Just had a first go at this....stock car(chaged to a set of better looking wheels, lol). Ran most 1:25s with 1 1:24 and I was a good way behind the first...kinda reminds me of the Madrid race(funny since in that race you are in a Focus ST, which is basically the same underpinning as the C30, and you are being beaten by the same Focus RS...).

If the RS is on Sports Hard then I'll be using that too...fair game...lol

FYI, the first post is wrong in that the average lap to beat this is 2:24. 11:52 over 5 laps is 2:22.4

Need to drive a more perfect race. Swapped on Sports Hard and so far the 2 tries yielded:
26, 21, 21, 22, 21(probably high 21s) => 2 sec off

24, 22, 23, 22, 22=> 1 sec off

Edit:

Won it, running 24.5, 21.3, 21.3, 21.9, 21.3 to beat it by ~2 sec...Sports Hard on a otherwise stock car, no oil change. Good car, fun to drive, rotate-able with throttle manipulation and left foot braking...

Stock with no oil change and came in 2nd on the first try, but was 23 seconds behind the winner. Got to as close as 20 seconds during lap 2, but was losing time as I worked my way through traffic on laps 3 and 4. Was in 2nd by the beginning of the last lap but couldn't make up much ground on the winner. I am not sure that I can get much more out of this car with stock set up. I felt like I was running it right at the limit as it was.

I didn't even try it un-tuned, I just spent 200,000 on tuning this thing, won by over a minute and I lapped over half the field. The plus side is that the car is a great drive and I love it so it will still get some use from me.

Tried this yesterday and came 2nd with a stocker. ECU and cat and some sports medium = easy win. I actually prefered the way the car handled on comforts, they had some nicely controlled understeer with a hint of drift if I braked hard enough mid corner.

Good tip.

I used areo kit (looks good!) sports hard tires, air filter, oil change, plus height-adjust suspension. I don't think I needed the air filter because once I got the suspension sorted I won easy, passing the Ford half way thru lap 5. Car just understates too much for my driving style. Also wonder if just changing the tranny would be enough, as the engine seems to run out of power up high in typical small turbo fashion.

Too bad that you are not racing a Mini Cooper as Volvo targeted that market for the C30 here in the states by offering the car in a base package with almost everything as options. Glad to see this little gem getting some love from the GT5 crowd.

It's awesome how great and fun the Volvo was to drive. I put on racing medium tyres and made an oil change, got 1st bylike 30-40 seconds :D
