This newest batch of bonus races seems to be easy to do with some stock/lightly modded cars, but for those who want to make them competitive, here's the times the fastest car seems to put down for each race. I also included the tires that the computer uses.

For example, in the Volvo race; the Focus RS is the fastest car you face. He should do a total time of 11:52 give or take some milliseconds. If you take your C30 into practice and tune/de-tune it to achieve laps of 2:24, you should finish the race in about 11:52. This way those who want to make these as competitive as possible can use practice to figure out how to do so.

I bought a new car and used stock setup, came 2nd by 3 seconds. With Sports Hards an easy win. I will revisit later and try again with the stock setup because I think it is doable (for myself).

Was wanting to buy this car anyway, so I put soft sports, and my usual catalytic converter, ECU, and air filter on the car and won quite easily. Quite a fun car to drive.

I had a new Volvo C-30 with 217 HP so gave it an an oil change and it came out at 228 HP.
Jumped and took it for a rip landed up in 6th on the 1st try and 3rd on the second try.
I may be able to do better but 1st place was 39secs ahead and 2nd was 31 secs ahead. One thing I don't want to do is start throwing power at it as it would be an easy win. This is actually one of the fun parts of the game trying to figure out how to win with less. Think I will tune for handling and see how I do.

Tried the 3rd run and managed 2nd but still 27 secs adrift from the Ford Focus. Things are looking up but its time to work on the handling.

For the 4th run I decided to try sports tires and meant to buy the sports hard but bought the sports soft by mistake. Well did that make a huge difference, I won the race by 15secs for a time of 11:37.

In conclusion I would say if you do a new car oil change for the extra 11 HP and add sports hard you should have a good race without spending a lot of coin. Of course there are those that may be able to do this totally stock.

I couldn't do this one in stock form , consistently finished about 20 seconds back . I added Sports Medium tyres and customisable suspension , got rid of the understeer and won by a large margin (Unfortunately) , didn't need extra power but upgrading the tyres too much ruined the race.

I was pleasantly surprised with how nice this Volvo handled with stock suspension! I would have never looked at that car, but had to buy it to to do the event. Wow! It looks great with the front spoiler and skirts added but hated the upgrade wing so I took that off!

I love this little car and would even consider going to the Volvo dealer and test driving one!

I almost bought one when I was getting a new car, but the design is fairly impractical. It's a 2+2 compared to most other 2 door hatches having 3 rear seats (however uncomfortable the middle is, it's there if you need it). The hatch door is also awkwardly small and not as useful as on other hatches. The interior is nice though. Also, being a volvo it costs a lot more compared to a GTI or Speed3, etc. Very cool looking, especially in the R-trim. If only they actually made a R version, and not just "R-Design".

I gave my C30 an oil change and used the stock setup for this event. I managed to pass the 1st place car at the end of the last lap. Using the stock tyres made it more challenging, but I had no problems with this event.

I enjoyed this event quite a lot, GVS is one of my favourite tracks in the GT Series

Bought the C30 and raced it completely stock with only an oil change and comfort soft (damn typo) tyres.

I only managed to pass the the Forcus RS in the 4th lap though, the AI was pulling some amazing times with it, after passing the Z4.

I really enjoyed driving this Volvo which came as a pleasant surprise. It's nice and stable even under heavy braking and has plenty of low down torque which I really approve of 👍

A surprisingly nice car to drive. I really like how these challenges get you to drive cars you'd probably never use otherwise.

Must just also note that the average lap time is slightly wrong above. You'll need to do an average of under 2.23 for the win: 5 * 2.23 = 11.55.

That stupid Focus, I can easily get 2nd with a fresh from the dealer car, but the Focus has like 25 seconds on me. Really fun challenge though, I never would have driven the Volvo otherwise.

Storage capacity is scarce though that is admittedly not its purpose. However over Christmas I fit 5 people (one child seat) and all luggage in it for an hour and a half drive.

Haha, this is the exact same upgrade I do to any cars I need a slight boost for. It's dirt cheap and gives you a pretty good boost. I've been able to Gold most of the Seasonal races with just that upgrade. Except for the RX-7 race which needed a few more.

I dont think its a glitch.
The cars just drive on the tyres they got delivered with when they were bought. Like a Golf V has standard Comfort soft. So in these seasonal challenges, when they're an opponent they drive on comfort soft.
The Focus RS however comes standard on sport hard. So that's the tyre the car uses in these challenges..

Just put sport hard on your Volvo to have a nice race to catch the Ford.. It aint hard anymore, but gives a nice race.

I too wouldn't have given the Volvo a second look if it wasn't for this race. I did sports medium tires, race air filter, catalytic converter, and ecu and was surprised how easy the race was. Since I've completely modded the Volvo and am now tinkering with the suspension. This is one fun car to drive.

I love the look of the C30. I'd totally own one in real life.

Had no problems with this race. It was turned up to 220 HP before the seasonal even so I just kept it as it was and raced.

Good to know. It is definitely one of the better looking hatches, and I love an inline-5. I ended up with a MkV GTI mostly due to the price and practicality. I get to use both this week for the events though

Yep... my wife wants one of these cars badly. Its a great design and the suspension is based on the Euro Focus I believe. The problems are: cost and availability. Volvo sells about 300 of these a month TOTAL, as a result its a rare car and your not going to find any deals on one. We test drove one and its spunky, but for the money you can get a 2 year old G35 or 350Z which are true sports coupes. Personally I like the funky hatchback, as it reminds me of my first car (avatar pic): '85 Civic S 1500.

Just did this, thanks to the target time. The Focus RS posted an 11:52.458 total time for me.
I did 2:26.0, 2:22.4, 2:21.2, 2:21.6 and 2:20.3 to finish first by 0.9 seconds - passing the RS on the outside of the exit of the final tunnel and into the final chicane.

I left the car stock except for fitting the full-custom LSD (helped in the hairpin, but was a nuisance in some of the faster corners) and an oil change plus racing air filter (240 bhp / 243 PS / 179 kW).
Realistically, I could have done it without the air filter (229 bhp / 232 PS / 171 kW) if I'd been on the ball on the first lap (stupid AI, getting in my way) and had been as fast on the middle laps as I was the last. Trying without the oil change would be a real challenge for me, I think.

I've decided I like the new events, since before I'd be forced to ditch H-pattern and turn ABS on in order to be consistently fast. Now I can take my time in braking zones and in changing gear, buffered by a small increase in power. I put in low 2:22s in practice and assumed that would be fast enough! Now I know to practice just a little bit longer
