 gives you pole position, 0001 2nd, so on). :)

What do you mean? Unless you're racing on hidden reverse versions of tracks or rally tracks where AI aren't supposed to race on, they should be able to pass each other (passing isn't programmed on unused road tracks). Either that or if they have some form of rubberband effect like in the easiest races (Sunday cup...), that's the only reason I can think of why they'd drive in a group.

Thanks, but I meant to freely move the AI car. I want to move it right next to the Player starting position.

Unless there's a way to transpose the 2p setup for handicap, there's no way making an AI spawn position modifier. As far as making a code that would let you take control of an AI, I don't think that has been looked at yet, if ever. The only game I know where we can do it is Destruction Derby 2.
