I know. That too me though was just informing me, I added some more in-depth stuff here and meant for this to be a place for everyone to discuss what cars they used, tunings, etc.

Cool this is what the other thread needed. 👍

I just got 2nd place in the nascar ring race with not a very good setup. With a good setup and another try 1st place is easily achievable. That 2nd place was on my 2nd try and the first try only lasted 2 minutes as I had not driven the nascar in a while.

That's good to know. The RX-7 seems hard from first impressions, after three laps of 1:02's I can only close the 41 second gap to 38 seconds :S.

I'm about to buy a NASCAR to attempt the NASCAR challenge.

I am in the rx-7 spirit R that is tuned. I am not liking the driving style of the car, going to try and put more oversteer as I am running 1:02s and can only really get 7th. Anyone know of a better rx-7?

Just made the mistake of changing my oil, rendering the otherwise bone stock RX7 unusable in the competition. Awesome.

The car is horrible for me, it feels like it's on comfort hard tires when its on sport hard, this challenge feels impossible. I'm in a GT-X with 390 horsepower and about 1100kg and the car just drifts all over the place, it's my drift car, but it's not on a drift setup of any kind andon hard sport tires. I can't wait to see how people are gonna get 1st place in this. This feels like tha GT-R challenge, just a LOT harder.

i like this thread, keep us posted with the details of every events! :) if only i knew this kind of info for the first set of seasonal events. Wasted some CR because i did oil change on my cars. :(

Just completed the NASCAR challenge.

It was quite easy, won by 8 seconds and passed first place at the Karussel.

I used a stock NASCAR, default tuning and Skid Recovery force. Skid Recovery force makes the car much more manageable, but if not you don't have to use it, but beginners or novice's it's a welcome addition. :)

My lap-times were 6:45 then 6:40 so aim for around there. I'd recommend changing the Transmission to 360 KM (223 Miles).

I'll be unable to try the rest for the moment, but this one is easy enough, just aim for lap-times around 6:45.

Just won the Mini race by 1 second on my first try.

My lap-times were 1:07, 1:05, 1:03, 1:04, 1:05 for any comparisons that need to be made.

My mini was tuned, flywheel and clutch etc, but no BHP or weight tunes. If you are struggling cut the chicane after the long sweeping left-hander. This isn't as hard as the Fiat 500 challenge though. :)

Can we use the gamestop nascar?

Nope, too much power.

Yeah, it's definitely doable with a stock car (no pun intended :dopey:). I spun the car once and still crossed the finish line on the 1st place guy's bumper. Just need to go back and do it again WITHOUT spinning out.

I added air filter to get to the hp limit, added the drivetrain stuff, and full suspension... passed the 1st place guy around the end of lap 4, IIRC. Like you said... not as difficult as the 500 race.

So, anybody race the Mustang GT race and have success? First try, I could only get 3rd w/ Aero, Suspension, ~384hp, drivetrain... and 1st place was still ~11 seconds ahead. Not an easy one, unless I'm missing something huge somehow.

Which rx7? The limit is 394 and the highest I see in the dealer is 270-ish hp 💡:gtpflag:

Not to sure, I tried the one from the dealership tuned to 393 BHP 1000ish KG but to no avail. There may be a better one in the used section, a lighter one maybe?

Just tried the new RX-7 race, came in 2nd around 10seconds behind, and i was doing laps of 1:01 ! This race is going to need laps of around 59 seconds to get first.

Just took 3rd in the mustang event. Got within 2hp of the limit with flywheel and such and a closed 5 gear box. 1:43's average and was about 12 s from the front. Good fun though!

Just did the RX-7 and got gold with the RX-7 from the Mazda dealer. Tuned & Oil Changed to 391 hp, rest of the non-hp and weight upgrades performed (including aero bits from GT Auto). It wasn't too bad, just remember to use trail braking a lot and if you're running laps right around the 1:00 mark (give or take a few tenths) you should be golden. Working on the Mustang challenge now, just got 2nd by a bumper with no suspension tuning and a few over driven corners. Should be cake after a couple tweaks.

I've managed to beat the RX-7 event by buying a RX-7 type RS(FD) -'98 from the online collector's dealership. I attached a sports exhaust and stage 3turbo kit which gave it 393BHP. I also restored body rigidity but didn't give it an oil change :guilty:.

No changes were needed to suspension i just left it how it was, achieved59:50 to 1:50 min laps.

also leave ASM off, made me a second slower per lap.

mustang challenge is pretty easy if you like cutting corners

here is the setup I used btw

window weight reduction
carbon hood
body rigidity things
all aero parts (standard downforce, 0/15)
Sports ECU
Racefilter
Sports Intake manifold
Sports Exhaust Manifold
Catalytic Converter: Sports
Supercharger
Fully Customisable Transmission at 250 km/h (~150 mp/h) ( you could put it a tad lower since I didn't go over 205 km/h on the straight
Twin Plate Clutch
Semi Racing Flywheel
Carbon Propeller Shaft
sports hard tyres

weight 1615 kg, which is way more then 1500 but the first weight production already brings it too low, so this is the only option I think,

hp spot on the limit, so don't do an oil change just install these parts

Golded all but the Mazda one so far.

I tried to use the 1990 RX-7 that we needed last week, but unfortunately that's not quite good enough, so I'll use try the one from the online dealership

Did the Cooper challemnge with just sports supension, Intake manifold to put to 171 bhp and 6 speed short gears.

had to cut some corners and the win came through launching my car at the front 2 in the last bus stop and bashing my way ahead. Not proud of it, but hey it saved me buying all new custom parts for it!

Won the mustang one with a 6 speed short gearbox, sports supension and a few extras to get my bhp to the max allowed limit. Took a few goes and i had to cut the corner leading up to the corkscrew, you can lift off and cut it almost completely it seems sometimes..

did anyone the fcous challenge already?
the first car is always about 20 seconds in front of me:tdown:

If you want an easy way out, you can turn skid recovery on, and that makes it infinitely easier.

i´m not sure were i can turn that on or off (i use the german version)

Can you not use the RE Amyeia Rx7?

Nope, too much power.

I tuned it to 394bhp, upgrade all drivetrain, racing transmission and 1615kg, and I put the top speed at 168mph. ABS 1, Skid Recovery ON, all other aids off.

My laps:
1- ?
2- 1m 41.3s
3- 1m 40.4s
4- 1m 40.1s
5- 1m 42.3s

I used a Sixaxis controller, 1st try I got gold

Just did the Mini Cooper challenge on my 3rd attempt. Absolutely bone stock Cooper S '07, cut all chicanes and won by 2 secs or thereabouts... not an easy race particularly, managed consistent high 1:04.xxx laps with the soggy suspension and gearing.

This race is difficult, if not somewhat fun. I kept gaining on the opponents in front of me as the race progressed but the Focus RS in the lead kept gaining a bigger lead. I made a couple of mistakes (hit the barriers a couple of times) but there is no way I could have gained 20 seconds without them. I own a Focus RS (in game of course) and I must say it is one of the best handling FWD cars out there, much better than the overweight ST. I reckon I could close the gap to around 8 seconds but I have to (ahem) cheat by using some of the aids! (TCS is always on 1 anyway).
